Would this be the right procedure? I was reading the wiki and want to ask..
I would do the following...
(I am rooted; BulletProof 2.5.. Android 2.3.4 - Tmobile)
1) Follow this tutorial to unroot and get back to stock:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27058110&postcount=44
2) Follow this tutorial to install ICS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26865752&postcount=27
3) AND...Then... I will be unrooted..
How would I root again on ICS?
So is this the right procedure??
and what would I do for (#3)?

You don't necessarily need to use my OTA tutorial if you're gonna restore to complete stock GB, then you can just download the file via the software update option on your phone and let it install the update itself, the guy above answered your final question already.

, go for it then. If you're on tmobile, there's a file that can be used as a PH85IMG to update instead, that may be a bit easier if the OTA is iffy.

Yes unfortunately bc don't you need a recovery like cwm or 4ext to flash super user? Anyways you should s off. Makes everything super easy.

Does make it super easy, doesn't have to though, it's all upto him if he wants to. Lol at needing my approval, about time you started being confident in what you say dude, you've messed with your own device, you should know which was better for you in your opinion, your opinion matters since you did do it and you know the benefits personally.
Ok, I can give S-OFF another try.. but last time I tried and I was in this rom: "BulletProof 2.5" , it did not work.... so from experience of you guys, what rom have people been the most sucessful getting S-OFF??
You won't need s-off if you using the method I gave you

ok, ill think about the 2 options.. with S-OFF and with S-ON.
but as far as reverting to stock to then flash ICS, no instruction says I need to have my bootloader back locked... I do, right?

Relocked is the same and when attempting s-off, stock rooted rom is a better call, it saves you the hassle that custom roms may cause.
I mean the MD5 sums fail on both PHP8img w/e name... and the nand backup to restore to original ginger garbage.. so I think it's because I have to relock my bootloader by doing OEM_lock or whatever the command is.
do I have to lock bootloader to go back to stock?
and also.. do I need to flash the original kernel?
come on.. someone answer me please... I will make a REALLY good tutorial noob proof for everyone else when I finish doing this.

I was also having problems with my downloads so I downloaded thru my phone. I also found that I had better luck downloading straight from football's account on file factory. You can find his account on stock roms collection page 5 snargaflab post where it says "here"
Hope this helps, as far as locking bootloader when s on I think you do have to lock bootloader. If nobody is helping I suggest you try it out.

Lock your bootloader via the fastboot oem lock command or use hasoon's tool to do it,
download this file here: http://d-h.st/3VD
Place that on your sd card and rename it PH85IMG do not place it in any folders, etc.
Reboot into hboot via the volume down/power button method, when your hboot finds the file, hit volume up to update, phone will reboot on it's own. You're on ICS.
Unlock your bootloader, install 4ext recovery via hasoon's tool and hit the Perm root ICS/GB option, follow all on screen instructions.
All done, official ICS and you're now rooted as well.
Hey all, I was looking to find a guide about how to root now that we have ics. I was rooted but unrooted to get the OTA. I have s on and a relocked bootloader. I assume I just unlock the bootloader again and I flash some sort of recovery then install superuser, but I would like to see a guide to make sure I am doing things right. Thanks!

Don't be shocked if you end up with a locked device.
If you care about an unlocked bootloader, you may want to pass on it.

It means Verizon made a patch so you can't use the unlock bootloader method from the last software version.
I wonder if this was to patch that exploit for the exynos processor reported a few weeks back. The side effect of course is a relocked bootloader. That's why I didn't understand why everyone was bringing so much attention to it. Let's pray that Adam can unlock this new bootloader.
The OTA is a side effect of a relocked bootloader, not the fix itself. The original exploit didn't use the Exynos exploit, so I doubt it matters, UNLESS the new bootloader in the OTA has closed the original unlock method.
The exploit needed to be patched. Wayyy too easy for malware to exploit it and screw you.

What if we use insurance to replace our phones and we get one with this locked bootloader? Or what about people buying new phones? My wife's iPhone 4 was actually more valuable with iOS 5 than iOS 6. The iSheep still do not have a jailbreak for iOS 6.

Thanks for this information. I already learned the hard way on my Transformer Infinity to never update before unlocking. This will give me a reason to unlock my Note 2, root it, and install CleanROM, which is also what I have on my Infinity.

Reverting back to stock is so easy....all you need to do is odin flashing stock tar file....which will relock and unroot your phone with working OTA update. And I was referred to current rooted rom users. I don't think they need to be re-unlocked nor re-rooted. Flashing another updated rom and kernel will pretty much take care of everything. Besides, adrenalyne already has bootloader safe OTA update working......so there is no point of worrying. However, if someone is planning to buy a new phone and needs his or her phone updated, then yes.

Fixes the exynos exploit, locks the bootloader, and updates the radio. Possibly some other minor patches looking at the patch file sizes.
Stay away from the ota unless you use the safe one I created in another thread. Ignore AdamOutler's comment in this thread as it turned out to be wrong and people got locked up in the process.

Depends on the kernel. I couldn't tell you with third party kernels, but the latest stock one from the ota closes the exploit and is safe to flash.

If you are unrooted and s-on right now, you may never be able to root.
Someone will have to spend time finding an exploit. How many devs are working on the TB now?
But if you have S-off still, then you could possibly install an alternate recovery, like clockwork, then install su from inside cwm and obtain root that way.

Thanks. For some reason when I typed that I was thinking all the S-OFF boot loaders out there were all "unlocked" which is why I didn't call that out, that is not the case is it?
I had applied the unlocked, s-off, "permanent" hboot back before revolutionary, so my memory is fuzzy on this stuff.

Since the bootloader is locked it isn't possible. We don't have an exploit for it and the htc dev method doesn't work either. Until an exploit is found any new bolt owners are sol. It is unlikely an exploit will be found since there aren't any devs interested in finding an exploit.

Definitely avoid doing this. You will brick your phone.
There are a number of people exploring options at this point. If one of them is successful, a guide will be posted soon after.

It's not something that should really be pasted willy nilly across the web.
There are people there to help if you get stuck.
Translating back and forth from there to here isn't really any easier then you signing up.
If you wanna just wait, it will be incorporated into the All In One Tool fairly soon.
