I'm walking around to some bars last night, you know, just minding my own business, and I decided to check my phone on the way back to the car. I had previously installed Atom Launcher the two days before, and I've been playing with it ever since. Then I had to install the update for Beats Installer so Beats will work in Spotify - I need to listen to some jams, and the Beats stuff does help a bit.
The installer said it needed to reboot. I'm all, "Okay. It needs a reboot anyhow." (I usually hit cancel. I guess I should have again.)
So it reboots.
No lock screen. Can't unlock my way in. The only way is to slide down the notification bar, go into settings, then press the home button.
Okay! I'm on the home screen! Let's open up Spotify so I can listen to some jams on my way home. Yeah! Wait. No audio? And now it's randomly rebooting?!
Vigor 360 1.1, you had one job. You're going to make me have to go back to Infeffabilis Deus 1.2!
And so I did, reluctantly.
Can anyone give me a possible solution? Also, before it's asked, everything Sense-wise has been uninstalled (launcher, weather, etc.). I do not have a single clue why or how, as I didn't authorize that action.

If you're gonna de-sensify, unless you need some specific feature, consider just going to an AOSP rom.
I'd check the Vigor 360 1.1 thread to see if anyone else has had this issue, not sure why you'd ever leave the Dues if you want a Sense based rom though..
its looks to me that ur system files has been corrupt
try reflash without wipe
hope it will help

Well, I didn't want to de-sensify, per se. I like the features of Sense, it adds on to the system (and the camera software is better than in AOSP). I did start getting better battery life with Vigor360 and that's one reason why I switched to it, though my only issue with it was that Google Play Services would not install, which caused some minor annoyances. But I'll be sticking to Deus again, as I did before.

I was figuring as much. I just didn't know if there was a way to fix that. I could probably crack open the ROM zip and replace the files, but I have no clue how well that would work out. lol
Unless the dev is doing something in the installer script to force a wipe, a dirty flash will only wipe and replace your /system partition.

I use NEO 2.0.. it has the BEST battery life of any Rezound Rom to date... I'm an Audio junkie as well.. I use Bluetooth headphones and battery life is awesome. Plus It's a desensed Rom but you still have the Sense camera and music player.

I'm having an issue with every rom except the stock rom with the phone automatically rebooting itself while doing simple tasks and showing a green screen. I tried enabling force gpu rendering etc but still getting this. Though with any stock roms (default rogers rom + the jb 4.1.2 for att etc) i dont occur this issue. What could be the problem?
Yeah this happens wayyy to often on 4.2.2 roms a little bit less on 4.1.x roms.

This is usual since we do not have the kernel source to make ROMS stable and not reboot. 4.2.2 ROMs are more stable then 4.1.2 so idk what you did there.

Rebooting on 4.2 ROMS
I'm having the same problem as OP with my i717 It happens bad on all of the 4.2 ROM's I've tried, and I know it's not the ROM. So far I've tried: Slim, Supernexus, CM10.1,ReVolt all of which I love! I really want to fix this. I start a game or other app and get a wildly flashing green, blue or sometimes black screen and then she reboots. Usually when opening a game or instagram, but not limited to those apps. It's hard for me to replicate the symptoms. Anyone else struggling with these symptoms on 4.2 roms? It seems less often on 4.1.2 ROM. When I restore a Blackstar ICS setup from twrp the phone runs beautifully. I've used darkside super-wipe hoping that would help. I've also tried changing recovery. Now I'm running out of things to try. I feel like somethings not being cleaned properly before install but I'm new so I don't really know.
Should I try using ODIN to flash a stock jelly bean firmware in order to sort of "start over fresh"?
I wish I could explain to everyone better my problem.

1) AOSP is unofficial so these is going to happen. 2) Is your screen flickering? 3) if so check HW overlays in dev options.

It happens to PACman ROMs too, try listening to music while attempting to cause the crash.. .There will be a loud beeping sound, followed by the greenish-blue screen, then the device will shut off, and reboot
I got the crash on trying to wake the device to unlock, and grabbed a logcat using Catlog.
When I first tried the Hyperdrive ROM, it was RLS4. I was experiencing touchwiz crashes periodically, so I switched back to Synergy ROM in the hopes that this wouldn't occur once Hyperdrive had been updated. I've recently flashed Hyperdrive RLS5.7 and I'm experiencing the exact same touchwiz crashes. I'm not sure how to fix them, but it's making the ROM all but unusable for me. I really like all of the features, but it's back to Synergy until I can figure this out. Can anyone help me out with these crashes? If I can't get this resolved, does anyone know of any alternative ROMs with similar customization and functionality? Thanks for any and all help.

What exactly is crashing on you and when is it crashing ie what are you doing?
First off, I'd just like to thank you for trying to help as I realize that after all of the work you've already done on this ROM you're in no way obligated to help me out, and I appreciate that.
I'm having Touchwiz crash on me (it becomes unresponsive and then pops up with a message before resetting itself) whenever I try to move an application or remove one from a page. I've considered that this may be a conflict with my previous ROM, Synergy, as it has an extra row of apps on each page. I wipe everything multiple times before flashing, but I use Titanium Backup which may store app layout data. I have nothing to support that guess, its just a theory of mine.
I'm running LiquidSmooth v3.0 Beta (LS-KK-v3.0-2014-02-13-dlx) on my Verizon DNA and I'm pretty happy with it. Big thanks to deadman96385, santod040, and anyone else who contributed to this project!
This is the first custom ROM I've run as a "daily driver" on my DNA after ~16 months on the stock ROM, so most of my impressions are in comparison with the most recent stock HTC software. I briefly tried CyanFox but switched back to stock. I also tried the "HTC One *STOCK* ROM Port" (DLX_WL_K442_SENSE55_MR_4.19.401.8) but couldn't get it to boot; actually flashing it messed up my recovery as well. I suspect maybe my download was corrupted since other people reported success with that ROM.
Back to LiquidSmooth:
- Perceived performance is generally pretty solid. It's mostly very smooth, living up to its name.
- I do get the occasional app crash (FC); haven't noticed a pattern yet. It's not frequent enough to bother me much.
- A few times I have had the phone become unresponsive when opening the recent apps view or when trying to unlock from the lock screen. But this hasn't happened in a few days. Could be the freezing was related to one of the features I tried and later disabled (see below), or just due to the ROM "settling in" (populating caches, etc.)
- Love KitKat and the add-on features:
- I'm using the "pie control" for quick access to apps, quick screen off, menu access, etc.
- I tried HALO and couldn't really figure it out / didn't find it useful.
- I like the idea of Active Display but it didn't work that well in combination with the way I use the lock screen, so I turned it off and use the lock screen's built-in active display features instead.
- I'm using the default Google Now launcher for the moment. I like the easy access to voice search and google now. Don't like that it doesn't have multi-touch for dragging icons between home screens.
I think the battery is draining faster than with the stock ROM, though it's hard to say because I've also been using the phone a lot more actively while I get it set up and configured the way I want. It may be that the active display feature of the lockscreen is using more power?
People in the development forum mention an over-the-air (OTA) update mechanism; I haven't been able to find that yet.
There's a new version posted called 03-05-14; I haven't tried that version yet.
Anyway, I'm quite happy with this ROM and imagine I'll stick with it for a while. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, fast, stable ROM, and in particular to anyone freshly rooted and looking for a solid ROM to try out KitKat and get a lot of great new features.
(note—maybe it would have made more sense to put this directly in the existing LiquidSmooth development thread, but I don't have permission to post there. And I'm not developing the ROM, just using it.)
Thanks again! Great ROM.
How much did they pay you? LOL
I tried it as well as all of the other KK AOSP ROMS. I really like AOSP.
I was on stock until viperDNA 2.0 came out, then I decided to S=OFF/ROOT/etc... and plugged Viperware in. It was awesome. Not an issue ever. So I wanted to give 3.0 a try, after trying every ROM out there (actually it kinda became like crack to me LOL).
So far after several days, it's 5x5, not an issue at all. On my phone, only the Viperware works as advertised.
That's not to say that Viperware doesn't have its issues, but I just haven't seen any yet. As I said I really like AOSP, but because Viperware uses Aroma installer, I can delete almost everything - which gives it a kind of AOSPishy look/feel.
My sig hits it; these developers (ALL of them) are amazing and do all of this for US on their own time for FREE. If I were a kagillionaire, I'd employ you ALL.
Hah! Thanks Yehuda. I started this thread because I wish there were more ROM reviews here on xda, since I don't really have time to try out every ROM. I appreciate your review of ViperDNA; maybe I'll try that next.
Update on LiquidSmooth: after a week or so I found that it wasn't as clean as I originally thought and went back to (rooted) stock for a while.
Hey guys, just wanted to share.
I tried many roms (PA, CM, Omni, S5 Sensations etc) and I always find something missing/not working properly.
sometimes its the battery draining too fast, sometimes just random crashes and so on.
I'm thinking of going back to stock. I have the i9300 and the latest stock one is 4.3 (boooooo).
Has anyone done this route before? someone here also gone back from roms to stock?
Will be nice to hear others opinion.
Thanks :cyclops:

Even stock ROMs can be plagued by similar issues to be honest.
To minimise the irritations I always clean flash any ROM that I install and restore only apps, not data.
I'm currently rocking this stock based KK ROM port:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-qs-i9300-kk-t2755841
with version 6.2 of this kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/kernel-boeffla-kernel-5-2-27-03-2014-t1964572
without any problems, it is certainly no less stable or functional than pretty much every factory Samsung ROM I have ever used.
If you do want to go back to 4.3 stock based ROM, I have always found Imperium http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37656328&postcount=2 to be pretty much perfect as a reliable, stable daily driver, using the stock kernel with a moderate profile (set in Aroma) I could easily get the thick end of 2 days off a charge under light use but with wifi always on and a bunch of apps like eBay, K9, Gmail, BBC weather syncing in the background.

Hey, you nailed it - main lag is within camera, gallery & dialer.
in Touchwiz i imminently replace the stock dialer with eXdialer, and the stock gallery with QuickPic.
I also been trying almost all the 4.3./4.4/5.02 but 4.3 stock base is the most stable and trouble free rom for me .
I cant stand whenever you want to snap a important picture the camera crash and need to restart.or phone freeze .
My favourites are 1- SMART DROID Simple v9.9 2-JustArchi_I9300XXUGNG3 3-NCSSROM NK2
#1 & 3 are heavily debloated + CROSSBREEDER it flys

what about multitasking in stock rom??
have you come across any stock rom with proper multitasking?
when i use stock rom almost all apps reload while multitasking (even with lot of free ram)
