Is anyone thinking about or already use cydia and winterboard for android?
Here's the link that describes what it is.

That looks sick

Has anyone tried using it? I've tried installing with no success
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium HD app
I installed Cydia and then Winterboard, but Winterboard says cydia needs to be installed first.
S-off has to be achieved before we can use substrate. I was talking to saurik in IRC and we discussed it. Can't wait for substrate to take off. It's great on my iphone. The possibilities are endless with it.
He said he would need to speak to someone who knows more about it. But as far as he understands it he THINKS we need S-off for it to work properly.

Has anyone tried this on a non-sense rom such as CM10 or AOKP?

I have with the CM10 Nightly and it works perfectly. Install cydia, then install winter board and restart the launcher and it should work fine.

I'm glad Jay Freeman is working with Android also. I praised him when I was a jailbreaking iPhone user.

He has been awesome with the iPhone. I believe Cydia for Android and Winterboard don't have many themes because most people aren't aware of there being such a thing.

Hm, is Saurik still developing something for Android. I know xposed has a much better calling, but he can improve winterboard and so on..

Is there any method to dual boot android and wp7?? The animations are so cool and stuff in wp7. Is there any method known? I know in HTC hd2 it's possible. Other than that, in gs3 ??

No and it won't I guess.
At hd2 it has been possible, because it is a wp and the devs could port android, because it is open source.
The other way round is much harder.
And sry but for my opinion wp7 is crap compared to android, even when you compare it to good old gb and I guess most people here share my opinion (no offence in any way, I only want to point out that I don't think any developer is working or will work on it).
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
I never said wp7 is better. I'm quite intrigued by wp8. I just thought if there are ports for wp7 then, we can expect wp8also right? That's all. I know that android is the best now..

I prefer android, best is something depending on opinions and use.
Even when there would be a wp7 port, wp8 is completely different and would need the whole thing ported from scratch.
And like already said, because wp is closed source it will be really hard to get it to work, I would recommend to not expect a working port for the gs3.

With ubuntu released, is it possible to take it from the nexus devices over to here?

I really want to test it I kinda want it as a daily driver looks awesome plus ubuntu is amazing.

Once the cdma issue is fixed it should be rather easy porting since it uses cm10.1 as a base...

I must say, having tested it first hand that it is very ... interesting. I do like the OS itself, it's fluid and the best part is the pulldown settings (view video here if you don't know what I'm talking about) makes things much faster.
All that being said, it's clearly a very early build. There are a lot of bugs and it's clearly targeted towards developers and geeks like us. It is not ready for use as a daily driver (unless you like that sort of adventure). Also the lacks of apps at the moment really hurts it. I can't live without my basic apps (titanium backup and tasker).

Ubuntu for pcs is aimed more towards your average Joe. The real geeky Linux is something like arch or slackware lol

Yes it is as it takes cm as a base however they currently do not support cdma function as of right now but that will change. So the answer is yes it can be ported but u will not have any cellphone usuage which is y no-one is porting it here yet. I think Leo might be the only one but Idk if he has started yet or if he will port it hopefully he does since I wana try it

I really hope that we can get ubuntu working, it is way better than android for sure
Ubuntu phone ROMs are available for Nexus devices, and from what little I've read, if you can install CM10 you can install Ubuntu. I know we have some CM10 projects, but is anyone interested in trying to get Ubuntu phone to run on a Player?

It is definitely possible however it hasn't been fully released yet, it would be quite difficult to port it at this stage.

Just to give you guys a heads up.
The Ubuntu touch Dev preview is just a preview. Hardly anything works and it's just not made to be used right now. So I don't think the D's devs would waste their time on this.

Does anyone know a ROM or way to get IOS 7 on my Fascinate? Ive tried launchers but they are always laggy. Im currently running Hellybean 4.2 and using clockwork mod as my recovery. Thanks
What possesses you to even want iOS 7?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk 4
I don't believe this is possible
There are plenty of amazing roms for the fascinate, hellybean being one of the best. I don't know why you would want to downgrade to ios7 even if it was possible?
I currently want to try out something new, that's all...
Sent from my SCH-I500 using xda app-developers app
If you want IOS, you're just going to have to pickup an iphone. The architecture is different and there is no dev team that I'm aware of that will put in the time and effort required to make this happen. I remember a while back someone working on iOS 5 for android but they quit due to the amount of work and resources required
IOS 7 looks like android anyway

I'm saying there's no point to want iOS 7 if you have android because it looks like a android developer got fired and hired by apple and just made android for apple. I HATE apple. I just wonder how iPhone users feel to own a phone that copies the **** out if android. Apple sues everyone for likeness and bs and then they flat out copy the UI android for the most part

I think there is an obscure way to put ios on an android only because I've seen my brother put ios on his droid 2 a few years ago as well as put ios on his laptop but that wasn't ios 7 and like everyone already said wtf would you want to put that crap on there. Even if I'm right and you do find a way to put ios on your phone there will prolly be a lot of bugs and missing services like a lot of other roms. Best bet is to just pick up an iphone

Just some a little spoiler for those wondering if we will have sense6 ports on the DNA eventually
no, no one is releasing it right away as apparently HTC will go after anyone releasing m8 based roms
but it is a relatively easy port (well to boot and get basic functions) so its still 4.4.2; anywhere heres some screens (below)
Thanks for the peepshow!

im loving that they are bring back the green accents and whatnot. i was not a fan of the jellybean blue
yay for green!
Actually sense 5 looks better IMO, Ive used Tranquil Roms so long I cant take anything else lol.
How can htc go after anyone releasing m8 based roms. Android is open source so anyone can use it right? I understand they don't want anyone putting it out before the m8 drops but can they really go after you if you out a rom out based on the m8 after it has been released?

While Android is open source Sense is not, you release proprietary software before they give the OK and it spells trouble.
Just like when people get their hands on either Video games/consoles before the official release, they get banned or barred from playing online.

While I'd love to post mine early too, there is a bigger reason for all of this regarding Sense 6.0 in particular.
For more info on the subject and as to why this is considered stolen intellectual property, see this link for details.
I love that they added back a few small things and a few additional things as well.
There is now a native no lockscreen option, there are theme options, font type options, and I probably shouldn't spoil the rest.
None of them are ground breaking changes, but mostly well received in my opinion so far.
Anyway, read that link about the ordeal that transpired and you may better understand the legal precedence involved.
At this point the only thing thrilling about a new sense version release is when it's coupled with tweaks in a viper Rom. Sense still to this day, although I love many things about it, is the slowest clunkiest smartphone software I have used. Playing around with AOSP for a couple minutes and you realize just how much HTC has slowed down Android. I just wish it were faster no lagging transitions and such.
I think TouchWiz is the worst skin. That is really slow and ugly imo.

other sense6 roms will be posted this week im sure
since the version of the leak i got had been slightly modified (deodexed) before i got it, i dont want to get in any kind of stupid drama and bickering over who cant use whose stuff (because everyone has to get their epeen on being first out with a rom that takes all of 5 minutes to port) so i wont release the version ive been running personally....but im sure you ll see 3 or 4 other roms from other devs so it will all be good
im going to wait until a stock system pull of the m8 is available before doing anything else....and you will eventually see a viperDNA sense6 version....til then ill continue working on sense5.5 viperdna :good:

I see you said it took a whole 5 minutes to port... For some reason I can't get mine to port... I've tried four times now and it fails on setting permissions. I believe I've done everything I'm supposed to. Any advice?
