[Q] market: how to use tablet app on phones - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi to all, I searched over the internet but found no solution.. a friend of mine needs a tablet designed app to run on his android phone (not rooted galaxy s2). Is it possible to achieve this? The market says that the device is not compatible with the app, but I suppose is a dpi issue but don't know how to fix it..
Thanks in advance for the help!

I dont have the link but i can recommend a differnt app that works better. clearcheckbook would always lock up on 3g and never worked for me.
Try: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nastro.checkshare&hl=en
It pretty basic right now but it does the job. It also support sync between two phone. Even android to apple or vis versa.

(Q) Market package not signed properly, not installed. Can this be solved?

Hi, Im using ericks latest 2.1 rom with Z kernal.
When trying to download Asphualt HD (5) from the android market (paid version) upon installing im getting package not signed properly. I wondered if that because of the build number and a couple of other things had been changed in the build.prop (the rom has moddifed values) causing this so I changed it to look stock (apart from the kernal one) which hasn't helped.
Some ideas would be more than welcome to get past 'package not signed properly'. I have paid for it legit from the market and want to use it.
Bump?

I've experienced the problem but I have no solution. I get that problem with Launcher Pro. Try speaking with the developer of said application. I never bothered to try this idea but it might help.
Just e-mail the developer... I don't see any solution for this
Thanks for responding, i didnt think there was a solution. I have emailed gameloft twice and im waiting for a reply for them also.

Google Play "Missing Apps" Issue (AGAIN!)

Hello,
My problem is identical to the one show here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377514
Basically, when you go to "My Apps" in google play, it just says "Applications and Games owned by this account will appear here."
I am unable to download previously purchased apps.
I have tried ALL the solutions on that thread to no avail.
It happened after I upgraded my Rom to a newer version (hydrogenics 23/03 to 25/03) but I doubt it is ROM related, since flashing back to the backup of my 23/03 rom does not resolve the problem.
My Google Play app is on the latest version (3.5.15) which is supposed to solve this issue.
I am really desperate and at a loss. Anyone can help?
I would be super super grateful for any form of help.
No one can help?

Did you get any help on this? I'm in the same situation in Nairobi.
Yeah i found a solution.. download market enabler from play store and this app allows you to emulate a us carrier hence allowing you to download the eos remote..

Is it possible to root without Connecting to PC?

l lost my USB cord that came with my tablet. l can still charge it with an aftermarket charger, but I have no usb connector to plug into a computer. I have a stock unrooted ice cream sandwich tablet. Is there anyway to root it without a USB cord?

I think you can through mobile Odin app. I have not used it but I read somewhere that it works.

You can't use mobile Odin because it requires root access. AFAIK, there is no way to root it without USB.

Solution
It is possible. You need to use an app not found on the Play Store, and get it using an APK file. The play store is basically a storage place in the cloud for loads of APKs, and it can install them, too. However you can also download these from the internet and run them to install them. These will let you root your phone with one click in the app. There are many of these available. With every app there is always the risk of bricking your tablet, but this is minimal. If you then want to get a custom ROM, you will want an app called ROM Manager.

Hey dude, first of all, ROM Manager is in the play store. Second, it needs root to flash the recovery.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Find an app that can root for you, then get ROM Manager. You can't post links when you're under 10 posts

Do you know any app that can root? I'd be very interested to find out.

If there is an apk that could root my tablet, i'd be soooo happy...:silly:
I found one on my HTC Hero that did the trick. I don't think it was on the play store though... I think it's called Universal Androot
Framaroot doesn't work. I don't know what other .apk there is to try.

Achieved
I recently wanted to ROOT my Samsung GT-P7500 and upon trolling the web, I came upon this website. So i went about searching and failng to find a suitable answer, I researched a bit and found an easy way to ROOT my tablet.
Being an owner of 2 Samsung products, Galaxy S3 (SPH-L710) and an Galaxy Express (SGH-I437), I had ROOTED both these cell phones using KingrootV4.82. It's really simple, push button rooting.
