I have the same thing, Seems my phone downloaded it already and wants me to install... notification pops up over and over and over. I would allow it to install if the update was solid.
Will I need root access to stop this?
It's a good update, I would do it. Just turn off GPS that eats your battery with the new update..

I'd love to know too.

I rooted and installed cwm on V20d and it is constantly trying to get me to update to V20F. I don't want it, but I don't know how to stop it. is it an app I can disable with Titanium Backup? Anyone?
Thanks!

Hi dear atrix users. Can someone help me with turning off the updater. The case is followig:
I've tried to make system update in phone setting, and i had notofication that "download will start when connected to a wifi", i have a wifi issue that's common for unlocked phones and it does not work. Now i want to discard updating process and take off that notification on the top. I've already updated my system through official "Motorola software update program" using my laptop connected to atrix. I've "force closed" and "cleared data" for "Updater" in application manager, and the notification disapears and after some time pops up again. Does somebody know how to swich it off? Thanks in advance.
(Maybe) check /cache for anything that would have to do with the update...?

Rename it with Root Explorer.
Okay this has been annoying me for ages. Since the premium suite update I've had an NFC toggle in my notification bar but the picture is always missing and whenever I press it I just get System UI force closed. Any fix for this? I'm on XXELLA.

I have the same problem on stable CM 9.1
I was having the same issue on stock LLA. Got an OTA update to MB1 today, which seems to have sorted it.
Edit: Spoke too soon. After a few reboots, the issue is still present.

My OneX is rooted and working just fine. I'm getting the pop-up notifications from AT&T about updating. This last time I postponed it, it said (basically) I'll be forced to update in 8 hours.
is there any way to disable this?
Bump:: Anyone? I'm running out of time

Nope from what I understand it's just like ME7... once you're on it there's no turning back. If I were you I'd Odin the stock MI1 image and do a factory reset to see if that helps.
Do a factory reset first then try odin. Just what I would do. Just seems a bit safer that way.
for me it's actually opposite.
on ME7 contacts app used to just lock up and force close with the update nothing. ZIP works just fine.
I get an error at each boot of vzwavservice stopped working. I don't know if this is important or not but it is annoying.
I am going to try to upload a cap of it.
I can't figure out how to load the SC of it from mobile.
You are not getting much response because pretty much everyone had that problem months ago and discussed it to death back then. I think it turned out to be a conflict between that bit of useless bloatware, McAfee Antivirus maybe it was - renamed by Verizon, and a Google Services update?
Anyway, root your G3 and freeze or uninstall that app.

Once you're rooted, you can simply freeze that vzwavsservice app and problem solved. Won't hurt a thing.
The problem also disappears if you take the Verizon OTA update.
