[Q] Rooted Tab Trouble - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I rooted my Galaxy Tab 10.1 to CM10. My laptop will not recognize the tablet and now it seems to be stuck on the Samsung screen. Any suggestions? I can access the ClockworkMod file area by holding down power and volume down. I searched and couldn't find a similar set of circumstances on the forums. Thank you in advance!

Make a full wipe and then flash it again. Your tab can't connect to comp because you need to tick the mtp check box at settings -> storage -> 3 dot button.

[Q] HELP! Noob in trouble...Root Failure?

HELP!!!
I just bought a new Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and I attempted to root it via the instructions from XDA. Now all I get is a screen that says "Samsung GALAXY Tab 2 10.1"
Did I just screw this up or is there a way to reset it?
Somehow, I am hoping that this didn't totally screw it up.
I can get into the "Warning" screen. But that's all. When I try and shut it off, it comes back to the black screen with "Samsung GALAXY Tab 2 10.1"

sounds like your already in download mode?? If the galaxy tab 2 is the same as the original you need to press the power button and volume down button together and release the power button only when you see the samsung galaxy tab writing, that will then put you to the bootloader screen that shows the 2 icons which I think you mean.
You then press the volume up button to make your selection, if its on the android icon it will put you into download mode which then shows the warning sign which you then press the volume up button to get to the screen where it says downloading... do not turn off target!! This sounds like the point where you are at.
You then need to connect your tab to your pc and use odin
are you using these instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1474971 ???

I was, but I am now stuck on the black screen with "Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.0".
I made it to here, but I don't have a SD card installed.
Put the Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip onto the ROOT of your SDCARD/USBSTORAGE.
Next we want to power the tab off.
With the Tablet off boot into Recovery Mode
Now I always Wipe/Data Factory Reset 3X, Wipe Cache 3X and Wipe Dalvik Cache 3X as well.
I do this because I'm anal and it's less chance of things going wrong with the flash so make sure you have everything backed up you need.
However wiping all this from CWM will NOT delete your SDCARD/USBSTORAGE.
After you have wiped everything........
Select Install zip from sdcard
What should I do next? Do I have an OS installed on my Tab?
scrap what I said, your in the wrong section, there is a different section for the galaxy tab 2 10.1 that you need to go to, read as many of the threads as possible to get a better understanding and make sure you follow the correct instructions for your model number. It's different to the original. One of the threads on there is this one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1657056

[Q] Need help! gt-p7500

Hello.
I installed the official firmware via Kies.
Thereafter, charging plate, nothing happens on the screen. The screen lights up, but no picture. After some time, heard a welcome sound. Then press the power button the screen and then re-enable the screen that would go to the unlock screen - that is, image appears on the screen and on the tablet works fine.
I tried to enter download mode. When you press the volume - and the power button the screen just lights up but no picture. Then that would go into a mode, you need to blindly press buttons as you remember. Download In the picture did not appear, and in the installation menu appears base with a choice of a full wipe, wipe cache, install from SDcard and from the cache, restart the device. But when set to SDcard tablet gives the inscription E: Unknown volume for path [/sdcard]
What happened to the screen and how is it treated? (the problem is not the hardware - the system works after download)

You went to the wrong mode lol...that was recovery mode. Download mode is the right one. Then, you connect to PC and reflash stock ICS via Odin and see if your problem goes away.
In case you don't know, go to www.sammobile.com and download your desired country's firmware.

Issue inside

Hello,
I was attempting to clear the data off of the i777 through the settings and now I am stuck at the "Samsung Galaxy S2" screen bootlooping. I did not have a microSD card in the device and I believe that was my downfall.
I can enter download mode but nothing else. What is the recommended procedure for this?

The good news is that you can enter download mode. Without knowing anymore about what firmware you were using, or what you want to return to, I simply suggest using ODIN 1.8x to flash the stock ucmd8 jb 4.1.2 firmware.
firmware can be found in creepy's download repository, or directly from samsung.

...if you can enter download mode, then you can also enter recovery. if you are using an i777 (not i9100):
recovery mode: vol+ & vol- & power with usb cable UNPLUGGED
download mode: vol+ & vol- & power with usb cable PLUGGED IN
I can only get download mode, unable to enter recovery.
Also I found instructions on ODIN and I cannot get passed the step where the device needs to be recognized by USB, I tried other ports and no luck.
This is my first time with using Odin.
Previously installed rom was SHOstock v4.0

1) Whether you had an external sd card or not is irrelevant.
2) What exactly did you do to "clear the data?"
3) As Cyril said, you should be able to get into recovery. If you can, perform a wipe data/factory reset from within recovery and see if that allows the phone to boot.
Edit: Please answer 2, and explain what happens when you try to enter recovery.
I went settings - > clear user data and it went into bootloop after that.
As for trying to enter recovery, the screen goes blank and then goes back to the Samsung screen

@d0wnti.me, Did you install the latest Samsung mobile USB drivers on your PC?
@creepyncrawly , Is it possible to kill recovery but not the bootloader?

There is no such option that I am aware of.
Do you mean "Settings > Back up and reset > Factory data reset" or "Settings > Storage > Format USB storage." Those are the only two options that would even come close to "clear user data" as far as I am aware.

Try holding down all three buttons continuously while the Galaxy SII screen appears, screen goes black, and Galaxy SII screen appears the second time, then release the buttons.

1. I wasn't really paying attention to the process, I think it was factory data reset.
2. Just tried that and nothing happened.

1) I'm not clear about the reasons for this fact, but performing a factory data reset from within settings while the system is booted sometimes causes issues. I'm also not sure if that is the cause of your issue, although there does seem to be a direct correlation. For future reference, you should always perform a reset by entering recovery and performing a "wipe data/factory reset"
2) Again, I'm not sure what the damage is, but I'm going to assume that it is a firmware issue and not a hardware issue. The first thing I would suspect is nand read/write corruption, which can be recovered through download mode.
So, since the phone will go into download mode, the first order of business is getting the computer to recognize it so that you can connect to Odin. Odin3 v1.85 is recommended. If you don't have it, download from XDA-Developers. Open Odin on the desktop and then put the phone into download mode. The sequence is important, as Odin must be open first. Hold down both volume buttons but not the power button, and then plug the USB cable into the phone. In Odin you will see "Added" in the comments area.
Once you are able to get Odin to recognize the phone, I will post how to recover from nand r/w corruption. So try the above and let me know your results and we'll go from there.
Full instructions on how to use stand-alone Odin3 to flash firmware, if you need it:
Follow and recheck each of the following steps. Do them in order listed, as some steps are dependent on previous steps. Instructions are for Odin3 v1.85. It should work with any version of Odin, but some details, like color of items, may be different.
1.) Open Odin on the Windows Desktop.
2.) Have the USB cable plugged into USB port on the computer, but *Not* plugged in to the phone.
3.) Shut the phone off.
4.) While holding down the vol+ & vol- keys, plug micro-usb plug into phone.
5.) In Odin, you should get the yellow box under where it says ID:COM with the text 0:[COMx], and in the Message area, <ID:0/00x> Added!! where x is some number, usually 1-8.
6.) In Odin, make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked and all other items are not checked.
7.) Click on the PDA button. Browse to the tar file you want to install and select it so its path appears in the text edit box next to the button.
8.) Make sure the check box next to the PDA button is checked.
9.) Click the Start button.
10.) You should see the green progress bar advancing.
Update: I was unable to get anything done with the device, so I sold it on eBay as-is.

I have done
Download Odin 3 v1.85
Download v.4.04 - ITV - P7500XXLQ8-P7500OXALQ8 - Original
Start Odin. In Odin select only 'Auto Reboot' and 'F-Rreset.
Since it is the original firmware, there is not not a select: Re-Partition
Click the PDA button and select the firmware
Put the tablet to Downloading
Connect the tablet to the PC via the USB cable
Press the START button. And here we go ... until the first square box in Odin will turn green, indicating PASS
Go into recovery, factory reset and try again.

Hold down the power button + volume down button. That should lead you to the bootloader screen, where there's two options, one is download mode, the other is recovery mode. Select the recovery mode. From there, use the volume buttons to navigate to the factory reset option.

Then download the recovery from http://droidbasement.com/galaxy/roms/cm10.1/p4/ and flash it in Odin. Then wipe system, data, dalvik and cache this time.

If not, I guess you need a USB-JIG...
