[Q] Radio help - Motorola Droid RAZR

I have a pair of Verizon XT912's. One has been flashed with the nTelos stock firmware for the XT912 that they carry and has the ability to be activated and used on the network with all functions. It also does not search for the verizon 4g SIM. I have already done a nandroid backup on that phone and wrote it to the one that had verizon stock firmware. The firmware has been changed to ntelos on that second phone, but the radio is still stuck on Verizon. What I want to know is if there is a way to copy the nTelos radio and all of its CDMA settings to the Verizon one and have everything work?

Bump.

[Q] VZW S4 to T-MO S4 - Is it possible?

Due to there being no root at the moment for the latest update MJ7, is there a way to get the Verizon S4 to work with a T-Mobile simcard. I know it has global mode on the phone, but is there a way to install tmobile rom on it or something in order to get it working like a tmobile S4?

There's lots of threads about this. For example, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46357210&postcount=1
Try searching this forum for "t-mobile".
I actually just popped in my Tmobile sim card and it told me that it is a forign sim for me to turn on Global mode, which I did. I then set up the Tmobile APN settings and got the 4G up and running.

[Q] remove flashed carrier firmware?

I had my Verizon S4 flashed to work on the Ntelos network, how can I remove their settings/ firmware?
I have followed the NC5 full wipe Odin/ tar instructions found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735172
with success, but it doesn't remove Ntelos. Its as if the phone is confused, Dialing 611 goes to Verizon, but dialing a number goes thru ntelos. Even using an active Verizon sim, the phone says carrier unknown and will not make a call on Verizon network.
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
I will have your thread moved to your device section.
Good luck!

[Q] Official SIM unlock on a rooted phone

My phone is rooted stock on the very first original ROM (forgot the version). I asked Sprint for GSM unlock, they sent the request, but it didn't go through. The "UICC unlock" option does nothing. Could it be because I'm rooted and/or on an old ROM? I didn't tell Sprint rep about the root.
Idk probably the root it mess with the system try flashtooling back to ZV4 and then try it but dont ota to ZV6 or else you'll lose root. Alsi they code/ method may be bad. What carrier are you trying to go to?

Thanks for the advise. I just figured out the problem- I froze a lot of bloat with TB, and it affected UICC. unlock. I did it a while ago, and it didn't occur to me right away to defrost before attempting to unlock.
I'm thinking about traveling to South America and want to use a local SIM card while over there.
OK well have fun, glad it works
However I'm not sure how to check that the unlock actually worked. When Sprint network is available, the phone will use it regardless of the SIM. I tried to install a T-Mobile SIM from friend's phone, and my phone came up with red X SIM icon in the status bar- the same as with no SIM.
Spring does not support unlocking.
Sprint does not support domestic sim unlocking but will allow international unlocking.
If you want to use another carrier then try out cloudyg3 1.2 rom or cm11 rom. You can use any carrier with them. Or else you have to modify your build.prop file and replace the ro.carrier.target from SPR to spr using the rom toolbox app and then you get a unlocked gsmphone.

hlteusc to hltespr

us cellular just sim unlocked my note 3 (android 4.4.2 NG5 stock unrooted rom) phone
of course the gsm radios are still disabled
I know this phone uses a sprint (hltespr) recovery (twrp for me) and I was wondering if I can do a radio swap from hltespr to hlteusc using odin after im rooted and also have the hltespr spring kitkat recovery up and running
I would really just like to convert this whole phone to a Verizon or Sprint knowing I would not be able to use it on Sprint or Verizon anyhow
this would allow me to use it as a GSM device if everything went correctly
can anyone tell me how this process can be done (either through jtag or radio swap)
thank-you
