[Q] Flash without boot? - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

My phone will either not boot at all (get stuck at the Tmobile 4G) icon or get to the Android start up screen and get a bunch of force closes and won't let me do anything. Can I flash a factory KDZ on the phone to see if that works? I was unsure because in the instructions, you have to turn on Debugging, but obviously I can't do that.
It was messing up and I've tried wiping data, dalvik cache, nothing seems to work. And it won't let me restore a backup on my SDcard, saying it cannot open the directory. any help would be appreciated!

You have to turn on debugging for rooting process you have to use lelus offline flashing method...

Did you try starting with vol down + home and power to initiate a factory restore?

Turn off your phone, hold down the volume up button and plug it into the computer then flash the kdz in emergency mode. Good luck

You can try doing a hard reset following these procedures:
1- With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and DOWN buttons, and then briefly press the POWER button.
2- Wait for the screen to show the instructions on how to do the factory reset, and then release the VOLUME UP and DOWN buttons.
3- Follow the instructions onscreen to factory reset your phone.
It should solve your problem, if not try using the Windows Phone support tool:

Tks for the reply. I tried the hard reset but then it went straight to enter usb mode funny thing is that this ph has never been connected to pc or any attempt to upgrade...mind boggles

[Q] Stuck and unresponsive in recovery mode

I tried flashing cm7 to my new sgs2, and my phone is now stuck in recovery mode. I've tried removing the battery, etc, but it always boots into recovery. Even here whenever i try choosing an option from the menu all i get is the cwm logo (hat with the circle). I've been surfing the net for about 3 hours now, and haven't found a working solution. please help!!!
Are you selecting with the home button or the power button?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
I tried both- power button does not respond, and home button just switches between menu and cwm logo
Try getting it into download mode and reflash stock.
Sometimes flashes go wrong. But since cyanogenmod doesn't change bootloaders it's very very unlikely the phone is ruined.
Or if you ran a backup before flashing cyanogenmod, restore that.

i managed to get the phone into download mode, but odin wont recognize it. is there another way to reflash stock or restore my backup?
Try reflashing cyanogenmod again (should still be on your phone) . Make sure to wipe everything, dalvik cache, anything like that.

It won't let me choose anything from the recovery menu- any option I try to select just gives me the hat and circle logo...
Very weird. See if you can get adb to recognize the phone.

Fixed- used heimdall to flash back to stock... Thanks for the help!
Kudos to heimdall! Glad you got it going.

Out of curiosity, did you use rom manager to install cwm?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
Just as someone else point out, when you are in cwm and hit the power button it will usually give you the circle/ hat. So DON'T HIT the power button. Use the volume keys to scroll through all the cwm folders on the screen and then hit the home button to click on the highlighted folder.
Also for the 1. FIRST TIME whenever you install CM7 you have to flash it once, let it reboot, it may nit work all the way through boot. 2. Go back to cwm and again flash CM7 a second time. This time it will complete for sure and fully boot up.

(urgent)Phone turns off after booting up(tried to update)

can you help me out my phone keeps turning off after trying to update by accent I'm rooted so what do i do to stop this
You can try the Android recovery, by turning your phone on with the down volume button...
when fastboot is show, press the down volume till Android recovery, then press up volume...
Now perform a clean data factory...
Oh, I forgot to say that you will loose everything installed on your phone...
if you have a custom recovery installed you may also be able to mount your phone via usb while in recovery and backup some things before wiping...

Booted Without A Rom.....Help!

I accidently booted my phone without loading a ROM onto it and now it won't even start. It doesn't even vibrate. HELP!!
Try holding volume up + volume down + power for a few seconds. If the phone vibrates, let go of the power button. You should have booted into recovery.
nope nothing
Have you tried restoring to stock using odin?

How do I put it back to stock if the phone doesn't turn on?
Can you put it into any boot/flash mode when connecting it to your computer?
If so, for a quick fix I would flash the device using Odin or Flashtool and load a Rom that way.
Hope this helped if so click that Thanks button

You gotta get into download mode somehow either with computer and Odin or through different button combination on device try Heimdall as well might be able to use that but if you can't get into bootloader or recovery then it's a wrap

How exactly do I flash/boot via Odin?
There is no change when I plug in my phone into my computer
Yes, do as UncleLester has said. Try hold volume down + power for 10+ seconds. If you're able to go into download mode, you can restore to stock. If the phone doesn't turn on at all, I'm not sure what else you can do...
yeah, I held down the volume up + down + power for almost a minute. Nothing :/
I'm with jpark623 with that if none of the above work I'm afraid your a bit stuck.
What device is it by the way? And how did you get into this mess?
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
Download mode is accessible by volume down + power. Recovery mode is volume down + volume up + power. Don't press volume up for download mode.
My phone is not even recognized in the ID:COM Section
Were you able to access download mode? If so, then you need to install drivers. If not, you NEED to be in download mode.

There is a thread with a link to a Flashtool download or do what I done and Google Odin and download that.
Odin and Flashtool are programs that make flashing a little easier, the device needs to be put in a fastboot/flash/recovery mode (depending on device it's usually a combo of volume up + volume down or sometimes including the home button) when it's in it, Odin or Flashtool will detect it thats when you can select your chosen Rom.
I use Odin more than Flashtool just because I came across it first and it's never let me down however I haven't used it in a while, when I downloaded it though it did have a little 'how to' guide so everything you need to know will be im there.
Hope this helped if so click that 'Thanks' button

I was trying out different custom roms that I had downloaded. I had just finished one and decided to change it. After booting it into recovery mode, I had wiped the cache and reset it back to factory settings. I tried to load a roam named "JZO54K.N7000XXLS7". It errored and stopped trying to install. Afterwards I ended up wiping it again and resetting the cache to make sure there were no remnants. Following this, I rebooted the phone and now i'm in this position

From just reading that I think your device has had it, if your getting no response from those combos them I doubt the computer will read it as it wont have power.
Sorry chum bad times

It seems that i'm not even able to even get into recovery or download mode as it is a blank screen, no matter how long I hold down the buttons for.
Sounds like you somehow hard bricked your phone... Not sure how you can recover your phone without professional help. Sorry I couldn't help.
I had only just got this phone a day ago :/

[Q] Bootloader Encrypting Error | L9 P760

Yesterday I rooted my LG Optimus L9 using LGpwn tool, after that it worked just fine.
This morning I tried to install ClockworkMod Recovery. Using this post. It explains how to download and install CWM Recovery from app that you downloaded in form of APK.
This method did not work 100%, but I was able to reboot normally, so in post it said that sometimes it does not work and you need to download and use Busybox installer Link to busyboxx.
After this I managed to boot in too CWM using app from mentioned thread.
Then problem occurred. After I saw CWM was working I selected reboot device option.
Except now when it started to boot it stops right after Second LG logo (First is static one second one is animated).
I get white screen with "Encrypting" on top and gray line. And one Reset Phone button. IMG they are Dropbox links.
This is followed with Error : Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped. IMG
I am able to boot in too CWM and I have tried flashing something like Cyanogenmod but I get error Status 7. Tried removing line that checks model, no use.
Tried clearing every cache and fixing permissions, nothing. Formatted everything still no use.
Dear XDA community That you in advance.
I fixed my phone by going into SW upgrade mode, and using the Upgrade Recovery function of the LG Software Update tool or whatever. Be sure you don't have any http servers open

I got the same problem, but when I try to access to SW mode and connect to LG Software Update tool to restore my phone, the phone keep disconnect and the phone screen will turn off, so I fail to restore my phone, I have already re-install the USB driver and changed a several USB cable but the problem still, but I tried to restore my phone with SW upgrade method since last night and is was OK, can anyone help me?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Problem Solve Finally, the solution is I plug the battery back to the phone after access to LGMobile Support Tool, and after finish the restore process, the phone will restart but keep boot loop, then I perform the hard reset (Remove the Battery and insert it after few seconds. And now do the 3 button HARD RESET. First press VOLUMEDOWN and HOMEbutton. Then Press Power button only for 3 seconds and release power button but dont release VolDown and Home button and KEEP BOTH PRESSING until you see a Bigger Green Standing Android and circulating Molecular structure above it. DONE! ), then the phone begin work~~~
