I was a little bit disappointed to find out that when I plugged my canon eos dslr into this phone via otg it said "device not supported". After a little reading it looks as though HTCs bootloader does not support otg without a power adapter. Anyone know of a kernel/rom/mod that will open up this feature?
Thx.

Hi,
I found a program on xda to control Nikon DSLR. It work using a OTG cable, so bought the cable. But the phone doesn't recognize either the flash drive or camera. I did some research and it says that Vibrant usb port doesn't have any output power.
So my question is can OTG work on Samsung vibrant.
Thanks for all the answers
Maybe if you install a custom kernel, but there is no power output so you will have to use a Y cable one side to plug in the device and other to provide power.
My Nexus can output power with custom kernel and using Stick Mount to mount flash drives.

Thanks for your reply. Let me try with a custom kernel.

Hi,
I've been trying to figure this out for almost a year. I got a cheap Chinese tab with a microusb and a microusb host port. If my rom and kernel have usb otg support, drivers etc. (according to the usb host diagnostics app) why would my usb keyboard and mouse (and usb storage) not work with a nonpowered or even through a powered usb hub? Is there something I'm missing? I've tried stock rom, official update and even a custom rom with usb drivers. So one app gives me S3C usb host missing...and usb host diagnostics says kernel and rom support it...there are drivers which I checked by a root browser. I've tried with nonpowered OTG as well as through a powered usb hub. Nothing works. What else should I have?
Thank you!
EDIT: Found something interesting. If I connect my usb port to power and my keyboard or mouse to the usb host port, then they are detected...but if I disconnect the other port from power they DON'T work. I tried using a powered usb hub on usb host port...does not detect. Is this a problem with usb modeswitch?
Chuwi V10HD 3G - The micro USB OTG port stopped working - charging works, but neither the Android or Windows OS recognize any USB devices plugged in to OTG. Have been emailing back and forth with GeekBuying.com post-sales support (seller) for several weeks now. They have been responsive and helpful, but I've still hit a wall.
They want me to flash the Chuwi with the latest firmware, suggesting that the OTG driver may be hosed. But, at some point you encounter the boot screen, and I need to move the highlight over "Boot Manager" icon and launch Boot Manager.
But I can't plug in a keyboard or mouse because OTG won't work. And no OS has booted - so touch screen doesn't work. And this micro USB port is the only USB port on the V10HD.
Support wants me to find someone who is comfortable with the flashing process - but how would that person launch Boot Manager without a keyboard or mouse?
I've heard that more recent Intel CPUs have a capability to let a remote PC stay connected during the entire boot process - but I don't think that works for these Broadwell CPUs. Is there any software I can install that would let me control this process remotely?
Can anyone help?
so yesterday i tried to put otg for my phone but then i read that my phone cant have otg but it was too late my phone battery died so how can i acces the files to remove otg?
Like the title, my Poco F1 got this issue since last week, just right when I want to flash clean from PE+ to PE11 beta, pendrive OTG doesn't work or no way to use usb connection when connected to PC(just charging). I've tried Wipe All Data of PE+, flashed back to stock recovery rom(via twrp, and I forgot to reflash Twrp and now I'm staying forever on stock until fixed)
Pendrive OTG, PC connection, Headset Type C, QuickCharge simply don't work.
Meanwhile, Keyboard and Mouse via OTG work normally.
Is the USB connector or USB board the one at fault? Or is the mainboard/QCOM chip at fault?
