It seems like this authentication error has something to do with being rooted, i'm still on the o firmware and get an ox**** error everytime the ATT rep pushes the update to me. So anyone got a guide?
Edit: nevermind, figured it out, thanks guys. BTW, it's clearly a phone issue, not a root/unlock issue. I've reverted fully to stock and fully reset and still have the issues. ATT is sending me a replacement now. MEH...

So I have an Optimus T 509 Titanium. I was informed there was an update so i downloaded it. I told it yes to update. Now it seems to be stuck. It displays the LG Logo Then displays the updating screen briefly before immediately Re-Booting.It does this continuously.
Does anyone know what might have happened or how to fix it. The phone is completely stock no mods, not rooted. Hard Reset does not work and emergency mode does. I tried KDZ updater but i get a model ID error when trying the Optimus 500. I spent most of the day looking for the proper one every time I tried one of these http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/ezlooks_model_list.jsp?model=LGP509 Using the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865479 i got an error.
Edit's: changed the title to be more specific. The update in question was the v10L update i do believe. Got another one. It seems that a antivirus program called look out cause the problem. It seems the program also prevents rooting the phone.
Looks like it's LG's fault. If I were you I'd have it warranty repaired.
On a side note, I think that's a boot loop. I'm no expert, so others may be able to help in a while.
Gonna have it replaced. But this seems like something that should be addressed, I see multiple accounts of OTA causing brick on this phone. Since I can't use the LG Update either(for some reason my isp blocks it same with M$ Live services).. so this is, aside from rooting the phone the only way to get updates for me. I mainly think my failure was because of lack of availability of stock firmware. It also seems theres no way to get stock back without a factory firmware either. I'm all for tweaking but not if i can't fix it if something goes wrong.
Hi,
So I'm new to android and rooting. I root my atrix yesterday after putting it off for a couple weeks. I used aRoot and everything rooted fine. Today I received a MMS and I can't seem to download it. I click on download and it just keeps saying downloading... and doesn't do anything. Then if I don't do anything the download button just comes back. Is there something that I need to change or fix for my MMS to work again? I would really appreciate any help or advice. Thanks for your time.
Jeff
I recently just flashed the .pit and .pda tar from this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1349895
to get to stock EH03 and work my way from there
My problem is, after booting my phone I have no 3g signal. I tried *228 and reactivating but that doesn't help. I can receive texts and calls but still no data. In my About Phone : everything shows EH03
Could anyone give me some help? I'm a little worried..
EDIT: Found what I did, I accidently had Phone EFS Clear checked when I ran everything... do any of you guys know how to fix this? *228 doesn't help me out
By looking at my MEID from Settings -> About Phone -> Status , it still seems to be there reading
DEC: 268435459603183741
Hex: 0xA000002430947D
This does match the number underneath my battery.
* I am trying to get root access now but SuperOneClick seems to be "not responding" when on Shell Rooting Device Step #7 - WaitforDevice
* I have an old phone lying around, but it's not a smart phone and I don't want to try activating that one and reactivating this - I hear I will lose my unlimited data..
Maybe you can try this link?

or

If you do activate another phone and reactivate your fascinate, you can get your unlimited data back, you just have to call them. I think there's a window where you can reactivate a smartphone and retain your current data plan but I'm not sure what it is, probably 2-4 weeks, so if you're just reactivating it real quick it wouldn't be an issue. Just the hassle of calling and having them fix it.
I have no idea if that would even help your issue though, I've always seen checking the "EFS clear" box in odin highly warned against but I can't say for sure what you did by doing that, maybe someone else knows, or google it?
I finally managed to get root access.. I'm going to look into both of these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17587351#post17587351
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7997364&postcount=5
and see if I can magically fix it.. Thanks for your help so far guys.
EDIT: by #06# .. it shows my MEID as 45035996880868477 ..
I've looked for an /efs folder in my phone directory but it seems I don't have one. At this point I think I am screwed. I can't try what any of those links say because they require that you have the EFS.
As of now, I'm stuck with a stock EH03 rooted device with no data only call/text.
I'm guessing you probably already saw this thread? Did you try activating another device on your line, then reactivating the fascinate?
Yeah I already saw that thread, but thank you for the help.
I took my phone in today since I do have the warranty and I got it sent out.
Also, I got a Galaxy Nexus since I was due for an upgrade.
Thank you for all your guys' help though. It really does help.

Perhaps it is the network bootloop issue, had that issue with the first OTA, try diagnosing that:

mpmorph, let us know if your problem was same as the network boot looping issue, so we can assist others that get it with this OTA.:good:
....Sadly that is not the case. I tried to follow the instructions on that link but never managed to enter the code. The phone never got that far. The device just displays the white screen with the HTC green logo and then it dims the light a bit, and......it shutdowns, just to restart again. Removed everything, SIM card, microSD card, and nothing.
Received a replacement from verizon today, but before i send the other one back if anybody has any ideas to try.....now is the time....please?
Draw all over it to make VZW mad.
On a serious note, it would be nice if the internal sd was a real micro sd that you could remove and stick in a computer to get all of your files back.

Tried it. RUU ran then on restart same thing. No go.
I think S-OFF and running a GB RUU might work, don't wanna risk getting 500 dollar spike on my Verizon bill Cuz it was hacked.
Thanks for trying guys.
I had a similar problem, if you are able, wipe everything and reinstall the update. It worked for me.
Is the stock recovery installed?
Bootloader is locked/relocked ?
Did you remove the PH98IMG.zip file from your SD card?
Did you try booting with the back cover removed?

Lol they won't bill you $500 for "hacking" your phone. Jailbreaking / rooting / etc. is all legal; the most they can do is void your warranty.

Contact HTC; see if they can warranty it if VZW won't.
Hi all,
A friend of mine has a bone stock S4 that he purchased a couple of months ago, and when he looked at his phone yesterday it had a message about "Unauthorized System Software" found on the device, and it has basically bricked the device. He's tried doing a factory reset on the device to no avail. He is not a techie at all, and has not attempted to root or ROM the device (he didn't even know what the terms meant when I asked if he had attempted to do anything). When he contacted Verizon they basically told him, "Sucks to be you, and oh, btw, your warranty is now void."
Needless to say this is ridiculous, so I was curious if anybody else had run into something similar or had any other ideas on how to try and get his phone back up and running without Verizon's BS.
Thanks!

You could try kies or use the software update utility/repair utility that comes on the phone. Plug the phone into a computer and install the vzw utility. When it comes up select repair utility. It will put into download mode and flash the latest firmware. Used it several times it works great.
Yoshi and Eris,
Thank you both; I will pass these suggestions along! I appreciate the suggestions.
An interesting addition to this story, it appears the S4 in question has its bootloader unlocked. On the phone's bootup screen, it shows the familiar unlocked padlock icon, and a message that says "Custom". It almost sounds to me like a botched system update somehow got pushed to his device, but we're still in the dark about what caused it. He apparently did another factory reset and he's able to use the phone without the unauthorized system software message, but the whole situation is extremely bizarre.
