i have been trying to unlock the bootloader on my p765 JB india , but it just keeps rebooting on passing the command "adb reboot oem-unlock". No fast boot mode. ADB is running, omap4 drivers installed. still no fast boot or unlock boot loader screen . the phone simply reboots.
Is P765 india bootloader permanantly locked? flashing 760 kdz is the only way to unlock bootloader ?

possibly yes, ota may not update everything like bootloaders etc
Some1 was successful in unlocking bootloader on v20a Indian, check this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40718073&postcount=15
It's updated through LG software.OTA update failed due to rooted ics Rom,even with rootkeeper update failed twice. I had gone through that thread but my.phone just restarts it never goes in to fastboot.
Think Indian version is locked permanently.

Many of my L9 threads and files are copied from XDA to other forums. Just see the files and thread are nearly same to my earlier version of this thread with little changes.
Some forums mentioned my name with credit but some did not.

Thanks , I had already gone through this thread, I rooted my phone (ICS) with your guide only (Lelus off line fix) .
Now the question remains unanswered " The boot loader in Indian Rom comes permanantly locked or not ". Ofcourse I can flash p760 then unlock and come back to Indian rom . But a simple note in your guide that indian rom is unlockable(is it?) will give lot more clarity to noobs like me. I can see a similar dicussion started in that thread also but it stopped with out any conclusion.
Once again thanking you for your great work.

Is it possible to unlock the bootloader with the smartphone locked to Vodafone or other service provider? If not, how can I unlock the smartphone?
Yes, you can. My sim-card is also locked, i suggest you unlock bootloader from newest flashtool cuz it's easier.
Or use the guide by 9Lucas5 (use semc.bat)
I tried to use the 9Lucas5 guide but I've got no results, probably because I have emuled Windows on my MAC OS .
But I haven't tried with this new version of the flashtool yet. Do I need any firmware?

I have x10i too, but it didn't work. Tomorrow I will try again.
I have many times unlocked bootloader, perfectly know this procedure and has noticed, that sometimes it is possible to reach result, only by preliminary flashing of official 2.1 ROM. Certainly, thus it is not more necessary to do "kernel downgrade"

Use flashtool method not kernel up/down method it slightly old and flashtool is a one button method which doesn't require changing kernel in any way (from gb)

That's not what it does. It means that if u use a custom kernel it will boot into that straight away, saving time, rather than booting up semc kernel then custom one (hence why se logo disappears on boot)

hi i am a new user of xperia neo.....in my device bootloader unlock allowed says NO...now can anyone help me to unlock my bootloader ???? plzz someone help me ,which method i can use to unlock bootloader....and if my bootloader is lock can i use recovery mode on my device ????
Please read the stickies before posting.
Boot loader unlock no= no fast boot so you cannot flash custom kernels, but you can flash all stock ones including ics.
You can still root and install cwm, this will allow you to flash any rom for locked boot loader.

Actually no you can just read the stickies, you are going to murder your phone, you cannot downgrade to 2.3.3 you'll get the 0% battery issue.
Why people start messing with things without research I don't know.
Do your self a favor and read the stickies before you try anything else you will find the right way to root

Hi
I was surfing around and found a very useful code for those who don't know if have bootloader unlocked.
In dialer:
3845#*installed rom model#
Eg.: 3845#*760#
Roll the menu down and you will see "Bootloader Unlock Check"
Click there and then click again in "Bootloader Unlock Check"
Will return Lock or Unlock
It has many other tools you can explore
Hope it helps!

Dial it again, find the unlock checker and open it. It won't unlock/lock it, but it will tell you if it is unlock/lock.
When it should give me the answer, it doesn't. I just get the error and back to desktop.. :-??
The hidden menu does not work properly even on jb..shows my bootloader is locked..its unlocked running cm..best way to check if BL is locked is s/w upgrade mode will say bootloader status unlocked..if it don't say that on s/w upgrade mode ur bootloader is not unlocked..don't flash stuff or u will get security errors or a bricked device!

Not for everyone
Sorry men but I think is not for everyone because I do can access to the hidden menu but none of the options say anything about bootloader, maybe is that I can't identify because is abbreviate, if is the case please tell me how is in you're cellphone, I have a P769g running android 4.1.2 V20a by telcel, I alredy know that has a locked bootloader but I don't knew about this "hidden menu" and I wanna tried. Sorry for my errors but I don't write often in english.
Pretty neat menu even has a lot of stuff to test the phone hardware and such.

P760 rom is compatible with P765 (Remove Nfc.apk by root browser to disable NFC). But you must unlock your phone boot loader first. You're new here so I assume that your phone bootloader is still locked. If you install custom rom without unlock bootloader, you will get security error.
PS. you should post this question in FAQ forum.

Does unlocking the bootloader wipe all the phone data? Also, I want to install CWM recovery. But when I installed ROM Manager, it said that CWM is not yet available for my phone. Do you know of any workaround?

It wipe all your data. So you need to do a backup first. Please use Locked BL CWM, it's somewhere in dev forum. And it's good that CWM recovery doesn't support P765 because if you install CM, you will soft-brick your phone. You must unlock your phone bootloader before flash any custom rom.
I bought this device in Canada, The provider is Bell.
My bootloader is locked. And following the Sony steps.. It says it won't unlock.
In device, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. Bootloader unlock allowed says No,
All my favorite apps won't work properly without root.
If anyone figures a way to root it.. I'll give you $100.

Root - via cwm with supersu flashable zip
Flash totaly stock kernel
Relock

$100.... it's sounds good? Okay from my experience I bought my XperiaZ from Australian Telco before and it said Bootloader unlock allowed:No
but when I flashed official generic ftf using flashtool. It's said Bootloader Unlock allowed:Yes. So if you can take a risk try it(do it by your own! and don't forget to back up!)... you might try to do that. Luckly my XperiaZ2 is bootloader allowed one. Hope I have a chance to get 100bucks

This is very dangrous, this depends on the contents of the FTF and i wouldent recoment this at al
Have you tried flashing the German DE generic FTF, i think it has stuff for the TA partition
This may do your job
I still dont recomend, do this at your own will if you know how to unbrick a device
Although i would try it but only because i know how to unbrick a xperia (lol this part usualy takes a while)

I noticed him that it must be done by his own.... But he asks us to is there are anyway to do that? so I just posted the way I did.
I am not recommending him to do that.... I just simply answered his question. Always flash ftf w/o TA and partition.
It is recommended everywhere and If once he started to searching about flash tool it is warned by everyone.
You can't back up TA partition w/o root. So I don't think there is any way to get XperiaZ2 to back to completely stock.
(Although i would try it but only because ←What does it mean? It doesn't make sense for me.)
Well, I tried to flash the stock FTF.. same version as my devices. It errored.. and I am now bricked.
You can't modify an FTF and flash it to a bootloader locked device, modifying it will break Sony's signature verification
I'm guessing there's no way to unbrick?

Honestly i say keep your $$$ and wait for a exploit or root method of sorts
Me and my FTF will be a while and Z2 Development has started very slow and may be a while before anything of the sorts comes avaliable
I suggest if you realy want to root try exchanging your device for an unlocked one (or unlockable :/)
