Hi, i'm new to this forum and i need help to fix my phone. I tried to mod my phone and I end up brinking it (I think) and here is what I did:
1- Unlock my bootloader. Successfully
2-Flash TWRP recovery image. Successfully
3-Rooted with Android_Revolution_HD_Root_and_BusyBox. Successfully
4-Here is where everything started... I tried to flash a rom (Bulletproof-m7-3.2) and everything went wrong and please do not ask what because i do not know :crying:
now I do not have no OS and my internal storage is not working or missing or it being wipe off I do not know. I can access bootloader and TWRP recovery image but i can't install another rom because of the problem with the storage that do not let me copy files into it. Well hopefully somebody could help me with this and here is a picture from the bootloader.
Can you boot into your twrp recovery? You can always install the rom through side load. Some one correct me if I'm wrong with that because I'm not very experienced with that but I'll look around for a thread for it.
However I use a method I feel is very simple, but you just need a otg usb adapter. Put your custom rom zip on a flash drive and plug it in the otg before booting into recovery. Make sure you have the latest twrp too (2.6.0.0). The n you can install from external SD.
Again though, I think you can install from a side load method or adb.

ADB Sideload and ADB Push should both work with that recovery. I have issues with my Asus Windows 8 machine, even on the Ubuntu side, but the old faithful wife keeps a Gateway POS around with Windows 7 on it. I've used both commands successfully in Windows 7 every time.

Bulletproof-m7-3.2 = kernel, just to clarify.

You have to check two things:
1. Do you have HTC drivers installed? They can be installed with HTC Sync from HTC support page, or only drivers from here. Install drivers, connect phone to PC, and wait for windows to install new device.
2. Do you have proper ADB and Fastboot installed? This can be achieved along with android sdk installation or separate from here.
Once you have these things, make a folder on primary partition (C for example), name it "adb", put in it all adb and fastboot executables and dll's and other files there are in an adb package. Then, press and hold SHIFT, right click on "adb" folder name, select "Open command window here" from menu, click, release SHIFT.
If your phone is connected to PC, now you can communicate with it. Only, in fastboot mode, when I type adb devices, I don't get HTC name, only adb list of devices attached, but list is empty. No problem, the PC will communicate with phone anyway. If you can't see that message after adb devices command, and you see waiting for devices, that is a problem - Your PC don't "see" your phone.
So, good luck! :good:

After flashing the rom, extract the boot.img file from the zip you downloaded in your pc, copy it to the folder where your fastboot.exe is present, and run cmd with the following command after getting in the bootloader.
fastboot flash boot boot.img

Look man, search for the device code in google and find the custom rom for exactly the same device.... You should flash the boot image exactly
the same as in the zip file..... I think you have mistakenly flashed wrong boot image....
Try this one... I am currently using this in my HTC Desire V
here
First put the zip file in sd card, boot into recovery, factory reset, wipe dalvik cache.
Flash the above zip and after flashing, reboot the device... It will take some time to reboot... Atleast 5 mins, here in this rom, some chinese
animations as boot... Power down, reboot bootloader and flash the boot image of this zip and then reboot....
Thank you, and tell me if it will work..

Just try to flash the rom once again....First of all, reboot recovery, wipe factory data, wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache...
Now flash the zip.
Let it reboot..
Next one is to shut the phone down, reinsert the battery, and flash the boot image of the zip file in bootloader.
Things should work.. If not, there is only one reason, you are not flashing the zip compatible to HTC Desire V..
In this post
here it is clearly written,
Bugs
-Camera
-GSM/CDMA/WCDMA
-WI-FI
-BLUETOOTH
-RECENT APPS (to access it hold home button)
Now if he said like that, it is not gonna work.....
What can I do?
Thanks

From what you say seems that you can't manage to flash correct the boot.img. For this phone is important to flash the associated boot.img that comes with the ROM you install. You can find that separate, as attachment in ROM post, or you can extract it from ROM zip.
And then, you have to reboot phone in bootloader mode (only in bootloader), and with command prompt or terminal, from a directory where you have adb and fastboot files along with that boot img, you must flash the boot image. The command is:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
, or instead of boot.img, the name of boot img you get from ROM's post.

I don't know for sure. That's the reason I asked him to post here his flashing routine. If that's correct then maybe is something wrong with the phone... I just wanted to help him. And nobody was born knowing everything. We all are learning one from each other.
Hello everyone,
recently I bought an HTC One X Plus that was AT&T powered. I wanted to get rid of the restrictions they imposed on the phone, like using the FM Radio, and decided to flash a ROM. In TWRP I did first with success. Then I wanted to flash a custom rom and wiped all data, including the zip file that was pushed to the mobile phone. Consecuence: I was left without an OS on the phone and could not install the custom rom. Now my phone is bricked! Luckily I saved CWM recovery on my PC, and I tried fastboot flash recovery recovery.img. It is being pushed somewhere, but I still don't have access to my mobile phone! Who can help me with this, I am desperate! It seems I made an expensive error!

Lol,
First of all , Why would you flash CWM if you already have TWRP installed ?
If you want to flash a custom ROM just use adb while in recovery to push the rom.zip to your sdcard in order to flash it on your phone.
For example if you want to flash cm11.zip , open a command prompt or a terminal if you're using linux ,then change directory to where the zip file is placed.
for example if your cm11.zip is placed on Desktop , after opening cmd use "cd C:\Users\username\Desktop" then type "adb push cm11.zip /sdcard/" (this will push the ROM zip into your sdcard so you can flash it from recovery.
if you need any more help then feel free to ask ! lol
Please press the thanks button if i helped !

Thanks pal,
problem is only that the ADB gives the message "no device detected", don't forget that the OS on the mobile phone was wiped! But I found the solution, using a tool called WinDroid for HTC One X Plus. With this tool, I flashed CWM to the phone and rebooted in recovery mode. From there, I could mount the SD-card which gave me the option to copy the .zip file to /SDCARD/ using ADB. Also with the tool CWM, I then installed the file, and it worked. I'm on the air now, passed a night without sleep but I learned a lot!! Problem solved!.
Even if you don't have an OS installed ADB should work while in recovery.
Well I'm glad you could solve your problems. I knew about the toolkit but trying the harder way is always better for gaining more knowledge.

Stable ROM for HTC One XL Telus Version
I have HTC One XL / Tellus with 64 GB Internal Storage. I wanted to update it to Jelly Bean through Custom roms like ViperXL + / Elegance.
The phone has HBOOT 1.32.000
Whenever I flash Viper XL+ Tellus on the phone the phone Boots to the Home Screen and then if I unlock then the phone does nothing and just shows the HTC logo on Screen.
I had verified the ROM zip file and had checked its MD5
I got same results with Lower version of Viper XL 1.2.0 / Elegancia 6.2.0 ..
I have flashed ROM 2 to 3 Times with same result.
Is HBOOT1.32.00 not compatible to these ROMs?
What am I doing wrong? Has anyone faced the same problem.
Thanks,
SK

you probably forgot to flash the boot.img (the kernel). That's probably why it's not booting
Just reboot into bootloader (fastboot mode) connect it to your computer and use "fastboot flash boot boot.img" then fastboot erase cache then fastboot reboot
This should get it working

Then flash another kernel. Other than the one that comes with the ROM. Flash a kernel compatible with viperx and it might work.
Cuz when i installed ViperX+ on my phone the kernel that came with the ROM didn't work so i used elite kernel instead. I honestly don't knkw if there's Elite kernel for your phone.. Just flash any other kernel compatible

I just rooted my phone lenovo k4 note using golden twrp and flashed resurrection remix with open gapps. Unfortunately the gapps zip file was corrupted and I wasn't able to fix that.
So I booted my phone to the new os , took the new feeling but later realised the gapps are mandatory.
So I downloaded a new file and tried to go to twrp recovery mode. But I wasn't able to. I thought the bootloader must've locked itself up so I unlocked it again, flashed the twrp recovery IMG file with adb and booted my phone to recovery. But still twrp didn't start.
BUT THEN I SAW THAT I HAD NO INTERNAL STORAGE
Just the SD card
Later I was able to wipe the custom rom from twrp and I flashed the resurrection remix and gapps.
Still internal storage was missing. Can anybody help me please?

Try flashing the stock ROM, see if your storage reappears on your stock ROM.
Also, do you get any information about your internal storage in Settings>Storage on your current ROM?
I don't know if it will help, but in TWRP recovery, go in Advanced>Fix permission
I feel like the OS doesn't have permission to internal storage, in the best case it will fix your issue in the worst case it will do nothing
But safest and easiest way to fix those kinds of issues is to wipe every thing and flash official ROM

Settings>Storage just shows the is size that's is roughly around 7gb
It says 7.11gb used of 7.15gb.
It should have been 16gb
I usually have around 10 GB free internal storage

Ok first of all makes sure ADB is enabled in your settings just in case something goes wrong you will be able to fix it without swearing
Once ADB connect your phone to your PC and use CMD/terminal command to reboot your phone in bootloader
Then reflash TWRP using the CMD/terminal
Once it's done reboot your phone and try to go to the recovery
EDIT: I made some search
And I need you to provide me some more information
RR ROM you flashed, I need the Android version (Lollypop/5.x or Marshmallow/6.x.x or Nougat/7.x.x)
And please provide me the link to the TWRP recovery you used (if you found the TWRP recovery not on XDA, DM me the link instead, follow the rules.)
I might need the phone model/or code if applicable
(Ex: I have a Huawei Nexus 6P but codename is angler) you can see this in the bootloader
EDIT 2: seems like your issue already been answered heads on this thread

Thanks for the help but I found what was the concern (my problem is not fully solved)
The recovery was very stubborn to just start up.
So I used the official twrp app and flash booted through my phone.
Fortunately it worked.
I wiped everything including internal storage and the storage just showed up in my pc.
I flashed the ROM and Gapps again and the problem got solved.
There just one thing now, the internal storage is there when I go to Settings>Storage but cant access through File Explorer or pc.
The apps got downloaded to the internal storage only so its not much of a problem though.
I am having the same issue.

hi, i am new here. i need emergency help. i have "htc desire w826" which is bought from china mainland. i wanted global rom so i unlocked the bootloader and changed the stock rom (lollipop) by using TWRP. it was working good but the battery was draining so fast. so, i wanted to changed the rom again. i tried another marshmallow rom but it was not stable and doing restart after every few minutes. then i also removed it by using TWRP, but accidentally the TWRP recovery is not working now and the phone is stuck in fastboot option.
i also tried to flash the phone by downloaded few custom roms (OPHCIMG.zip files) through sd card, but every time it says "devices halted due to large image file", even though i formated sd card both ntfs and fat32.
I also tried to connect and flash my phone through computer but unfortunately my pc (in ADB cmd window) can't find my phone!! :crying:
Please guys if anyone there suggest me which can help me, i would be very greatful. thank you

i also tried to flash the phone by downloaded few custom roms (OPHCIMG.zip files) through sd card, but every time it says "devices halted due to large image file", even though i formated sd card both ntfs and fat32.
I also tried to connect and flash my phone through computer but unfortunately my pc (in ADB cmd window) can't find my phone!! :crying:
Please guys if anyone there suggest me which can help me, i would be very greatful. thank you

Hi , first give me answer on this question
1. Is System status : modified or official or temporary ?
2. Bootloader : Locked / Unlocked ?
3. Secure status: S-On or S-Off ?
4. Are you able to go in RUU mode?
command: fastboot oem rebootRUU
5. Post here you getvar info :
command: fastboot getvar all
6. Did you tried to update from sd card Official firmware ?
Format sd to fat32 , put RUU firmware inside it , make sure your device is OFF and rename that firmware to ruu don't add ruu.zip because it will be double ruu.zip.zip in your windows probably if is your extensions file types is checked , insert sd card , hold vol + and power button together and release once you see boot image , or start HTC it will automatically start flashing .
