Hello,
I realized Google services takes up a lot of battery. Just to see if anyone else has this problem. Screenshot is attached in file.

I'm also having this problem with both my phone and tablet at the same time. I think it may be a Google problem.
I'm having this same problem. Months later and this is really starting to suck. How can Google not have fixed this already? It's been a problem for so long now. What's going on!

I'm pretty sure it's been fixed, but there was a regression in one of the recent updates. It's personally not an issue for me though, so it may be due to an interaction with a given ROM/kernel combo.
I'm all stock not even rooted.

This is not a solution, but I have this same issue and have been researching it for a while.
I use wakelock detector, and there is a specific service under Google services or Google maps (can't remember and it's not showing up right now as I'm charging).
Do any of you all find that it's only if you're connected to a wifi network (at work for eg.) that you get the large drain..? I believe that is the problem for me. Google tries to access their server but the firewall at work blocks it, so it tries over and over, which subsequently drains battery.
Try going a day with your wifi off and see if you still get the drain.
Keep updated
Hope this helps, cheers

If you're running stock, make sure that you have at least opened every single installed Google application, regardless if you use the app or not. This will allow said applications to log in with your Google account. If these are left without a login they will continually eat your battery.

I find that if I restart my Note 2 before I charge it. I get better battery life.
I'll look into the Wi-Fi thing though. It's just I need to use it when I'm using my device at home since the connection in my home suck's, both hspa and lte.
Google needs to fix this though. It's crazy they have allowed it to get this bad.

I thought it was related to root but I've had these hot reboots even before rooting so it's not just root. Most likely an app.

Will take a while to hunt down the app but anybody else have 'LinkedIn' app installed? It just hot rebooted while launching that app from a fresh restart - quickest hot reboot I've ever seen.
It might not be that app but then I went to the Play Store page and there are tons of 1 star reviews because the last update failed on people's phones - more interestingly the most recent comment is from a GS2 user who says latest update reboots his phone.
I've uninstalled it and I doubt I can be that lucky that it's that app and I find it so quickly but crossing my fingers.
Mine rebooted after I opened the Navigation app.

Mine happened again. I've now uninstalled BetterBatteryStats. I'm going to start uninstalling stuff that uses root to roll that out. I've had these issues on stock but it happened rarely, lately it's been happening very frequently so something is going on.

I've had the same on mine. I rooted mine day 1, so no idea if it would have done it without root. I've defrosted everything in TB and still no luck.

Well I'm tired of the random hot reboots! Some people say it happened to them before rooting, but I don't believe it happened to me until I rooted and installed CWM touch......so I'm going back to stock to start all over again so I can try to narrow down the issue. I'll report back on my progress as it becomes available.

Happening often to me. The search continues. I've now uninstalled adfree. I'm positive this is an app since I had it occur on stock after two weeks of using the phone and installing crap.

I had the same problem on my previous Captivate and am having it now on the GS III; no rhyme or reason to the reboots that I can see.
I still have heat problem but I played w/ different settings to see what it is.... I had att s3 which got really really hot... So returned it for Verizon s3. Verizon is better but learned that the data (lte/s3) makes it really hot and battery drain. Also the screen, of course.
If you're rooted then go get Phone info and disable lte. I tried CDMA auto for Verizon and it got much better... But at lowered download speed. I change it when I speed the speed... Doesn't require reboot so it's easy to change.
U can also under clock using setCPU.
I don't need it to be fast normally except when playing games... So just have it at 384min and 1024max... I find this helps allot w/ heat as well... U can try and find your setting that's acceptable speed and heat.
Just sharing my experience here.... So good luck.

Happens here too with the T-Mobile GS3. I think they rushed their fabrication process to deliver a high volume and fubared a few hardwarewise. I've even had it lockup/freeze once when not even in the OS but just in the recovery menu's. But yeah, the usual is a totally random unpredictable hot reboot throwing out my resident programs, homescreen, ect. Starts with the screen being frozen and not accepting input, then a short vibration, then back to homescreen reloading and all regular apps and widges that are supposed to run at boot load again. It's as if there's a micro static short or something. Anyway, I'm sick of problem solving and looking through logcats. Going back in for warranty. This is a dream phone except for this ultra annoying bug that it seems not many people have.

Happened to me once or twice (that I noticed) in the two weeks before I rooted (stock UCALEM), and a few more times after. It's just TouchPiz being pizzy. Maybe someone can catch the logcat, but there's nothing we can do about it (except install a better ROM )
How would anyone be able to diagnose this BS
"OK. My phone is hot. And it randomly reboots".
"Crap - u r out of luck buddy. Go change ur damn phone".
Provide ur phone model, ROM version, apps installed. Check ur battery stats.
As a solution - flash any custom ROM which removes bloatware.
I've had the DNA since 11/21 and I'm surprised more people are not complaining about the phone freezing up and rebooting?
I saw the other post about DNA problems and he mentioned Chrome causing the problem. My DNS froze running Chrome as well so I uninstalled that but it still freezes up when I am in the Mail and Gmail application. It does not happen with a certain action in any application so I am not sure why it keeps freezing up and then rebooting.
I do not have a lot of apps but I am using UCCW, Simi Battery Widget, and Android Pro Widgets on my homescreens. Other than those widgets I pretty much only use the Internet browser, camera, phone, Play Music, and Facebook.
Is anyone else having the same problem with their DNS randomly freezing and rebooting?
I don't think it's a phone issue, but more of an app issue? Remember not all apps are truly compatible with this phone as of yet. Sure, you might be able to download the app you want, but it may not play nice with this new device. I say start fresh, do a factory reset, and add apps all over again. I tend to stay away from apps like UCCW, BW, and so on as I think those are not really ready for this phone. Of course I could be wrong though?
If the problem occurs after the factory reset, I say exchange it for a new one, and hope it's a good phone.
Good Luck!
I discovered the same thing yesterday but luckily I was able to duplicate back to Any.DO. So I just step carefully around the app where it works.
I am using Power Widget and Beautiful Widgets on my home screen with no issues so far.
I would take the previous posters recommendations.

I just thought it was weird because I really don't run that many apps and like minimal style homescreens. I had the Galaxy Nexus and used to run all different types of ROMs (CM10, AOKP, Jelly Belly, Paranoid Android, etc.) (4.1, 4.1.2, 4.2) and I never had an issue with that phone freezing up like the DNA.
No problem here

I have two DNA's, picked them up on 11/21. As of yet neither have had any issues, even the batteries have performed better than expected. I actually ditched the razr maxx hd. Maybe its a manufacturer issue, exchanging it shouldn't be an issue.

I saw the demo at the Verizon store randomly reboot for no apparent reason. This was early on the day it was released, and I don't think they had added any apps yet. I clenched my teeth and bought it anyway. So far, so good.

if you are rooted, you can delete system apps using titanium, root explorer, etc, etc.
Personally, if a brand new phone is having reboots after a hard reset, it would be getting exchanged.

Why did you ditch the RAZR?
I am considering the DNA or the Razr as my next unit.
i have been dealing w/the reboots and freezing now more and more each day. sucks i'm not sure wats causing this to happen.i'm rooted and still on stock jellybean..could it be a kernel or something cause this really didnt start to happend til i changed kernels.
the only i noticed is a few of my apps were not compatible. some apps will run until i select a certain action then fc. some apps start but then shut right down. these apps just arent for the dna yet its ok delete and repeat lol
99% chance Its your kernel. The guys are doing a great job with the new kernels, but only one has been truly stable. DSB's first kernel is the only stable one I am aware of (aside from stock). I am currently on his 1.2.5 and it seems stable, but not 100% sure just yet.

Not sure yet. I've got it installed, but it's still in "Learning Mode" (and will be for another day and half). Once it "learns" enough, in theory it will kill background apps syncing, from what I gather. It doesn't sound new or revolutionary, but I'm going to give it a try anyhow and see how it works out. I probably won't have any results for a week or so.

I tried it but didn't like it. For any of your push apps it never learned even though I went into settings and change things around. But I would still not get gmail and aqua mail on a regular basis. If you don't have a lot of push stuff this could be a decent app as I did not notice battery life improving a little. But I need push and it had serious issues with it.
Great phone so far but all of my purchased apps are not showing that I bought them. I've been having error 927 popping up when trying to download apps. I've cleared cache and data from the Play Store and Google Play Services, even tried a factory reset, but still having the issue.
Thoughts? Is it just because I switched phones and my Google account needs to catch up?
Sent from my SM-N900P using xda app-developers app
So now it's even weirder. I can only download apps on the Play Store using 4G but I'll get the error 927 when on wifi, even though my wifi is much faster than my 4G at home.

Hi everyone, I'm a tech for sprint, I've seen a lot of Samsung Note 3's come in to our store as well as our managers note 3 that have an issue syncing an Microsoft Exchange email accounts, we've tried re-doing the email account, as well as hard resetting the devices,, emails will sync for an hour tops. All suggestions are welcome!

Root the phone and flash a custom Rom. What email client are you using? touchdown wheels great.

Well I would love to root everyone's phone. But working for sprint, we're not even allowed to work on rooted devices so that's definitely out of the question but I'll try using the touchdown app, and they are all using the stock email application on the device.

The only issue I've seen with my Exchange account is an absurdly large battery drain...
If I set it on "push", my phone is constantly on. The stay awake time for the exchange service is more or less my uptime, minus my screen on time.
I just don't use push, and have no other issues...

I know somebody with att s4 that upgraded to kk. He has same problem with exchange, very high battery drain. He tried changing settings and poll time but it still kills his battery. I'm wondering if the exchange program/service in Samsung kk has a bug that is s4/s5/n3. I wonder if there are email apps that don't rely on built in exchange app, that they have their own built in? Maybe this might save the battery? I don't know if k9 is good or not but I tried using it in the past. I'm sure there's others.
That's what I think, it all happened after the new wifi/hd voice update on the note 3. But it worked fine on the initial kk update. The one I'm still on and I have no problems lol.
Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
I use exchange all the time. No sync issues and no battery drain with push. I would start asking if they know which version of exchange server is running to see if it is isolated to one version.

I don't suspect the prl, I think it's the exchange apk on the newest kk Samsung phones. It's happening on different carriers.
KK is installed on my Note 3 with exchange set 24/7 and no battery issues.

Or one can use the EmailGoogle and Exchange2Google pair of apps, and attain everything they need with one-fourth the footprint, free of charge, syncs perfectly, and can actually see subfolders of your exchange inbox.
The app you're recommending is terrific, but quite the beast and most certainly not the best choice for all.
It is, as noted, an awesome app.
