LG code distribution - Invalid archive for P760 V20B ? - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Hello everybody,
By curiosity, I downloaded the LG P760 JB V20B ROM source code provided by LG on this page :
https://wws.lg.com/global/support/opensource/opensourceList?types=ALL&search=p760
Unfortunatly, when I try to decompress the provided archive with 7Zip, it said to me the archive is invalid...
Then, I downloaded the archive containing the source code for ICS V10A and I didn't met this issue.
Does LG made a real mistake on their "LGP760(Optimus L9)_Android_JB_P760v20b.zip" archive or am I using the wrong tool to uncompress it ?
Thank you for your answers.

Did you try to redownload it? Sometimes things get messed up during downloading.

I used my company bandwidth to download it (I know, it's bad ). The downloaded file size is 165MB.
And when I download it again, it's abnormaly fast : I think the proxy has kept a copy of the file.
I should try to download it from my home connection this evening. I will tell if the result is better .

May be this is the reason I keep MIRRORING the different types of Data.
Check 2nd post of this thread and dont forget to hit THANKS button

Ok, it was just a download issue. And redownload it directly from my company bandwidth didn't fix anything because of a proxy copy. When I downloaded it in my home, it was fine .

Multirar app?

Hi there everyone! I'm looking for an app, which would open multi-rar files such as .r00, .r01, ect. and extract one big file from them.
I've tried several apps found on Android market, but non of them did what I want to do. Any ideas?

Try AndroZip.

That doesn't even work well with single file .RARs, it's unrar code is too old.
It couldn't extract any of mine, other apps could.
But yeah, there is no good .RAR app at all out there at the moment.
Did you try Unrar Pro (paid) or Unrar (free) ? Description for both of them reads that they can extract multi-part rar archives.
I tried UnRarPro, the free version adds delay loops into the extraction to make you buy the "full" version, and buying the full version.... I don't, paying to use code that is open source (unrar sources are open source!) I define as total rip-off.
So, both hardly quallify for me as "good" - but for the occasional unraring the delay-looped version might just work fine.
I'll do my own eventually, just need to find some time.
So there is actually no good .rar app in the whole Android market?
Try contacting Rarlabs Win rars owner .

4.03.605.2 ruu

Does anyone have a valid download link for this RUU. I've tried all of the links from Android Police and they either give me a "folder invalid" message after the download, or they give me a broken link. I found a dropbox link from the thread in the General section and I got the same invalid message. I really need to flash this RUU. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

I tried all the Android Police mirrors and the links either don't work, or I get the invalid folder error after the download finishes (mirror 1). Also, that torrent link wasn't working.
EDIT: I just tried the first mirror on AP for the 4th time and still getting the error. Is there anywhere else this RUU is located?

I just redownloaded the file, AGAIN, from Android Polices AP Mirror #1 (which is hosted on beta.androidfilehost.com, a solid reliable hosting site) by clicking the link then the green arrow circle... about 3 minutes and it was done, double checked MD5 and it's still a match. If all these sites don't work for you AND the torrent doesn't work either, maybe the problem isn't with the mirrors or the file...

I tried this link after reading your post and I am downloading now. The green arrow may be misleading because it looks like those sponsored links. I first used the wrong blue download link at the bottom, not even considering the green arrow...
Mirror #1 worked great last night

The torrent didn't work because it didn't have any seeds.
As far as the RUU, I was only able to get Mirror 1 to work from my wife's phone. I tried downloading it on 3 different PCs at work (since my own phone isn't working) and each of them gave me the invalid folder error. Just a heads up to anyone else trying who possibly gets this error.
Shipped-roms.com, ......vigor section. DLs fast.

Check your winzip program. I kept getting a corrupt file error on every zip file I downloaded and ended up being the program not the file. I changed to 7zip and the error went away.

Thanks for the suggestion. The download I used from my wife's phone worked fine. I'll have to download 7zip on my work PC.

The Vendor image issue - Most Vendor image files can not be found anywhere in the int

Most Vendor image files for S9 plus, are impossible to find. I've been searching some of them for more than half a year. How I wish they where uploaded somewere visibly. The whole vendor image addition turns out to be an other nightmare deviced by Google to make our lives harder, not safer.
Devs please help us!
Devs, you are our only possible saviors when facing this incredibly annoying matter.
You can easily extract the vendor img from stock firmware downloaded on sites like sammobile or samfirm. Just open the AP_ file with something like 7zip or winrar and the vendor image is right there you don't need any developer to do it for you

File encrypted! How can I open it!! HELP!!

I MADE THIS THREAD A FEW MONTHS AGO, DIDN'T GET THE ANSWER!! PLEASE HELP!
So, my brother backed up my Samsung Galaxy S4 on his laptop about 3 years ago. Can't remember the program used. He gave me the backup file recently. It's a .bak file which is 1.4GB.
(I screenshotted the file name and attached it here titled " FILE BACKUP TITLE.PNG")
I edited the file, to a .exe. (eg “Samsung SM-G350E_20191001_103009.bak” delete the bak and write exe after the dot and press enter.) That way I can access everything through winrar. However all of the files are encrypted! We have no idea what the password is, what shall I do! (Attached the "enter password" screen in winrar titled " RAR.PNG")
It has 1000's of photos from 2014-2017, I have no idea on what to do. I've checked out brute forcing, but I wasn't sure how to do it.
Thanks.
Here is two passwords mentioned that you could try... or use as base...

Try to convert the password protected .RAR-file into a .ZIP-file which you then can easily open without any password protected.

I'm not sure how to do that. Everytime I click on the file, it forces me to enter a password.
Are you sure that would work? It's not a rar file though. It's an application now, because I renamed it from .bak to .exe.
Thanks!!
(Attached screenshot of the standard file (the BAK file), then the edited one which opens through winrar (the application). Won't upload for some reason, (in the original post).
So basically, the file is a ".BAK" file, then same file was renamed to be an "application" file.

Try some hex editor to see its first few bytes. HxD is good...
Probably not a rar (Rar!), nor an exe (MZ), more likely a zip (PK).

Opens in winrar - so there is limited number of candidates...
Try for example https://mark0.net/soft-trid-e.html or
take a screenshot from the start of the file...

By the way, I tried that and it didn't work. Apparently winrar "cannot execute" it.
Okay, it's a zip. If older encryption is used then one known file could be used to decrypt it. Was it Advanced something that had that option??
Did that Wondershare Tunesgo ring any bell??
One could try use it again, mayby an old version and see if the files saved are in same order, etc...

Alright, I'll try that wondershare stuff now. I have seen it before, could be a subtle memory! Hold on.

It was advanced password recoveries from elcomsoft, but there are free tools for this known plaintext attack too. https://www.google.com/search?q=known+plaintext+attack+zip
Quite many variables that must match for it to work, but then again, only 12 known bytes is enough, of which at least 8 bytes need to be continuous, so only part of the known plaintext file is needed...
To see if it's even possible open it with 7-zip and see the encryption method.
It should be "zipcrypto deflate/store". Maybe also rar shows it....
If it looks like wondershare file, then using that password (that didn't work) as base could work. At least it would not take much time check numbers from 0-10000+++.

Alright I see, I think you're talking about a bruteforce attack right? Do you have a link for a proper one? So far, none of them havent even started up properly yet.
Alright I see, how do I load the file onto wondershare aswell? There doesnt seem to be a dialogue for it at all.
Thanks.
