Hello all. I've been experimenting with different MMS apk's for the latest jellybam ROM. I prefer the Mms with theme settings baked in like JusTun bean or similar so that i can change the backgrounds and all. Long sort short, I can text fine but when i Trey to attach a photo, I get com.android.messaging has stopped responding and it FC's. Obviously it's a compatibility issue. Is there a workaround to this? Clearing caches doesn't help. I've attached two photos to illustrate what I mean. The MMS apk's are supposedly compatible with 4.2.2. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks all!

So I've been playing with my SG2 for a couple weeks now, getting pretty comfortable with it.
I realized when I started playing with Serendipity Rom that I could no longer send MMS messages... could receive them just fine but there was no option to attach.
Found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18727217&postcount=6 where he links to a MMS package (don't know from where) that gives this functionality back.
However, that mms.apk changes pictures into slideshows and I really don't like that.
Anyone know which mms.apk would allow me to attach pictures to my messages, and display received pictures in-line instead of slideshow?
I'm currently running H8SG2, and like it the best out of the 6 or so I've tried. Just this little MMS issue.

Download the CyanogenMod 7.1 MMS.APK which can be found here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4K7PT0AE
Replace the MMS.APK in your phones system/app folder with the one you have just downloaded & reboot phone.
This solution works for most everyone.
Good Luck!
That one has an option to attach files, thanks! Though, surprisingly, it's different than the one that comes with the ATT nightly builds for CM7 (which is what I tried earlier).
Thanks!
Hello,
I've been running the Hybrid RC6 in Tablet mode (213 DPI) for a couple of days now.
Just came across a situation where I am not able to view png files sent as an MMS. Basically another note user did a screen shot and sent it over.
I tried the stock message program, Go SMS PRo, Handscent, but to no avail.
I tried reinstalling the ROM, clearing DALVIK, clearing memory in applications.
APN settings are good. Everything else works great.
I can receive jpg MMS messages though. Just not png.
I've searched several threads, but have not been able to come up with a solution. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi, I don't know if anyone here uses ChompSMS in place of the stock messaging app. I use it so I can use emojis. Okay, onto my question. Every time I take a picture, ChompSMS force closes on me. Anyone else have this problem/know of a fix?
I noticed this issue with a lot of applications out there.
I think its due to a compatibility issue. Since the Note 2 is still new to verizon. I expect to see a update to said applications here shortly.
I've been rooted since I first picked up my i777 Galaxy S2 back in June of last year and have been swapping between different ROM's since roughly October. At some point (and I have no idea when) the camera seemed to start showing pictures taken in portrait as landscape but the issue is sporadic. Right now I'm on a touchwhiz based ROM (SHOstock3 v2.1 (most recent)) and the gallery and messaging apps will show the pictures as I took them but if I use Instagram (no matter what ROM I'm using at the time) I have to rotate the pic because it ONLY shows pics in landscape. I first discovered the problem when using the stock messaging app in Task650's AOKP ROM, but the same holds true for Rayaab's SuperNexus ROM or any other AOSP/AOKP based ROM when using the stock Google messaging app. I can use a different messaging app like Handcent when using those ROM's and pictures will show correctly but when I pick a ROM, I like to use the "stock" apps the ROM's come with for basic functions like messaging, email. I have even tried some of the camera apps from the Play Store while using the AOKP/AOSP based ROM's to see if that fixes the problem but it does not. It seems as though something has gone screwy and I have no idea when or how it might have happened. I'm hoping someone here might have some insight.
Thanks in advance.

That is just how AO*P ROMs work. They all do that. TW is the only one that works correctly in that manner BUT every image shows up as a slide show which sucks also but me personally...I'd rather have the slideshow then have every portrait image rotate.
I'm assuming instagram is the same way. I don't use it personally but my wife does and I can check with her.
I never thought you would be the one answering my question but thank you SHOman! The reason I don't think it's the ROM's is that I seem to remember using Instagram before I ever started flashing and not having to rotate pictures taken in portrait. But there again I can't recall if it was only before I started flashing different ROM's or if it was working for a while when I was using the AO*P ROM's.

I have two questions here, and the response to one may very well change my choice on the other. The problem is with my mms. I can't send them using anything but the default LG messenger app. Anything else I use will just say not sent. It does seem capable of retrieving the messages from other people though. I've tried verifying the mms setting for the APN but it all appears correct. If I remember correctly I had this issue on a previous rom as well. I'm on BarePapA v1 right now. I left AOSP and went for a stock modded ROM as I couldn't find a camera app that could correctly use the auto focus. So if by some chance the issue is the ROM itself, what would be a good replacement? I'd prefer to stick to stock nodded to keep the camera features unless there is a third party camera that would work but I don't see that being the case. If anything looks weird here it's because SwiftKey was throwing a fit and I missed it.
Thanks in advance.

If you are having apn issues throughout, it could possibly be a modem issue. Perhaps try flashing default apn settings.
