Hey guys.
I've had my T-Mobile G2 Touch for a while now, however, I've since changed contracts to Tesco Mobile.
My phones unlocked, and signals perfect, although they'res one small problem, through T-Mobile I had mobile internet on, working perfectly when it felt like it wanted too, but since I've been with Tesco I haven't had any Mobile Internet access.
It's probably down to the settings on the phone, but so far I've had no avail with finding an issue towards the problem.
Hopefully someone out there can find the solution or have had a similar problem.
settings --> wireless settings --> mobile network settings --> Access Point names. You need to get the settings to put in there. (google is your friend)
Dont forget to press menu --> SAVE once done, pressing "BACK" will not save your settings.
I've found some settings, however, I've managed to get no where, my phone thinks that I'm now on 02's network, which I know tesco uses, but still to no avail.
Hi, I'm on Tesco mobile and have full 3G access.
I did only get GPRS and EDGE, turns out my SIM was faulty, i have a brand new 3G SIM and can confirm 3G works.
Here are my APN settings:
Name: Tesco
APN: prepay.tesco-mobile.com
Username: tescowap
password: password
I haven't tried MMS yet but here's my settings.
MMSC: prepay.tesco-mobile.com
MMS Proxy: 193.113.200.195
MMS Port: 8080
MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0
Hope that helps.
Thanks so much!
Works perfectly now!
Hi, I have a Stock T-Mobile HTC One with no Root using the stock APN below
APN: fast.t-mobile.com
APN Type: default,supl,admin,hipri
And my speeds on HSPS+ are super slow no more then 3.0MB
But when I'm using this APN settings bellow
APN: epc.t-mobile.com
APN Type: default,supl,admin,mms,hipri
I get 10.0MB UP to 20.MB but wont send any MMS. Has anyone run into similar issues on the HTC One? Is there a fix for MMS.
Thanks

I hope I am not intruding here, but this thread is the closest to what I am looking for (stock) and I figured that any one of you could probably answer this question.
I do not have direct access to the phone and need to pass this on to my son, so please dont skip any steps, assuming knowledge. I have never even held an HTC phone yet. My son absolutely loves it though and has me intrigued. ?
Anyway, he has an "HTC One" that he purchased here in the USA, at a T-Mobile store.
I know that with my Samsung, there is not only the Samsung line name (Note 2), but there is also a specific Model # that Sprint puts into the phone (in my case, SPH-L900). And then, even from there, it divides up further into US & International versions, each with its own model #, even within the same carrier.
I am thinking that maybe it is the same for the HTC One line?
My son looked in the Info" screen, but all it says is "HTC One" and nothing else.
Please, where should he go to find this information?
Or is this not relevant in the HTC world?
He wants to stay with the Factory ROM, but Root it. I know applying the wrong tools can quickly brick a phone.
Can someone help me with this please? Once I have the right tool, then I can take it from there. Thanks!

tried for fun
Tried the epc APN out of curiousity..it was 4G only. I guess if you live in a HSPA or LTE are, the "fast" APN is what you want. I now have a different APN to try though when traveling. This is in the Hampton Roads, VA area

HTC One
i know this thread is old and it might not be the right place but i have a rooted and SIM unlocked Sprint HTC that I have my t-mobile SIM card in and I can make calls send text fine but i cant get the data working correctly. Under APN i have a default one that is locked that is
Name: T-Mobile US LTE
APN: fast.t-mobile.com
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN type: default,supl,admin,hipri,mms
and both protocols are IPv4
now it says im connected to data and i have arrows with an H above them that sometimes flashes 3G but when i try and connect to the web i get an error that says Authentication via the proxy server was unsuccessful. Now ive tried adding over APNs with fast.tmobile.com fast.t-mobile.com epc.tmobile.com with same everything except APN type ive tried blank, just defualt, the same as I have above minus the mms and nothing seems to work. And it seems i dont even connect to data till I added another APN called T-Mobile data but ive since erased it and still shows connected but I get the proxy error. Should also add im running the lastest version on InsertCoin 4.4. Please help

Has that SIM worked successfully in any android phone? Might be as easy as calling tmobile and having them reprovision your SIM. Everything above looks correct for an unmodified apn.

The only other two things I can think of that might work are go into the APN settings and click 'reset to default' reboot and see if it works. And try registering on another carrier in the network operators menu - you should get an error that your SIM isn't supported and then manual re-register on T-Mo.
Hi Everyone,
Before I left the states for my trip, I added on global roaming plan. It was like $30 for 100MB or something as pathetic as that.
Given that I am running the latest CM nightly, I could not get it to connect to the Internets.
I bought a T-Mobile HR sim in Croatia and that worked quite well.
However, when I got to France, and got an Orange FR SIM, I could not re-up as you have to register the SIM card. 35euro down the drain!!
So now, I would like to see if there is some APN info I need to set up for my Verizon SIM card in order to get global roaming to work.
If anyone could point me in the right direction of a solution I would greatly appreciate it!
I'll be in France for the next 5 days, and will be riding bikes, so having a map and drive directions are a key.

If you are able to add an APN which I believe you can on a CM rom check out this website. There are a couple different settings for Orange sims and this was the generic. Settings for Orange - France
From this website, http://www.unlockit.co.nz/mobilesettings/settings.php?id=49 These are the settings to enable to use Data, MMS and WAP services on a mobile phone on the Orange's mobile network in France.
I haven't been able to test this myself but ran into your same problem a couple months ago in France with an Orange sim. If this works please let me know for the future.

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten it to work
Ah well, I'm back in the States, so it does not matter much anymore.
If anyone needs 10euro worth of data for their Orange F prepaid, I have a code for you.
For future reference you wouldn't use Verizon's global plan with a local sim..,it would be one or the other. To roam, you just turn the phone on using your regular sim...the phone will pick up whatever network Verizon has a roaming agreement with. If you want to use a local sim (generally a much cheaper option as 100MB for $25 is terrible) you will only connect to that network and will get a local phone number etc.
From my Note 2 running Beans 21
I have tmobile when inserted the simcard in my z2 I've noticed that I'm not getting any internet connection so i went to Setting/wireless and networks/internet setting and downloaded all the files then I went to mobile netword and changed it to 4G Tmobile, starting that day I keep losing connection every time I have to go to mobile network and change it manually although it's set on automatic, most of teh times 4g doesn't work and I have to set it to 3g... it's really annoying
In your dial pad type in *#*#info#*#* (numbers for info)
Go to phone info
Scroll down
Select prefered network mode
Select LTE or an option for local with
Go back to your network settings and see if 4G shows up
If not change your mode back to what it was before and call tmobile because they may have to sort some issues out for you

go to your network settings, when tmobile USA shows up with 4G click it to register, once thats done, go back a menu and click on network mode and change it to LTE/HSPDA/GSM (or what ever bands are used in USA)
you should have data connection but 4G depends on how good Tmobile USA Coverage is
You may need to call TMo and ask them to do whatever they do in the backend to reset the phone to network connection. Another thing is to look at TMo support site for the correct APN settings. In my case, data was perfect but MMS would not work because the phone settings were incorrect. Basically, call TMo. They will even email you the settings.
One last thing. Try airplane mode off then on and see it that helps.

One thing I would do, is to call T-Mobile and register the IMEI so they can provision the unit. The settings on their end may have something which is preventing it to connect to it based on a previous phone's capabilities.
-----------------
I had something similar similar but it was with AT&T. In my case, it would not connect to LTE at all as it would stick on HPSA. This was because I had a S3 (UK version), which was only capable of HSPA+, and I had registered the IMEI with them prior.
I had a lot of problems getting my Z2 to work on T-Mobile as well. I finally used the following settings to get everything to work.
Create 2 APNs, the first should have the Following Settings:
Name: T-Mobile
APN: fast.t-mobile.com
Proxy: 216.155.165.050
Port: 8080
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/
MMS proxy: 216.155.165.50
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN Type: defaul,supl,admin,dun,mms
APN Protocol: IPv4
APN Roaming Protocol: IPv4
Now create a second APN with the following settings:
Name: T-Mobile GPRS
APN: epc.tmobile.com
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN Protocol: IPv4
APN Roaming Protocol: IPv4
With both of those created, go to your list of APNs and make sure your first one (T-Mobile) is selected.
These settings fixed my problems, hope you get it worked out.

I had a similar issue, is that why my phone doesn't have signal with tmobile cause I have to register the IMEI?

It is likely, make sure the internet/mms settings are downloaded too.
Once the IMEI is registered, they will able to see what phone it is and enable the proper features which the phone is capable of.
I heard it's best to let them know as the IMEI as well because they could flag the unauthorized phones and reject it from being connected the carrier.

Well I'm all honesty, I think you should have just bought the tmobile version because that is the one that comes unlocked. As for your signal problem, have you tried asking tmobile on how to do it? Or maybe you can look up YouTube videos on how to do so

I heard that verizon g3 does work on tmobile and it works for everyone. AM not sure if i missed out on some steps.
It works. If it doesn't work the only thing I would say is to check if the imei is clean and not reported blacklisted.
If that's good, then toggle the gsm setting from utms/gsm/lte to global and see of that helps

I have an version lg g3 on tmobile from Verizon. You are missing the apn settings you need to manually enter possibly?
swap down from the top of the screen and hold the data circle icon - this will bring you to mobile networks. Select Access point names.
add a new apn.
Name: T-mobile LTE
apn: Fast.T-mobile.com (don't forget the -)
proxy: not set
port: not set
username: not set
passowrd: Not set
server: not set
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc

mms port: not set
mcc: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type: not set
APN Type: default,supl,mms
Apn Protocol: ipv6
Apn roaming protocol: ipv4
Save.
Also in system select, I use LTE/GSM/UMTS mode.
Global mode works, but i cant send text messages through native app. So i use lte/gsm/umts mode so i can send texts.
I also downloaded the T-mobile visual voice app for visual voicemail
