I have a Galaxy Nexus with 1. Android version 4.2.1, 2. Baseband Version I9250UGLL1, 3. Kernel Version 3.0.31-gd5a18e0 4. Build Number JOP40D.19250UGMA2 and all I want to do with the new Android Version is be able to WiFi tether and talk on the phone like I used to be able to do. Right now, when I answer the phone or make a call, I loose my WiFi tether. Will the new Android Version 4.2.2 fix this problem.

This is my phone:
Model: Samsung Galaxy SII GT-I9100
Android Version: 4.0.3
Baseband Version: I9100XXLPS
Kernel Version: 3.0.15-I9100XWLP7-CL340913
[email protected] #3
Build number: IML74K.XWLP7
I've successfully flashed the "leaked" JB 4.1.2 ROM on my SGSII, just to see if I could do it - and then restored it back to ICS 4.0.3, with all my apps and data intact, using CWM recovery. While I had JB installed, I found that I couldn’t enable USB debugging, which made me nervous, as I know that a number of the utilities I’ve been using require it.
So my questions are these:
1. any ideas why USB debugging wouldn’t switch on, and what could be done about this?
2. if I were to do the JB thing again and keep it this time, could I use the same rooting mechanism that worked on ICS, and get all the apps and data restored - but this time running under JB? The package I used went by the name CF-Root-SGS2_XX_XEO_LPQ-v5.3-CWM5 – it includes CWM Recovery.
3. or if not, what is the best way to restore apps and data in this scenario? I really, really don't want to have to restore all my apps and data one by one when I upgrade my phone.
Of course I could just sit on my hands and wait until the official release.... Where’s the fun in that?

No all the updates are available for the hotspot mod to work on 4.3. Here's a thread related to going from MF9 to MJA
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509605
And here is one about doing so without installing the new samsung bootloader.

If you are still on the stock rom, you are going to need to flash the stock wifi modules.
Go here: http://www.osimood.com/downloads/?category=4
Download the default kernel files and flash the wifi modules zip in recovery.
Hi,
I have just purchased a Wahoo Fitness Bluetooth 4 device to use with my Galaxy Ace 3. I believe that the Ace has bluetooth 4 capability (all of the specs that i see for it show that it does have BT 4.0), but im starting to think that i need to update from the current version of 4.2.2 to 4.3 in order to get it to work.
I don't want custom ROM or anything like that to be honest, but it appears that my network (EE uk) are not rolling out updates for this phone to get it on to 4.3 or higher.
Is there any way i can get a 4.3 vanilla rom onto this phone?
Thanks
Mark

You seem quite confused on what constitutes a custom rom. If you're trying to replace the stock Samsung software with vanilla android - that's about as custom as you can get without replacing android with a different operating system. But there are no official updates to 4.3 for your phone, so the only way to upgrade would be via a custom rom like CyanogenMod.
I provided my current android version i have on my phone in a screen shot. so here are my questions
1. how good is the android 5.0 or what ever is the latest. i need to know if the stock camera, remote etc. gets transfer over
2. i got a fetcher called advanced calling, was hoping it would let me call and video call over wi-fi. but it don't and im running 4.4.2, a friend of mine is running android 5 and he has advanced calling and using a gal. s5 running lollipop and he says it works on wi-fi to *yes he has version* (i don't know if its the device you got to use or the OS)
3. if wi-fi calling can work on 4.4.2 how can i do it other then getting third party apps like google hangouts (yes my advanced calling is active)
4. if 4.4.2 don't do wi-fi calling, can lollipop call over wi-fi or no
if your info. is good for me on lollipop then i will get it so if i plan to get it. how can i get it installed
where are the latest os for lg g3
i need at least a step by step guide to get it installed

You can't upgrade if you're rooted, you'll have to flash a KDZ back to 12b and update from there. Opinions will vary, but i was rooted and xposed on 4.4.2, when i upgraded to 5.0 it took me about an hour to flash my KDZ back to 12b because i was unhappy with it overall. You can root 5.0 and their is a very alpha version of xposed out that needs to be flashed from a recovery and only about 30 modules or so at this point that are working. Sorry I can supply anymore info but this may help bump attention to get the rest of your answers.
One last note is if you dont mind the factory resets, and if you go with a KDZ, once everythings set up it takes less than a few minutes to flash the KDZ from a computer with the phone in download mode, so if you're not happy you can jump back to 4.4.2 if you'd like.
Thanks, im wonder why you was unhappy for and thanks for the heads up. I dont mind factory reset my phone and the whole nine yards. But before i go and get android 5 i want to know how good or bad it is and hope it answers my questions
I also forgot one more question. Has xprivacy got an update that it fully works on android 5. Ever since i was told about it i loved it. I tried useing cm12 or 13 forgot what cm h3ld android 5. But i tried to install it and it notified me it didnt support lollipop if it dose i might be thinking of xsposed framework

Pardon my ignorance (I'm good with HTC and Samsung device terms, but not so much on LG), but what is KDZ and is there instructions for doing what you explain somewhere on XDA?
I only ask as my wife has a G3 with Verizon that is stock Kit Kat, rooted and bumped. I am interested in knowing how to get her phone on stock lollipop.
