Would there ever be a camera that could use front and back cameras at the same time? Or app? Do it have to be a powerful phone maybe like note 2 ect? Do you think such feature can be run on a low end phone maybe like HTC evo 4g?
I know gs4 can do this but what about other non Samsung phones?
Could this ever happen?

That doesn’t depend on Android or power.
That depends on the Hardware manufacturer. Most phones have only 1 hardware controller for both cameras.
Like the HTC Evo 4g… It’s not possible with this phone.
I heard this feature will be available on SSGS4 ?
Yes Samsung S4 supports this.

no... i wish I live in really rural area not may folks around at all with smartphones anyway.
I was dismayed to see HTC's lackadaisical approach to update though I'm not sure how Samsung's track record matches up.
I'd hate to switch just for the lure of something different only to find it was a step backward.
Oh I see. The thing that bugs me the most on this phone is the lack of proper multitasking. That's about my only issue and it is big enough that I would consider switching. Before you decide, try using touchwiz on a floor model first because it can be rather clunky to use after using touch. I use a Samsung phone for work and an HTC for personal and still have to remind myself that each phone does things differently everyday.

They have apps like this on the play store... at least three for smart stay (sounds useless to me, but meh). Some of these can be done by Tasker, some are already features of other phones and have been.
I just had this discussion with a friend from work. The only reason I'd get a Samsung phone would be due to the specs, not the software. It's all android... Only limitation is the hardware.

Yeah , I chose the Evo for the hardware , not sense . I knew I'd flash AOSP no matter if I got the SIII or the Evo . The only reason I considered the SIII was for the features (Excluding the GUI) and 2GB of RAM .

The only features they have are software, and that's already been replicated. No worries, though -- Evo LTE all the way!
I'm guessing cuz its still android 4.1.2, we should be able to run it right? Is it possible to pretty much port the HTC one to this phone? Software-wise

If its anything like when sense 3.0 came out then yes. I had an og and sense 3 was on it a lot.

I think it may be a little more complex because of the new blink interface. It may require a phone with burly specs. Me personally I don't feel like the LTE's GPU is equipped to even handle jelly bean let alone sense 5 but we shall see. No doubt someone will port it eventually but how smooth it runs and how much of it works remains to be seen.

Blink, I'm assuming is the live tiles? If so I feel they would juss be a battery drainer. Not going into JBs performance on any one phone. Each phone is different.

Hey everyone, I currently have a S4 and I'm about 85% sure that I'm going to exchange it today for a HTC One. My question to you all is do any of you know of an app that utilizes both the front and back cam like you can with the S4?
That's one of the main features I like of the S4...
HTC 3D has an mirror app, but that S4 app sounds better
s4 has a better app desigh for this function
No. I wish it had the multitasking feature where you can run two apps at the same time. But it is what it is. I actually am leaning towards getting the Google Edition of the GS4 so I don't have to deal with all the bloat and bs. Waiting half a year for my carrier to push my updates and bug fixes out.

Considering both the s4 and the HTC one have the same cpu it should not be impossible for a third party app. Think of the ability to have a video callwith both cameras enabled, it would be a battery juicer, but nice none the less

What would be the use to having both cameras operating at the same time? Just wondering.. i cant think of anything.. even video calls dont make much sense to me, how would both cams benefit a video call? You want the person on the other end to see you and what is in front of you? Not trolling, just inquiring..
It's actually a nice feature..it's on the S4 and I used it a lot ...especially with my kids.

Today a rep from Nokia was displaying the 1020 at work today, this gave me the chance to play with the Nokia Refocus app and that's quite interesting. Are there any Android apps capable of doing the same?

I haven't seen Nokia Refocus, but you can check out "Afterfocus Pro." I use it quite a lot. And I pair it up with "Perfectly Clear" for better results. Check them out, they're on the Play Store.
Hit thanks if I helped.

Thanks. While they're smart apps they do nothing like Nokia Refocus

I assume the refocus works on the nokia as the camera is 42 megapixel or whatever it is, android can't compete with that as of now.

Nop it works on the older ones with far less megapixels as well. It's purely software...

Nope, it just lets you view images shot with the actual Lytro camera as opposed to the app actually letting you take similar photographs with your phone.
Just posting this in here if people don't know what the app does.

I don't get why sony wouldn't have come up with a similar app? The bokeh app from sony is ok, but doesn't always work the best.
Really interested on this, but for now I think is Nokia exclusive, if something worth appears, some tech news website will publish
This feature has started to emerge in stock camera apps with the HTC One. It is also present in the Galaxy S5 (selective focus) & the LG G2 Pro.
I'm using a Note 2, dont have any recent future plans to upgrade my phone and i dont feel the necessity to do it. I hope there will emerge some third party camera apps that will do this trick for older phones.
