A couple of questions for you guys that don't mind, what exactly is OTG USB support? Also, I had a problem the last time I flashed a Rom where I wiped data and it deleted everything off my internal memory. What are you guys' steps for flashing roms cause I'm not sure what I hit wrong. I'm sure it was just an accidental button I pressed somewhere.

Well I had a good experience this time around. I suppose in under Mounts I had accidentally selected format media card before.

First of all, does MTP not work for you? Secondly, Easy UMS should work as well -- what is the error you are getting?
No, it doesn't work at all... when I try to transfer a folder with the saves in it to either the internal or external sd card it says 'cannot copy "..." the device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected. And when I tried to use easy ums it's would do one of two things, either it would kinda work (I could browse my ext sd card but it only showed the folders, not the files in them) or it would say something like 'cannot detect sd card. Maybe busy box isn't installed.?' I know for a fact that busy box is installed I actually did that earlier today after rooting my S3 of course.. lol what should I do? Maybe I'm using the easy ums in an incorrect way?

theres an app in the themes and app sections..use it to mount your s3 in mass storage mode

At least you didn't flash a custom Rom. That would have really been a horrible way to find out your in the wrong forum

Sorry chaps what is this app called?
I`m also having issues with my GT-I9300. I have tried SGS# easy UMS, but get message about "Device not rooted" I`m not familiar with rooting. Please can someone suggest how I go about doing this. I need to sync certain apps using mass USB.
I migrated to Android from windows mobile & not familiar with these syncing terms. I have managed to sync with Kies & Companion link software, but unable to sync with E Wallet.
Thanks
Hello everyone, this is not utterly important but I was wondering if anyone else have this bug, let me explain :
It's random but happens almost everytime. When i plug or unplug the phone for battery charging, the clock screen pops up (not the one for alarm settings, the other one which is pretty much like the unlock screen). From that precise moment, loud speaker activates automatically for any call I make or receive... rebooting the phone fixes it so it's no big deal... yet i'm curious, can anyone confirm or is it just me ?
Happens with any Cm9 or Cm10 I think, well... in my case at least. Thought it could be related to the broken offline charging thing in Cm9 and later versions but i dunno.

Well...Doesnt haappened with me evr.....tried Oxygen Ics,Cm9 by hephappy .....
Whats ur kernel?Hav u done any kernel update?
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
Strange issue.. never occurred to me with any gb or ics rom!!
Must be hardware related then. Tried most of the roms and kernels I found on this forum since lupohirp's first ics build. Thanks anyway, not a big issue.

Use a proper stable recovery.. wipe everything except sdcard. Everything. Then try flashing a new rom.
Same thing with Cwm and Amonra. Now using Twr and no changes. Not sure if I repartitioned my sd since the first time I encountered this issue but I don't think it could be related to this. Of course I wipe cache, dalvik and system partition everytime I flash a new rom and I wipe data as well most of the time. Thanks anyway
Never to me. I think the blame is you kernel!
cm-9.1.4-GENETICS
Try this rom cm-9.1.4-GENETICS-HEPHAPPY-p500

This is the best CM9 ROM ever.

Can be the reason. Remove partitions.. format your complete sdcard in fat32.
Even if you dont have partitions.. do it.
Were you using any app2sd type script??
In some devices i have seen that while charging...the phone becomes unstable.....try some another charger....see it happens while usb charging....

Your going to have bugs, that's just the way things are...I can't even think of a single piece of technology in existence without some sort of bug...I'm sorry if this isn't an answer to your problems as generally every comment I've made on xda has always been for a solution.

Lost 2,000+ pics when I rooted because the idiot who made the video didn't mention that your internal sd card gets wiped. Don't want it happening every time I flash a new rom.
(this is the first phone that I have had that doesn't have an external sd card.)

Name calling is useless. You shouldn't hold someone responsible for what happens when YOU tamper with YOUR device.
That being said, no. A factory reset does not wipe internal storage

I agree but just so fkn frustrated that I lost 2000+ pics. In the video he even mentioned "oh yeah, I should have mentioned that it wipes everything" after it happened. Well then, edit your video and mention it in the beginning mofo!!

Or you could of read one of the 1000 disclaimers that HTC gives you during the process saying that it will wipe your phone.

By reading the instructions and watching the videos FIRST, you probably would have caught that. Just sayin.

Even if you didn't know, doesn't everyone around these forums backup anything and everything? Lol

I'm assuming that now at least, you backup your photo's?
I wouldn't dream of doing anything to my phone that could brick it if messed up, with my only copy of important stuff on it.
That's just an accident waiting to happen.
To everyone above:
I've been rooting and flashing roms since 2008. I'm fully aware of what happens. This was just my first phone without an SD Card do that's why u was caught off guard. I wasn't aware that it even wipes the internal memory.
That's why the person who makes a GUIDE should mention it. This was probably the worst "guide" every made. I've even made guides before and mention everything important.

God, I wish there was a way to downvote your post. Its your phone, you read non of the disclaimers that HTC gave you and didn't even watch the guide through before you did it. You blindly went through a process which tells you multiple times that it will wipe your data, and you didn't back it up.
The guy who made the video owes you nothing, he didn't have to make it and you didn't have to follow it.
Loosing your pictures is your fault, no one else's.

I know exactly the video guide you're talking about. I remember thinking that he should have put a warning at the beginning too, but luckily I didn't lose anything important.
Sorry, I'm afraid your pictures are gone forever unless you can get lucky with some "un-deleting" software.

Hey guys new to the note 2 forum. I recently rooted and unlocked my device thanks ti CASUAL and have been looking into ways of clearing bloatware.. I have cleared quite a bit thru titanium BU but when I go into storage under settings its saying miscellaneous files 10.11gb.. when I click on it.. it on shows 5.77gb.. anybody know the issue? Is that just software on my phone that it needs.. an excess of 5gb or so..

Look at my thread "How much free storage should I have?"
I goofed and put my backups on sd0card instead of extsdcard.
You too?
Nice! I just had them bu in the internal instead of external so I simply just moved them..? does the internal sd card get wiped when you wipe everything to go to new ROM bc if thats the case all twrp files should be on the external.. right?
EDIT: nevermind figured everything out thank you for help.. I flashed parandroid 3+ but wasnt really a fan I just the phone 2 weeks ago and I am kinda digging the touchwiz interface... and lightsaber sounds I just put on the phone for the s pen:thumbup::thumbup:

Just curious here, I'm usually am organized person but I've been testing a lot of ROMs on my note lately and its gotten away from me.
My question--The next time I wipe to install a new ROM can I format my internal memory or could that possibly brick me? I tend to be extra cautious ever since my skyrocket's internal memory died for no good reason. (Other than in the middle of a flash) I guess I could take the hour or two to clean it by deleting what I don't need but I'd much rather format it. Plus then I can start with a clean slate. Thanks!

Okay, I wasn't sure if there were any important folders hidden deep on there that shouldn't be deleted for stability reasons. Thanks a bunch!
