Do I need to back up my imei number on my Verizon note 2? If so, what is the preferred way.

no its not needed...the s3 efs/nv data back up was corrupted from the factory. thats why folks lost imei randomly when flashing roms. this is not a issue on the note2.

Switched from galaxy nexus to galaxy note 2, and popped in the simcard from the galaxy nexus.
However only getting 3g, no 4g? My galaxy nexus always had perfect 4g coverage too

if so do this
have you tried flashing the new radio ???

and before flashing download AFV from the app store to check the md5 that way you can do everything from your device

this is odd because ive been having issues connecting to 4g today as well. sometimes no 3g or 4g in which i would never had an issue. txting has been flawless.

So my buddy is selling a Verizon galaxy note 2 and I was gonna buy it for my girl, but its been turned off by verizon. I was thinking about taking the sim out and putting it on straight talk, with one of there tmo or at&t sim cards. But idk if that would work. Anyone have any ideas?

I see people posting about using bad ESN phones on straight talk all the time. I'm not brave enough to try it, but apparently somebody is making it work.
I pulled the trigger and grabbed super cheap so if this doesnt work ill just use it on wifi. I have the sim installed and everything, but im getting an error when sending calls or text so idk ill see wbat i can figure out.

Can you let everyone know what you had to do please?
I used an apn unlock mod I believe and just stuck the sim in and put in the correct apn settings and it worked.

Im in need of a new sim card and Verizon requires me to bring me device to them to install and activate my new sim. I have SS installed with jelly beans running. Should I be worried about what's Ribot on my phone? Should I ODIN back to stock just to get a new sim? Should I just say f it and bring my phone in the way it is?

I would just call customer service and say that you want it mailed. Tell them you didnt like the customer service at the store and dont want to go back. They will mail it.

No. T-moble is a GSM carrier. Sprint is CDMA the radios won't pick up each others signal

Yes they will as this is a world phone ie gsm too.... but sprint has to internationally unlock it and then you need to do the domestic unlock hack ... and before you waste my time responding again no the only way to have it unlocked is by sprint doing it ... they will not do it if it's a bad esn phone or if the phone doesn't meet certain criteria ....ie on a account for last 90 days etc
