Dead Wifi on i9100 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sup guys.
I need some help.
I'm a Cyanogenmod user for a long time, been using 4.2.2 nightlies for some time already without any problems.
But after flashing XXMS2 modem from this topic, my WIFI went DEAD.
Flashed it normaly from CWM.
After the problem i tryed about everything, including flashing original rom from samsung via Odin, tryed my older modem (LQ6), nothing seems to get WIFI to work again.
Now im back to 4.2.2 CM 10.1 Nightlies but still have the problem.
WIFI is greyed out on the settings menu, completely dead.
3G connection and calls work fine.
Any help would be welcome. Thanks.

Maybe u could try running a ROM wipe/nuke script and flash CM again? Or try a different kernel...

Which Kernel are you using? If you are using dorimanx, you must tap the toggle 3 times to get wifi working. Works for me at least^^

I believe most of the methods here on XDA are safe, as long as u read the instructions carefully.
Search for 'corrupted efs' or 'recover imei' threads, and you will find what you are looking for.
I don't know how u can mess up anymore than this, but if u are so concerned, take a backup before u try anything.

Im currently trying to find a solution/answer to this myself
My friend has an s2 and no matter what kernel or version he tries the same problem results.
Done all the correct procedures for ROM gapps and kernel flashes, tried reboots and re flashes but the black screen appears after the kernel boot picture.

If you are on CM 10.1 , which is android 4.2.2 , siyah kernel dosent support it. Try dormanix or the CM kernel.

Did u flash CWM recovery from ROM Manager? If not, u still have stock recovery!
Stock recovery can only flash zips on the external sd card, not internal sd.

THX 4 help.....
ok it looks like I at least didnt damage anything.
So, now im rooted like this method........but I heared about this problems with CWM too. So I try to read more and make it with ODIN
Can you perhaps point me on a good tut 4 for flashing with Odin if root is already there ?
There are so many tutorials and I find it kind of confusing which to follow.
best regards
EDIT: I did do something from CWM......it asked me for my model and I chose I9100. But in the list it was also Galaxy S2, so I was unsure. Then it did something. Did he perhaps flash the wrong revocerymanager and get me problems then going on now flashing with Odin ?
then I booted in the recovery I had the stock-options only

HI
my counter is on 3 now....is this a problem, as I dont have warranty any more anyway ?
greetz
Re: [Q] Help im to stupid to flash a costum rom
No, its not a problem, even if you did have warranty. The binary counter and yellow triangle show samsung that something had been flashed to phone, so they can refuse your warranty.
But before you would send it back for warranty, you would remove the signs of flashing. If you cant (like mb bricked); then samsung cant see what you have done.
Anyway, if you were on ICS, you can use triangle away app, and use a jig for GB.And flashing by recovery doesnt add the binary counter, that is why the other chap is recommending that.
You dont need to worry now, but the jig is also handy for booting phone into download mode.....like if your home button is faulty.

OK thx,
I'm going to flash a german Stock ROM (I9100XWLQ2) now. And after that I study this thread to flash Philz-cwm6 kernel. From there it should be easy to try customROMs like I want.
Thx for the tip with siyah but I think i go this way, because if i manage this I can help a friend to do this too, and he has a newer ROM
Re: [Q] Help im to stupid to flash a costum rom
You can use the method you think whats best for you.
But you should be aware of this;
1.before you do anything make sure you have Odin/drivers installed on your pc in case you need it fast.
2.when you get cwm, do a nand backup and make efs backup.
3.read some guides and have a quick look through the titles in this forum and youll see what goes wrong when you start flashing etc.....LOL

I chose to update to ICS first, then root and CWM after that...
So, even after a number of flashes of custom roms and kernels, my counter still rests at 0.

[Q] Internal SD card problem

Hello people!
I'm glad that i joined this great forum. I have some problems with my SGS2 (i9100). I've researched about this problem for weeks but couldnt get any answer so i feel this situation is appopriate to open a new thread. Let me describe my problem.
I'm running JellyBAM ROM in my i9100. I am not using any external SD card cause i find my internal storage quite enough. Everytime i put or download something to my internal storage (like mp3, picture) that file gets broken. For example i cant download images from WhatsApp because it says the download cannot be completed in my language. If i manage to download one, it gets "black" in few minutes i can only see it for a while. If i get a mp3 by download or bluetooth i can play it first but after 10 mins it cant be opened. Today i tried to backup my all applications using Titanium Backup, root folder of my internal sdcard or any folder in my sdcard, it says this folder is not writable. I tried to set chmod 777 but it doesnt work.
I really need an info about this situation cause i cannot do anything with my phone. Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you very much!

[SOLVED] [HELP] No Mobile Data in SGS2

Hello folks, this is my first post Hope to have a solution for my M250S converted to Galaxy S2 which I'm having a problem with.
I'll get to the point straight.
The problem that I'm with S2 is that I'm not able to use mobile data. Even though I've enabled mobile data from settings, No mobile data icon is shown in status bar. I've set up APN settings correctly as well. Did try with different network SIM with correct APN settings. But no luck. I'm talking about either EDGE, HSPA or 3G icon in the status bar (like in attachment below).
But internet via WiFi works fine. Tried flashing a new stock ROM, custom ROM, wiping out cache, factory resetting and turning on "WCDMA only" as well :crying:
Could this be a hardware fault? Or firmware issue (like csc or modem)?
Note : On the first day I purchased the phone, mobile data worked (and it was already converted to i9100). But backside of the phone near camera got overheated. Then I turned mobile data off and switched to wifi. Afterwards I can't remember that I could use mobile data.

Thanks man. Flashed i9100 4.0.4 ICS stock ROM and it works :good: I think it's a problem with 4.1.2 JB stock ROM and 4.1.2 based custom ROMs
Wonder why it's only my M250S which has faced this problem

Doing that right away
Problem solved in JB ROM as well. You need to have at least two APNs in order to get mobile data working
