There is only one Rom V10A P765 released on 18 April. Its 572 mb. I hope you are not confused with Indonesia rom released yesterday (22-Apr). By the way I am using V20D on my P765.

But this is official LG OTA update..hopefully is well tested before release..

I have downloaded the update and confirm that it is about 270MB only. And it is indeed v20a with 4.1.2. I am loving the project butter smoothness, Lock Screen customization options and of course the QSlide mini apps.
You can take a look at my take on the JB update here: tchsvy.blogspot.com

Here's a screen shot after the upgrade.

yes, i received a notification for this update too. Thanks TekkenLaw for updating about the OS on your blog. Am planning to upgrade this weekend as i currently dont have Wi-fi connectivity.
Please do update on the battery life and any bugs you come across here or your blog.

I upgraded to jelly bean
Absolutely loving it...
Ui has become super smooth compared to ics
Qslide apps works very well
Sent from my LG-P765 using xda app-developers app

I have also upgraded to V20A.
The best thing I found, no issue of battery drainage, which I was facing from JB roms from other countries.
After hole day ( Apx.13 and half hours) average usage it consumed 50% battery.

Please share us the method, it ll be really helpful since many have failed to unlock in indian firmware

Dear friend
First of all I should say that this is not my work I got this method from some of the developers
First of all download all 4 files from following link
https://www.box.com/shared/b7fscmaj5f7rz29spsta
Steps
1) extract Android.zip in c drive
2) extract fastboot.zip in c drive
3) copy recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.1-p760_. img to Android folder of step 1
4) copy UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.2. zip to the root of your SD card
That was what you have to do with above downloaded 4 files
Now UNLOCKING PROCESS
1 . Connect your phone to pc in LG SOFTWARE MODE
2. allow your PC to install all the required adb drivers automatically
3 . Now go in c /Android folder
4. Now here press shift + right mouse click to open command prompt window and run the command
"adb devices "
You will see it will list your device
Then the next command will be
"adb reboot oem-unlock"
You will see that your mobile will boot into fastboot mode
Here you will see on your mobile if the bootloader is locked it will ask to unlock bootloader by pressing volume + key just do it NOW HERE YOUR BOOTLOADER IS UNLOCKED
for flashing CWM
To flash CWM run the following commands while your mobile is in fastboot mode
" flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.1-p760_2.img "
It will flash recovery in your boot
For installing superuser
Now start you're mobile in recovery which you have recently flashed ( in LG mobiles recovery can be open by pressing volume up + home + power key and release the power key after vibration but hold another two key till it reaches the recovery menu there flash super user by option "update zip from SD card "
Thus it was the method to root and unlocked bootloader and flashing CWM
If any doubts please ask me

[TUT][L5] From Stock ICS to CustomROM step for step guide ROOT/BOOTLOADER/CWM/ROMS

Hello guys, this is a Tutorial for the LG optimus L5 step for step Rooting, Installing bootloader, installing CWM and finally installing ROMS.
I made this thread because i thought the other threads are a bit scattered all over the Lg optimus forums which is a bit obsecure.
So here I set up the steps! Good luck!
NOTE: THIS IS AN OLD THREAD, THE METHOD USED HERE MIGHT NOT WORK ANYMORE. IF YOU CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THIS TUTORIAL MAKE SURE YOU KNOW HOW TO FIX THINGS WHEN YOU ****ED UP, NEITHER WILL I REPLY TO ANY QUESTIONS ASKED SINCE I DON'T HAVE THE DEVICE ANYMORE
Before doing any of these things: MAKE A BACKUP!
ROOTING
First, What is rooting? (for noobs)
For rooting the L5 you need the following things: "IS11LG_SystemBackupTest.signed.apk" & a root package provided by XxXKINGMAKXxX (Attatched below)
1) go to system settings --> developer options --> turn USB debugging ON
Then, go to system settings --> Security --> allow unknown sources
2) Install SystemBackupTest.apk with a file manager then, open the app and reboot - the app should be kept open while rebooting !important!
when the phone is completely rebooted, change your mobile connection mode to “Charge Only Mode”, then reconnect the cable.
4) Run root.bat from the root package, your phone will reboot and it will be rooted!
UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER
For all E617g owners, go to thishttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2392762 thread.
You need to install bootloader if you want to continue with the next steps.
Its very important to choose the right unlock file, else you will get bootloops!
5) if you got E610/E612g, download emmc_appsboot for E610
if you got E612, download emmc_appsboot for E612
if you got E615, download emmc_appsboot for E615
next, install terminal emulator from google play unrar &
copy emmc_appsboot.bin to your internal SD card.
then, open up terminal emulator and type in:
su
[*] dd if=/sdcard/emmc_appsboot.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5
[*] reboot
INSTALLING CLOCK WORK MOD
6) Download "recovery.img" and copy it to your internal SD card.
(there is a special recovery img for the E615 - look in the attatchments)
7) Type in terminal emulator:
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17 of=/sdcard/recovery-backup.img (optional - makes a back-up)
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17
reboot recovery
If you did everything good your phone will now reboot in CWM!
If you want to go into CWM any other time: turn off your phone then, press volume down + power, when the menu lights pop up press home button for 2 seconds and you will see CWM.
ROMS
This isn't difficult at all, just download some roms (given below) and drag and drop the zip file into your external/internal sd card.
Before flashing a custom rom do a factory reset trough cwm!
Go into CWM and go to the folder where you placed your custom rom. You can navigate with the volume buttons and the power button(=enter).
Some Roms for LG optimus L5:
!Note! if you want to flash a jellybean (android 4.1.2) rom you need to flash v20 baseband first!!!

Look the above message ^^
Regarding E612G/E612F
For everyone with E612G/E612F/E610V/E610GO, these aren't compatible with CWM/bootloader, so no CWM means no custom ROMS. You can only root your phone and thats it!

READ, The titel already says stock ICS to Customrom!!! ICS = android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich !!!
- See my other Tutorial if you want Root + CWM on 4.1.2. --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2405357
I would like to suggest updating cwm to a newer version and avoiding the cwm v. 6.0.2.8. Look up for another newer. Recently, some of us we had problems with that version.
is there no tool like the AIO -ToolKit to just override everything for the 610? other than kdz. something that does work when the mpt driver fails to install?

[Q] Bootloop to CWM after OTA upgrade.

My bro accidentally clicked on OTA upgrade. I have bootloader unlocked , rooted P765 with cwm 6.0.2. I searched this forum for solutions and got some.Unfortunately none worked for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2247371 - this method did not work . my phone also has some issues with USB i guess. Everytime i connect to pc , i get device not detected error. screes attached.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40423549&postcount=2 ----this did not work. same as above.
i also tried with exitrecovery.zip . It ran successfully from CWM but everytime i boot, phone still goes to CWM recovery mode.
exitrecovery has following code
busybox echo -ne "\066" | busybox dd bs=1 seek=4107 count=1 conv=notrunc of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8
I did trial and error with mmcblk0p till 1-20 with no success.
Here comes the saddest part...I also went to LG service centre. He also couldn't help. That guy told me motherboard is dead due to rooting.
I am sure that my p765 is very much alive.
I can go to Software upgrade mode on my phone, but my pc doesnt recognize it. I have latest LG drivers installed on my system.
NOw i think only way out of this could be a script to flash from CWM. Please help me!!.
I tried flashing other roms like Superlumina,Avatar. Also tried Ubuntu touch with no success. Still goes to CWM.
I am on JB India V20A.
Thanks in advance.

My P765 got stuck up with CWM recovery after an OTA update. I flashed some custom rom's but still it does end up in CWM recovery only.
Could you please upload the CWM zip to flash the stock recovery. So that I can get to back to my P765.

The following will work with all OTA boot loops to recovery. The guide is for p765 but it will work with all variants. If you flashed a custom ROM trying to fix the problem, please restore your stock rom backup. Also, if you still have artas182x locked bootloader recovery (or you removed any system apps), the update will fail, but you will be of the loop
what kdz are you currently on? I made the zip but i need the extracted p765 recovery.img.
If you have the kdz please extract the recovery.img (look at my signature on how to extract it).
i could give you the p760 20b recovery.img but I think it would be best to use the recovery.img of the current kdz you are on (to be on the safe side).
Note: if this doesn't work, you will need to use the unoffical fastboot. So you might want to get fastboot setup before trying this. Actually, you probably won't need fastboot, but you will need to restore your custom recovery.
Or use the longer method (takes more time, depends on your download speed), LG mobile support tool.
Once you get the stock recovery.img for your kdz, Open the p765_stock_recovery.zip and copy the 3-recovery.img into the zip file.
Note: Don't change the name of the recovery.img or it will not work
The recovery must be named 3-recovery.img
Place it on you sdcard and flash with cwm and reboot.
Or sideload into your phone with cwm and your computer
Code:
adb sideload p765_stock_recovery.zip

You first should start into fastboot and flash the old recovery - just downgrade it
I had the same on my mobile... downgrading recovery helped

how can i downgrade it ? if you and any one have free time , please , enter to my PC by team viewer and do it for me ?
It's really easy....
Search the xda for fastboot, download this file for your system (windows or linux) - install the device-drivers (Windows only)
then plug in your mobile and reboot into bootloader... fastboot
Open terminal or Cmd - test if your mobile is connected by typing in "fastboot devices" in the path where fastboot is placed
If it doesn't say "waiting for device" you are conneced
Download the cwm recovery for your device and copy it to the path where fastboot is placed
Then type in "fastboot flash recovery *name of your downloaded recovery-file*"
Wait if the prompt is back - usually some seconds only
Done
Reboot bootloader ... start recovery ... flash your ROM ...
Done too

mobile is turn on not working and if i tried to open mobile in recovery or updateing mode , i have got any result and mobile is still working so tell my way that not depend on the mobile is turned on
Hi
as long as I know mobiles there is no way to flash anything without booting up to fastboot. You need energy to do something with it. Your car won't run without fuel too!
But did you check your battery? You might charge it with a different wire or/and charger (yours might be defect)!
As soon as this is checked you will know if your mobile is dead or still alive.
You have to know: to flash the wrong recovery usually cannot break your device. I dit it twice and my HOX still is running properly.
This is why I ask for your battery - you need more than 30% battery life for a secure flash!
If it works you have to boot up into bootloader and check the Code name of your device. Only with this you can find and flash the matching recovery and ROM for your device.
If nothing works you might give it to a professional for a try to repair it.

ok , smack67 , before i updated recovery , i had charged battry to 100% so i don't think that battry is the reason
but it doesn't work also :silly:
but i rememberd some thing , there was rom for andriod 4.4 for galaxy mini in my card and while i was update recovery i chose by rwong the galaxy mini rom instead of the recovery image and while install the rom it told me faild then i chose the recovery image and install it and told me faild also .
so what are you say the problem can be from wrong rom or what ?1
i attached video about problem

u should flash the stock rom using odin and booting ur phone in download mode which can be done by holding the home and vol dwn buttons and powering up the phone.
this way also not working
Uhhh that sounds really bad - my ideas are off. You should search the forum for "unbrick device". As soon as you installed an unmatching ROM, your boot.img is the wrong now. That's a piont where I cannot help. Too less experiences.
Sorry

In your PC, download this,
uploaded.net/file/d2w6dl7r
extract it, turn on USB debugging in your setting (If your ICS you can turn it on in developer setting or if your Jellybean 4.2 or above then go to about phone and and tap build number 11 times then the developer option is enabled in settings.
Backup your Data and run Runme.bat and select Normal mode.
If your root was successful then you will se SuperSU app in your menu,
Now use this guide to install ADB + Fastboot in your device

If you did this all successfuly then i will tell you how to install a recovery.

Download the Adb and Fastboot in the given link and install it, after installing it go to the installed folder hold Shift + Right click and select Open windows command prompt here, then turn off your mobile to fastboot mode, It can be done by turning off the phone and holding Volume Up button while connecting the USB port to the PC, You must have fastboot drivers installed (Well... Google it or possibly it will come with your original mobile drivers as you may've installed before)
After you did this all in the Folder open command prompt type: "fastboot devices" without quotation and you will see your devices code or number in the command prompt window, now download this
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5OYTnbjVEkfYmlCWWlJMV9rbTA/preview
rename it to boot.img
and extract it in the adb folder and type: "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
in windows command prompt when done now type "fastboot reboot" and after a successful reboot disconnect your devices and you will have Recovery installed in your phone.
(WARNING: THIS KERNEL IS ONLY FOR MT6572, FLASH IT AT YOUR OWN RISK AND I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WWIII)

If you really crave for Custom ROM then
visit this page and follow the easiest tutorial to edit or ceate your very own ROM, you can edit your mobile is ROM with new animation and stability and later you can flash it in your own phone.
Hit Thanks if these all helped you.

Well.... hope you get your cell fixed soon.
Hey! its soft bricked!
you can fix it yourself, now download your firmware from iball or someother site and extract the kernel (boot.img) from it and flash it using the fastboot.

Guys, KITKAT is out for HP 7 Plus. I had successfully rooted the tablet on JB with no bootlooping issues but lost root when updated to Kitkat. Plz update your tablets and let us all work together in developing Custom ROMs and Recoveries.

No, it is not flawed. When you flash the zip the first time in recovery, it flashes your bootloader and recovery. Reboots into recovery again showing received update-1. Then choose the zip again. You have to do this 3 or 4 times. Keep on choosing the revovery zip again until it says completed.
Has everyone given up?
