Hello everyone,
I decided to migrate to a new Rom, the only Thing I wanted to Keep were my WhatsApp Chats.
So I created a backup with Program Manager, loaded the backup-.zip to Skydrive, flashed the new Rom, downloaded the .zip file and tried to restore it with Program Manager again.
But everytime I restore the backup, I have to do the authentification Progress again and my old Chats are still not there.
Any ideas how to get that working again?
Edit: I tried restoring the files manually and it seems to work for now...
So Problem is solved in the moment

I've got TB pro, so i did a batch backup and decided before i flash any new roms again, that TB is working.
Backing up completes fine.
But it won't restore apps.
I updated to the latest TB pro, cleared my data and set app processing mode to AUTO, Indirect, but that didn't help either.
Any solutions?
Maybe TB canĀ“t find the path for the backup? That happened to me when I flashed an ICS rom that changes the path of both internal and external SD.
I cant imagine how, i havent changed roms at all!
I literally just batch backed up all my apps, then uninstalled two apps and tried restore them but neither would restore
Got the same problem for a long time now..... Tried everything
If u made a zip file then extract it nomrally and install the apps
next time use nandroid backup.
Dont forget hitting thanks......
Hi all, first of all, I apologize if I've posted in the wrong place.
I was never an "expert" with Android but I have used the EVO 4G for the past two years and just upgraded to the Galaxy S3. I rooted it this morning and have been playing with it. I wanted to flash different ROMs and try them out but I ran into some problems when trying to create a nandroid backup.
First I tried the usual method via ROM Manager. When I rebooted into Recovery, instead of backing up it just loaded the main CWM screen and at the bottom a message said it wasn't able to load the ROM Manager script and to make sure I have ROM Manager 4.4.0.0 or above (which I do). Then I tried to make a backup from CWM itself and after it was done, the date was all messed up as it thought it was 1970. Also when I booted back and loaded ROM Manager, it wasn't able to see the backup I made. I did try to make a backup in both my internal and external SD Card but didn't make a difference.
Please advise, thanks!
Don't use ROM Manager, no real need to use it for backups. Boot into recovery and manually backup (like you did). The date issue is a known CWM issue and will be resolved by them sometime soon I'm sure. The backup you did should be fine. I've backed up a few times (with the same date issue), but never tried restoring yet. Net Net, when you ran the backup manually (even with the borked date) you are good.
PS. I only use ROM Manager to rename the backups, as if I tried to manually change the name via a file explorer the file became invalid. If I changed the name via ROM Manager the backup was perfect.
I have also had issues with creating a nandroid. I have the verizon version so it probably has to do with it.
I have v 5.8.4.8 and installed it through ROM Manager.
I tried a nandroid and it errored with
Error while backing up boot image.
I'm guessing that it is known and has to do with the locked bootloader. But was just seeing if I anyone else had the issue.

I used to use ROM Manager to backup before mostly because as you have stated I could name the backup
Thanks for letting me know that even though the date is broke it's still good. I get a bit cautious when it comes to backing up
Hello Guys,
i have a big problem with my backup.
i wiped my phone to install a new rom, normally no big deal, have done this from time to time
so after i installed the new rom version i wanted to restore my apps, settings etc. with titanium backup.
i have the backup folder on my internal and external sd card.
when i open titanium backup i can see that arround 280 elements are loaded, like always before wipe and new install
but when im going to batch to restore the stuff i can only restore arround 30 app/settings which are all system apps i dont care about -_-
so my question is how do i get titanium backup to recognize my full backup and let it restore it??
i tried creating a new folder a copying the backup data in it and then set a new path for the titanium backup folder
still the same issue
has someone an idea?
thanks in advance
so i noticed another strange bug
even when i install new apps the counter for the apps in Batch does not increase...
i tried reinstalling titanium backup but this doesnt help.
also it seems like i got some problems with cwm or the rom itself
when i flash a new theme it wont apply
does nobody have an idea what it could be?
i also updated the busy box
ok i solved the issue
removed Titanium Backup with "SD Maid" and also deleted the files which stayed on the system
after re install everything works as normal
cheers!
should have tried checking the filters
Hello!
I have CWM Touch Recovery v6.0.3.1. A couple of hours ago, I made a NANDroid backup before flashin a new ROM. When I attempted to use NANDroid backup manager to restore my apps and data, the app said I had no apps in the backup. Upon reviewing the files CWM created, I discovered that it created several data.ext4.tar files. Is there a way to combine these so I can use the Nandroid backup manager to restore my apps. I've managed to restore call logs, text messages and wifi data but my apps are important too
Thanks in advance for the help ^-^
EDIT: I do realise I could probably use CWM for restoring but I want to restore specific apps and not the data. (I.e the recently updated hotmail app)
Plus, restoring with CWM flashes data that is incompatible with the new ROM.
full back up or partial back up

As far as i know Nandroid backup is used to restore previously backed up ROM+installed applications+app data . If you jus want to back up some application, just use something like "Titanium Backup", it workes great.
:good: If it helped you, Just hit the THANKS :highfive:
Titanium, Backup (TiBu) has an option for extract from nandroid backup in its menu. why dont you try that if u have TiBu installed ..
Thank you but I solved my problen a while ago.

A nandroid backup is used to backup the system,boot,recovery... In case your phone is bricked but if yout want to backup apps just use an application like titanium backup
Dear fellows,
I hope this is a right place to ask my question here. If not please please tell me and head me over to an other thread where this has been discussed.
I've rooted the S4 mini successfully (thanks to arco68). Right after the rooting process and installing ARCO's CWM I backed up the stock 4.4.2 rom in any case. I did a factory reset and flashed CM 11 also successfully and everything was good. After a week I wanted to go back to stock. So I restored the backup I made previously. Everything went out good, but now the whole system is inconsistent and instable. I have problems with the WiFi, SD card problems and so on.
What am I did wrong? Any advise is very welcome
I will flash stock via Odin tomorrow and root it again. But I want to avoid this process in future
Thanks
Hi all !
I need your help because I'm really desperate.
My phone was working fine but I had some error with Handcent application.
I decided to restore a previous nandroid backup (that I had previously successfully restored) but now I've got an "error while restoring data" after a long time working.
Tried to do 3 wipes (data factory, cache, Dalivk), but same issue.
Tried with some other backups, same issue.
I'm really lost....
Is there any way to get me out of this ? :crying:
My phone is now unusable.
When I run the phone after restoring faultly, it asked me my google account, as if it was the first time I was running the phone, and not all applications are installed.
When I try to install missing applications with Google Play, I've got an error, and no way to restore from Titanium Backup, no error but freezes.
Please HELP !
Flash your firmware using Odin or recovery, if the backup is corrupt then it can't be fixed.
Thanks, but this backup was OK last time I've restored it, and I had the same issue with some other recent backups.
It appears that the size was too big, over 2,5GB.
I've restored from a 2,41GB backup and it has worked.
The mistery is why I was able to restore from this backup one time, and now does not work anymore...
