[solved] upgrade Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II to 4.0.4 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi friends i want to upgrade my Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II to 4.0.4 my curent version is 4.0.3 my frimware is I9100XXLPQ samsung kies not showing any update plz help me about upgrade i dont have any idea plz help

U can upgrade to any firmware version u prefer. Just download the firmware manually from sammobile.com and flash via Odin.
Why not upgrade to JB?
I would advise against upgrading to 4.0.4 though. Please read about 'eMMC Brickbug' issue on 4.0.4.
Check it with the 'Got Brickbug?' app on XDA.
But if you insist on 4.0.4, u must flash a safe custom kernel!

Yup, JB not yet released for Pakistan.
You have three options:
1. Flash a generic unbranded Jellybean firmware for now. Then flash Pakistan JB when it comes.
2. Flash ICS 4.0.4 firmware, and flash a safe kernel (and read about Brickbug again).
3. Flash nothing and wait till JB Pakistan is released (it won't be long).

I can't help you until u read about what you're going to do.
You don't need to be rooted to flash official JB. And I would advise you NOT TO try any of these stuff until u are sure of what is being done. Otherwise, you may end up bricking ur device!

[Q] Downgrade Samsung Galaxy S2 from Jelly Bean 4.1.2 to ICS 4.0.4

Hi, I recently updated my Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 from Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.4) to Jelly Bean (4.1.2). I have been using the new OS version for a while now and don't like some of the changes that Samsung have implemented. So I was wondering if there is a way of downgrading the OS back to ICS 4.0.4 (the latest official release). Is there a way to select a custom version in Kies and simply update that way? Or am I stuck with Jelly Bean and will just have to adjust to the changes

Option 3.
You have obviously deleted some important system files, and now ur phone is stuck in what is known as a 'bootloop'.
If u knew which firmware u currently have, simply flashing that via Odin will restore the deleted files.
If u don't know, or are not sure, you can flash any stock GB firmware via Odin to get out of the bootloop. But this will probably cause you to lose ur data and apps.

[Q] [SOLVED] Galaxy stuck on logo screen

- SOLVED - (Thanks to immortalneo )
Hello, noob here D:
Here's the story.. I recently got a Galaxy S2 i9100. It's updated to the 4.1.2 thingy.
Tried to root it, used odin and CF-ROOT v5.5 in the process. Odin said it was OK but I got stuck on the yellow triangle.
Found a guide, guide said to install Stock Rom.. so I did. (Stock rom is I9100XWLPU_I9100XXLQ6_I9100XEZLP3_HOME.tar )
Now there's no yellow triangle but it's stuck on the flashy S screen.
I never had a smartphone, and I don't understand most of the words people use here (mainly that 'flash it' thing xD )
I tried to look for a post or anything to solve this but kinda failed..
Help?
What you have is called a 'bootloop' mate.. it can be sorted out.
Which android version do u have now? Its 4.0.4 right? 4.0.4 is subject to risk of eMMC Brickbug.
So, I suggest you download another stock firmware (other than 4.0.4) and flash it via Odin.

Kies will display that error message if you have a custom rom. As for lack of root access, maybe someone unrooted it after installing Cyanogenmod.
What is it that you want to do with it?

First of all, do u know how to enter download mode? Can u check what ur binary counter says?
You can download a stock firmware for ur phone from sammobile.com. Then simply flash it via Odin.

That means ur warranty is void. Since the phone would have been out of warranty by now, it doesnt matter.
Simplu flash the stock firmware in download mode using Odin.

If u want ur warranty:
- u have to reset ur binary counter
- have a stock firmware
To reset ur binary counter, u need to be rooted. And you have to use Triangle Away app.
I recommend you follow these steps:
Since u are on JB now, root it using Philz kernel and then use Triangle away app to reset ur counter.
Then, do a factory reset and flash stock JB again.

Philz kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31310851
Look up ur 'Build version' and find the matching latest philz kernel.
Then u can use odin to flash the kernel to get root.

Only look for the section 'Flashing firmware with odin'. Don't follow anything else or download from there.
If ur scared to do that, use this guide:

somewhere
