[Q] noob question on flashing - AT&T HTC One (M7)

hi all -
So i'm loving this phone so far.. had it for about 3 weeks now testing out features and playing around with it. I'm currently unlocked, rooted, and have TWRP recovery installed running on STOCK rom. I haven't flashed anything yet (no mods or anything).
I've already snapped a good number of photos and taken some videos that I obviously do not want to lose if I flash a new ROM. This is my first phone that does not have a removable sd card, so I'm a little confused when I wipe my phone before installing a new ROM, does it retain all my data (photos, videos, music, etc) ? Is there something special I need to do or *not* do when flashing to make sure I dont lose any of my data?
sorry for the totally noob question

Your photos and media won't be deleted unless you delete them. In recovery choose factory reset or wipe /data and /system. Data/media gets left alone.

Updating to official GB and retaining data?

Kind of new to the technical part of android here.
I have an Atrix running 4.1.8.3 with the following:
Rooted
Enabled Sideloading
SD Speed Hack
I have no other major system mods (no webtop mod, prom's, etc).
Here's my problem:
I don't want to lose my data/brick my phone.
How can I make a complete backup of every last thing on my phone? (Camera images, messages, ringtones, etc).
I have Titanium Backup installed that backs up apps, but is there a way to make sort of a "recovery image" or a mirror backup of my entire phone that I can flash?
Am I better off unlocking the BL first, and then flashing the sbf? (I know that this involves a factory reset in the process).
Or should I just use the OTA? My root, sideloading, and sd hack shouldn't interfere with the update, right?
Can I use the preinstall method to root my phone for GB, even though I'm rooted already? (Used gladroot)
I don't intend to jump into the custom ROM wagon just as yet, mainly because my job leaves me with no extra time to sit down and do it, restore my data, etc.
Today, I'm off though
Sorry for my noobishness, atleast I didn't post this in the development section
Thanks!

complete format

hi,
first off, apologies is this has already been discussed..
i have a sgs2 and have rooted it and installed miui, and then recently installed cyanogen 7.
im having signal problems and my data signal is also poor.
i also find my memory is cluttered with old app data.
i would like to completely remove all data off my phone and install a clean and reliable rom (any recommendations of the best one?). i would also like to update my kernel and firmware to the most reliable one.
can you please advise me on how to do so.
once again apologies if this is already been covered.
thanks
azam
Always use data wipe/factory reset option in CWR.
iv decided i want to go back to stock rom. what is the correct proccess?
Yeah just do data/reset or if u unsure ucan use
Moun then format data cache n system
check the sgs2 forums as there are some guides available and even some odin one-click restores which accomplish the task.
back up any data to pc/external sd and when you do a factory data reset in the rom chose format usb storage as that will clean off any other remnants you may be seeing.

[Recovery] Suggestions

So today, I unlocked my prime, so far I have tried 3 differents recoveries and all problem, so I've come to ask is there a functionnal recovery for the prime?
I have tried the ones from rom manager normal/touch and both give me error backup when I try to backup my stock rooted rom. (24gb free on sdcard)
Then, I tried the TeamWin one, this one give me error when I try to wipe data, but factory reset is functionnal although this last functionnality is crappy for me because it -not only- remove user data but it removes games/software extra data like 5gb of downloads, music, movies, pictures taken (dcim) that are not in data/medias...
Is there a way to wipe clean when I install a new rom without losing those extra data? (please don't tell me make backup by copy android/data on microsd)
I will backup my device tonight with nvflash because when I see all the brick's topics that really creep me out. What are the most common causes of bricking after unlocking device and succefully install any recovery?
Thanks.

Selling a rooted Atrix. What to remove, what to keep on it?

Hello! My Atrix 4g is rooted and has the the webtop mod. If I sell this, what do I need to erase to keep my own personal data off it, but allow the phone to still be rooted, and still have the webtop mod if possible?

depending on your ROM, most of the time, just rebooting into recovery and doing a data/factory reset will reset every data (so your privacy is absolute inside the ROM) !
Then, if (depending on your ROM) it has erased some of the mod content, just reflash it, and reboot, but dont log in/enter any personnal information !
You also want to make a backup of your internal sd card (not the micro SD) and then, go to recovery>mounts & storage>format internal storage
That's the conclusion if you want to sell it rooted & unlocked
I received dozens of these and if you dont delete system and data then your stuff will remain. Trust me I have seen enough "private" pictures to make Stephen King blush. Wype and factory reset does nothing to your pictures and folders made by instslled apps. -w command misses all this to. You have to delete all then reinstall your rom.

Phone is bootlooping after attempted ROM update

I was running AOKP 4.3 and downloaded the latest 10/30 update. I flashed in CWM recovery and everything took as normal. I wiped cache and dalvik and then rebooted. Apps updated as normal and lockscreen presented. I unlocked and immediately received two force closes (timely & swype) if I click them or not, if I unlock or not, the phone will crash and reboot every 6 or so seconds. Luckily, if I'm quick, I can reboot into recovery. I am in CWM but my external SD card won't mount so I can't load anything onto it and attempt a new flash and the only rom file on my internal SD is the one that got me in trouble here. I've gone back into recovery and attempted to wipe data/factory reset/etc. and nothing changes. Internal storage won't mount when I'm connected to my computer with a cable.
I don't mind losing everything and starting from scratch. I've tried to seek out my own info but there is SOO many threads and videos and I don't know where to start. Can someone please tell me the most efficient way to get back to a clean start? I was on JellyBeans from 1-22 and looking back that was probably more my speed. I shouldn't have tried to switch to 4.3 at all. I was able to run AOKP for about two months without issue but I seem to be out of my element here.
Can anyone smarter than me please take pity on me here? Sorry to waste your time as well.
Try just wiping the system, reflash rom and gapps. I think this keeps your apps in tact, if just not just use tb and restore. Otherwise full wipe sounds necessary, but not horrible. Just restore everything with tb
