Hi all,
I rooted my Optimus L9 P769 today and installed CWM, as well as flashing ext2sd.zip, which allows apps to be installed on an external SD.
However, since then, I have not been able to transfer any files from my PC to my phone, whether they are music, apks, or anything else. Whenever I try to, all I get is the standard window saying that the file is copying, but no progress is made.
Is this a sign that I did something wrong during the root/flash process? What can I do to fix it, short of removing ext2sd?

Ok, I have a very peculiar problem which I cant figure out. Here is what happened:
1. Update to 2.1 with Bin4ry flash tool
2. Root with Z4 root tool.
3. Install Apps2SD using following method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804574
4. Install Black HTC theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=821790
I then noticed that my Market app wouldnt work properly, I could browse and begin downloading apps but it would Force Close evry time just before installing them. Not knowing which step broke it I decide to start over as follows:
1. Restore to 2.1 with SEUS
2. Check Market, all appears fine.
3. Root with Z4 root tool.
4. Check Market, all appears fine.
5. Install Apps2SD as above.
6. Check Market, all appears fine.
7. Install Black HTC theme as above.
8. Check Market, FC issue rears its ugly head again.
I checked through all of the stages in the theme and I cant see one where I could have broken the Market app, very peculiar. I was playing around on my phone and installed a couple of apps from .apk files on my SD card, I then tried to back these up using Appmonster. It told me it couldnt write to the SD card, very odd. I then tried a simple copy and paste with Root Explorer, same problem saying it cant write to SD.
I rebooted and got all sorts of Force Closes so I am pretty sure the SD has got corrupted or mounted Read Only some how, but I cant figure out how.
I dont know if it is related but when I plug my phone in to the computer it cant read it as storage, I have to turn the phone off, remove the card and use a card reader to transfer data. It seems to me something is wrong with how the phone is mounting the card, but i cant see where it was changed. I am pulling what little hair I have left out with frustration at this, any and all help is greatfully welcomed.
Quick update, I put the SD into my Linux computer and tried to change the permissions to 777, no joy. Is this likely to prevent me writing to SD, and hence the problems? I understand that FAT32 filesystem doesnt support permissions, how can I make it work with a FAT32 partition?

Your app2sd partition is ext2 right?
I haven't taken notice to any others having this problem, but I may have simply missed it. When I use AOKP or CM9, I can't find certain files on either the built-in storage or in the sd card that I put in it today (I don't know if I have to do anything special to it or not -- do I have to format it?). I have some backups of apps and a few other things, but I can't browse the folders on my sd card because, for some reason, they're simply not listed. Regardless of file browser, I can't see certain files and folders.
Has anyone else had this problem and/or does anyone know what might be causing it? The files aren't hidden and I can see them just fine when I restore my rooted/stock 2.3.4 backup.
There are a couple possibilities why you can't see things. One is that your ext SD card may be now called EMMC. Two, and most likely, you have to give FE root priviledges in preferences.
Remember that any folder with a . (Period) in front of the folder name will be considered hidden. Some apps hide the folders they create automatically and as previously stated above if the file explorer yer using doesn't have root it may not be able to see them.

So how to show the hidden folders that have a period in front of them ? remove the period and the app will show itself ?
Am new to all this so please bare with me.
am trying to gain access to my phones root folders,Apps,Apks....and to make my phone read my external SD card.
my previous ROM was ICS 4.0.2. then i Rooted it..i used Method 2 + Method 2 Advanced---thanks to Jiangyi
Reference : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1679778
Then i flashed aokp_i9100g_jb_milestone-1 and then gapps-jb-20121011-signed for jellybean 4.1.x
The AOKP_Milestone works fine but my problem is that am not able to see my file manager on my device.i can see them on the computer only when i hook the device (i9100G) to the Computer and some of the folders do have periods in front of them,i did fix permissions from CWM recovery, but still nothing.
before flashing the Custom ROM i did not do any backup or restore, i had some applications on the device and some on the External SD card.
am aware of my mistake which probably was the sol issue of problem
when i try to go to Google play through the device it simply does not connect to it,"thats a problem that i had even on ICS"i was able to go to Google play from my computer and install an application from there ,but now when i try to install an app like the AppBack or any app for example
it says that the app has installed into my device but am not able to find it anywhere neither in the device or the root folders of the device through my (computer) only. because am not able to see any of my files through the device.
the Google_Library,music,files,diary,videos apps just doesn't exist. i see them all piled up in one widget in a faded color but they are simply not accessible.
and my mini external sd card can be seen by the device from the storage section in settings only but it says "Mount SD card
Insert an SD card for mounting"
when i click on it nothing happens.
i have not formatted my external SD card after flashing aokp rom. am not able to from the phone nor from the computer and i dont know what to press in CWM recovery in Advanced section so many options there don't know which one to do and which one to leave alone.
so what is my problem, what is the solution for this?
thank you

This forum is for the i777. You don't have this phone model. Please ask in your own forum. All u need to gain access to system files is a file manager that allows root access. For hidden files, I just use a file manager that has an option to show them.
Hello World,
I've got a question concerning the external 8gb sdcard on my phone,
the phone is rooted, has bootloader and cwm 6, the rom is stock btw
My phone can put/place some things to the sd but some don't,
for example,
- Camera saves some of the pics to it,
- My PC sees it when I connect the phone and I can put apps/music etc to it
but,
- I can't use the app2sd built into android assistant (or any other app2sd apps) to move the apps to the sd, they just won't see the sd,
- CWM wont backup to it,
No /sdcard/.android_secure found. Skipping backup of applications on external storage

I've searched the forum, but I can't actually find the right solution for this?
I'm new to all of this, and I want to learn. I've found some advices to similar problems and that the solution is to partition the sd, is that the catch or maybe something else?
Thank you in advance, newbie.
Edit
A new example of not seeing the sd in recovery,
I wanted to flash the "Sony Album" via the Pimp my Rom app, it downloaded the app successfully, it asked for clearing of the dalvik cache, I approved it,
phone rebooted and went into recovery, and then the recovery said that the file doesnt exist (something like that).
Edit
I've tried formatting the sd with fat32, no changes whatsoever :S
apps to sd
how to move apps to external sd card in lg optimus l5 e612. i had rooted the device and still it shows this device does not support apps to sd.
Hey guys, I realise that I may not be on the correct forum for this and for that i apologise, however I am quite new to this website and don't know my way around.
Anyway, I have recently backed up my whole phone storage to SD card using CWM recovery as there was no option to backup to an internal device. I wanted to take the backup and move it to my computer but I have a HTC One m7 which has no SD card. This isn't normally a problem for me because all the files seem to show up on the internal storage when i look on my computer anyway however despite searching through all of the folders, I simply cant find. The backup is 5gb in total and I know that it has been made sucessfully because my available storage has decreased by 5GB but it simply can't be found. Even when i look at the file manager on my phone I can't see it. Even if I can't move it to my PC I atleast want to be able to delete it, will factory resetting the device remove root access aswell as everything else and will I have to start all over again to delete this hefty 5GB backup?
Thanks for reading
Edit -- Nvm. I just went in and did a factory reset. Pretty sad since I hadnt backed up in about 2 weeks. My loss. My stupiditiy. Learn form our mistakes.
After the factory reset, I can view my SD card again which is pretty nice, so not a total loss.
-------------------------
Alright. A little about my phone. Its a Galaxy s5 with an 8gb micro sd card. The phone is rooted.
Last night I installed Apps2sd. When I first opened the app it mentioned that my SD card was not setup and I would need to run some "sd fix". I accepted, the phone rebooted and then when it came back up, its as if my SD card was blank. Not only blank, but after connecting phone to the PC, both my phone and card show but are empty. The SD card displays as -1376256 bytes free of -1376256 bytes. The phone shows 127mb free of 128mb.
I also made the mistake of uninstalled apps2sd after my phone booted up and I noticed the issue. Wasnt very smart of me as I can not seem to install it or anything back. Most apps including google play just crash when trying to load. When vieiwng files under My Files, basically everything is empty. If I try using FX file manager then most things say I dont have access.
Now when I first turn on phone and I boot into safestrap TWRP, I can go through and view files and I See all my stuff on my SD card and phone. I can even copy files from my SD card and place them in other directories (tried to copy the apps2sd apk onto phone to reinstall) but just cant ever see any of it when the phone is booted.
Also under TWRP, If I go to backup or anything for example, It lists Micro SD as 2132mb and Internal Storage as 3436mb. So im guessing apps2sd created a partition of some sort?
What have I done? What did my stupid ass do and is there any way to fix it?
tl;dr: Installed apps2sd, clicked things I shouldnt click. Cant view any files on phone or when connected to USB but can see everything under TWRP.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!
