I would like to add a reboot to recovery option to the power menu on my galaxy s3 sph-l710. I have seen quite a few power menu mods for other roms, however cannot find a way to do it on a touchwiz ROM. I have spent the better part of a week in searching and working with files on my system. I cannot use the standard "how to" i have been coming across because I am stopped by the lack of a shutdown thread smali that others seem to be changing.
I am not asking for this to be done for me, I just need a little help getting headed in the right direction. I am on stock rooted 4.1.2 sph-l710 galaxy s3
So to make a short story long,
where should I search next?
Am I trying something that's even possible?
Where do I look since I'm so in love with touchwiz?
Thank you for reading this, any help is greatly appreciated

Hi,
I may be being really dense, but I can't find an option to remove/change the toggles in the notification area... I use some (like wifi, bluetooth, brightness), but have no need for ones like power saving, sync etc.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Thanks!

I'm assuming you are on stock rom, if so you cant. Custom roms like Omega have 15 toggle mod you can add or remove whatever you like.

Thanks for the answer
Yes I am currently on stock ROM - I used CM9 nightlies for ages on my S2 but didn't like them as much as the S3 stock. Maybe I'll try Omega (have recently installed the kitchen part of it anyway)
Would you say Megga is better than CM in your opinion?
It's impossible to say if a rom is better or not. I've been using AOKP roms on my galaxy S II but I can now say I like original Samsung roms more on the S III, I even use touchwiz which would've been unthinkable on the S II. I'm on Omega Rom. It's basically stock but with upgrades. Been using other roms for a few hours too because Im a flashaholic but keep Nandroid-ing back to Omega. First time Samsung did a great job on interface IMO
Well that sounds good, I'll give it a go later, thanks
Out of interest, does Omega have the ability to cancel an app by long-press of the back key? That's something I miss from CM9...
Fyi, here's how to change/remove the toggles...

No, it doesn't but as you probably know, long press home and press Task Manager let's you kill tasks.
I liked the idea of long press back key, but was never happy with the execution - I was constantly killing apps that I didn't want to by tapping back too quickly. Clearly CM wasn't checking that you were holding back, but rather that it was pressed at the start and end of a certain time period.

Thanks for the reply... I actually used it a lot with CM9 and found it very useful, but not the end of the world to not have it!
My sister's Samsung Vibrant has problems: The soft-keys(I mean back, menu, etc) are not working. Is there any rom for Vibrant that has on-screen (software?) buttons like Galaxy Nexus?

Yes. There may be a zip file. I'll see if I can locate it or whatever I'm talking about after dinner.
Update. Scratch the previous entry in my post. I wasnt able to locate a zip. Maybe it was a build.prop edit. At any rate, I can confirm that Paranoid Android has them. Its an option under Settings>System>Navigation Bar.
PA is an amazing ROM btw.
You were just sliced bread before you were burnt by the toaster.
There are also a couple of apps that put virtual buttons on your screen. I'll try and find the link, here you go http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...tICIBQ&usg=AFQjCNEF1MSo1VBHfVuIQ7sWBpWikJp_8A. That is a root version, if your sister isn't rooted then just Google. They have versions that don't need root access too.

Its called Navigation Bar, roms like CM, AOKP And Slim have it, you can enable it in the settings.

I don't know how to create custom ROMs but here i will give some good suggestions and ideas. The Rom should be create on the latest firmware XXMC1, The TouchWiz 3.0 icons should be replaced with S4 Icons, Why? Because it's better when we don't have Launcher runing in Task Manager it will be good to have 5 icons in the dock. Wallpapers from the S4 (not in huge resolution but the size like in the stock wallpapers size) Stock apps because they are original, in About phone should be put the original picture from S4 and to be typed "Jelly Bean 4.2" nothing more because it's stupid and noobish writing "Custom ROM by Manlymanofdoom40241" Scrollable Notification bar or one just like in CM 10.1 :fingers-crossed:

So you made a new thread altogether to give suggestions for a Rom which doesnt even exists?
So let's see, u want a s4 like rom if i'm not wrong.
First u should have asked about this in discussion thread, u would have got better answers.
Now since u made a thread for requesting a rom. Put a [request] in thread title, so that misunderstanding remains minimum.
Ask requests in polite way not like u are commanding someone.
Please don't flame each other, this is discussion section, keep it healthy!
Now about your requests
U can take the launcher from sgs3 v4 rom(when it is released), it has 5 dock icons
To change about phone settings edit build.prop file in system/
Scrollable notification bar, it think u are talking about grid view.
Developers are working on it so have patience.
Most of ur requests can be filled through sgs3 v4 rom. Wait for it!

BTW, if you're interested in learning how to make a custom ROM, there are a few tutorials here and in the development section that are more than enough for you to implement your ideas, which are fairly simple.
More generally, assuming good faith is always recommended. One can see any comment as aggressive otherwise.
I tried to create rom but seems i don't have great knoweldge...

As I've said, the tutorials cover everything you want and are more than enough even if you don't know anything, as long as you're willing to learn.
If we just search on Google or here in xda we will find our answers.
Stop creating unnecessary threads.

Hello everyone.
I have a few questions after i recently installed this wonderful ROM on my S3:
1) When i try to change the color of the Notification panel clock, Network bars and Wi-Fi signal nothing happens (Using the Wanam Xposed Application). The only thing i can change is the batter icon colors. Is this a bug that can be changed later or am i doing something wrong? (Didn’t see an option to change the alarm clock color icon as well )
2) I have installed the ROM using the Imperium logo when you boot your phone but although its very nice its a bit noise when starting up. I have looked in the Imperium ROM features but i couldn’t find the stock Samsung startup logo in the download options. Can i get the stock startup logo and sounds? If not which one do you recommend downloading that is less noisy?
3) In all my stupidity i have installed the ROM with the stock music player (should have picked Apollo ) and not i regret it. Is there any way to get installed? Also, when i installed the ROM i thought i saw a sound mod that made the sound clearer or something cant remember what it was. Does this mod runs by default with any player or do i need a special kind of player to benefit from it. If so how do i get it?
I really appreciate all your help and im sorry about the noob questions
Thank you and regards.

Oh and i forgot to mention one more thing: when you press the Home button while youre in an application it doesnt go directlly to your Home screen tab but the tab where you were before starting the application. Is there an option for this as well?
Im sry to post here and i guess ppl who can help about this are mostly on the development thread but i have tryed to post there but im not allowed since im a new user
So can anyone please help with the above points or do i really need to make 10 posts so in can write in the developers thread where i should have been asking in the first place. Searching for every point of my issue on this forum is to much trouble for not to mention i dont think i would be able to find anything that specific.
Please try imperium v21. I tried them all ... And I mean all of the Roms .. Stock and nodded and this one is the best. Smooth as hell and no battery drain... With almost 4hrs of screen on... Battery is lasting almost 1 day.
Is the best ROM I ever used on s3 i9300. International model.
After 1 night of sleep the battery drain is 0.8%/h... Can't get anything better than this one.

I have the Imperium 2.1 rom too, and my battery is awful. over one night the battery drains 20% with nothing on (wifi etc.)
Hello,
I currently have a Galaxy S4, with a cyanogenmod, and I quite like it, but I have issues with battery life and a broken screen,...
I'm about to buy a Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro, and would like to stay near from the stock ROM (IMUI), but I really need some of the features that cyanogenmod offers.
I read a bit about customizing ROMs, but I don't know how to add features as the ability to skip songs with volume buttons, or to set brigthnes with the notification bar (long touch).
If you could help me finding my answers, by the way I can do some tests on my old Galaxy S4, before applying them to my new phone and possibly harming it...
UP[emoji14]
You are out of luck. As MIUI is closed. Sourced and developers avoid it like the plague you will find no help with doing it. You will have to accept what ever it can do.
Sadness :'( I wasn't really expecting this answer, thank you anyway for helping me
I hope I will find a solution in the future
Do u try with xposed and its modules like: gravitybox, xblast.... which provides most of extra function on custom rom . Or just control music, give a chance with poweramp, let u switch songs by longpress vol key.

I already tried xpsoed but I found it was slowing my phone and discharging my battery quicker...
I can't use Poweramp, I use Spotify... :/
