Z4root method doesn't work on recent 2.1 updates. Use the Flash Tool 0.2.9.1
Or Superoneclick method (stickied)

I have an ATT X10, and i can no longer root it...after updating via Sues Anyway...2.1 update 1, bb 54, build 435. I have installed ADB and i get the error, " ADB didn't ACK, starting on port 5037*. Checked all drivers, everything is fine...even uninstalled ADB and tried reinstalling still the same...superoneclick, i get the same error..FAILED By the way debugging is enabled, unknown sources also! X10 drivers installed and gordons gate for flashtool. I've tried it all, and i cant figure it out! I don't want to go to the extent of clean installing windows 7 again..hope not. Can it be rooted manually like the first root was ha?!?! Please help and thank you much!
Flashtool also says searching adb device please plug in etc...it is...same thing again. Only option i have there is to flash, all other options are greyed out! I don't get it!
Did you lose all and any kind of access through ADB, you can't do anything through a USB cable?
Did you try to have an ADB access from other PCs and failed, too?

Just download the newest version of Unlockroot. Then plug your phone in to your USB port without debugging mode on. Wait for the phone to be recognised and turn on file sharing on the phone. Open unlockroot. Then finnaly turn on USB debugging mode on the phone (it will let you at this point. Click on root in unlockroot. (make sure you have internet connection on pc). Wait a minute or two, unlock root will ask you if you want to intall some software on the phone, answer "no", when it asks you to reboot the phone click "yes". Your phone will shut off but not reboot. Just unplug it from the USB, and manually turn it on. You are rooted. Have it on my Hisense U2 working like a charm. Now just need a digital signature to install updates from SD card. Any help?

Ok so I have a problem and was hoping this would be a good place to solve my issue. Ok so after I rooted my Nexus 5, I decided to download the 4.4.2 update manually. But somehow I lost my root access, though I'm still rooted if that makes sense. I want to reroot my phone again but nothing happens when I plug my phone to my computer via USB. Then I discovered USB debugging won't turn off, and every time I try turning off developers options or USB debugging, my phone reboots itself. Please Help .
it all started when i tried to install custom navbar using adb ,it worked fine and after rebooting , the phone froze up, and it won't let me press anything past the home screen.
i tried reusing adb but the phone is not recognized , as usb debugging is turned off
a solution could be a way to turn on usb debugging .
please help :crying: :crying:
