my dillemma. i just got a cingular 8525. just found out that its rom is way older than what the current official release from cingular is. so, i guess i should be upgrading right? this being an official release?
what interests me though is ive read about other roms that would offer wm6? now, if i upgrade to these roms, and something goes wrong, will i be able to go back to the official rom by just installing it again?
ive upgraded my moto e398 with MP's, is upgrading to a homebrew rom for my 8525 the same?

lol .. definately not the same. Alot of stuff you have to do.. I temp-bricked my 8525 today by not following all the steps... <or being ignorant to a step that I needed to follow..>

sorry and i do understand your concern.. thanks for reminding me .. i have searched and actually read a lot.. way to many in fact to be ingested in one sitting.. its just the urge to just jump head first... its the excitement maybe.. but what i do is i post and i still search... and search and read.. but thank you anyway..

Well im not actually new to the pocket pc's. i have just wanted one since i was like 13 but couldn't afford the 650 bucks at the time...LOL. I have the Titan Phone from Alltel and would like some info and guides on how to flash it to some of the new mods i have seen. Im not sure how to go about flashing or backing up my phone just incase the inevitable happens as we all have experienced before...UGH..LOL. Any help would be appriciative, and mod ideas would be great too, especially the a new internet browser i have been hearing about, instead of using this damn IE. Thank you

Look at the sticky at the top of this page and read the Wiki - it tells you everything you need to know. Once you have read it, come back and ask questions if you are stuck.

Search, use it. You can use the google search to search the whole forum, or you can use the search this forum search to just search certain areas. Learn how to use it now, and you will save yourself much much trouble and flaming.
Btw, i would head over to the CDMA forum asap, as if you try and flash a gsm rom, good chance you will kill your phone.

i again send u my problum.plz help me.i have htc p3400.its old gene.i flashed it with many roms.the i downgrade it to wm5 orignal by htc.but last time i wrong hspl it with oref instead of olip.so it stuck on boot.it shows in boot mood spl1.07 oref.now i tried almost all the roms but it shows error 300.wrong ruu.
plz tell me what happened to my cell.and what i have to do now.we have no service center here. i have already tried mtty.exe

Your gene is old gene and u bricked it with HSPL for new gene...
now there is no solution to unbrick a old gene.....
Reverse is possible...u can unbrick new gene flashed with old gene HSPL...
but in your case you need to the service centre...
Anycase it was ur mistake...krazy has clearly mentioned to use olip method first....so u need not to show ur angar in the forum....

Because that will not work for old to reverse.
It will only work on new gene.
I have got the same issue on New gene so mtty method worked for me.
I have not tried it on old but if you already tried the mtty on old and you got no success then service center is the only option.
They will replace the rom with the default setting or else if ossible they will restore the current to default.
And no one is selfish here everyone is giving there best for to solve problems. you can see this by going through the forum correctly...

You Just have 4 post , and joine 2 month before and you talking like this .
You should search and read carefully and you will found every issue related to this device have been discussed here .
But i think you are not ready to read , you want to give orders and take replay ( HOW?)
How you talk about selfish ,and you want every one here to leave all others problem and question and come to help you with something that we already discussed before , and no result for your problem until now .

People in this forum, infact the entire xda-developers.com team, is great in helping each other without any selfishness.
Even I had bricked my New GENE using the HSPL of old GENE a year back. At that time there was no unbricker for that. But I was confident that somebody here will come up with a solution.
And I had waited for almost one year for the solution. Then finally Orefkov came with a solution to unbrick it.
People here are brilliant in solving problems, we just have to maintain our cool, for other to find a solution.
People here take such a pain to just keep our GENE's up to date. We should respect them for that, instead of cribbing that no one is helping us.
Its our foolishness that we brick your mobiles without reading/understanding things properly. Why blame other for our mistakes ??

Don't be frastrated, I know how it feels to have bricked our mobile, because even I had gone through the same frastration. So I can understand your situation well. Thats the reason I had shared my experience with you. And asked you to maintain your cool.
For some problems its very difficult to find a solution, so it may take some time for somebody to come up with an answer/solution.
So don't lose hope, just keep an eye at xda-developers, you may never know, some day you may get a solution.
Dear Sunny, the only possible solution in your case is to send it to service center. there was nothing we could do more. What should we tell you then? And whether you are from Pakistan or from any part of the world, you are no different for us. A buddy is a buddy irrespective of where he comes from, religion or race. We dont even know the location of many of the people here

Rightly said krazy. The cyberr doesn't have any religion, caste, creed or nationality. we are of same breed bound by a common bond (in this case Gene!).
so, it hardly matters from which ppart of the globe you are from.

One more thing you can try is call HTC costomer care, or you can even email them. You can email them from there site, using the support > Customer service > email option. And ask them where can you send the moblie for service.

hey guys am new here and i must say i feel at home,it feel much like the ps3 scence minus the drama!!....anyway just wanted to say that this is a great comunity u guys have here and am lookin forward to contributing to the already established site,i have a few experience in modding files from as way a back as the psp days....but lets get down to bussiness.I currently own a lg gt540 and realised the there are almost no full surpport for this phone anymore and i find that thats a big mistake cause at the end of the day its still a phone!!!...but what i wanted to find out is how do u mod the battery icons like other popular phones and how do u enable/add the soft keys on this phone cause my phone hardware keys a take it toll now,and b4 u asked i did searched in the right lg forum but didnt find anything that corresponds to my needs and wants.
So if anyone can guide throught what i mentioned above will be greatly appreciated....thanks in advance.
