Every now and then I loose all signal for a few moments and then small text appears on the screen saying preparing SIM card wasn't sure if this was an issue anyone else was having is so what steps were taken to remedy the problem thanks in advance ! Oh and I'm still running everything stock

I finally found the SIM tray tool that comes with the phone a week ago and popped the SIM card out and put it back in perhaps it wasn't in there properly or it's not a snug fit but I haven't had the problem since ! Hope this helps

Receiving double text messages

I've been searching around and haven't had any luck on this issue...since installing the first custom ROM, and every one installed since (beastmod, bulletproof, and revolution), I keep getting double text messages...anybody else? Fixes?

yes call tmobile and blame them. nothing to do with roms, is ur carrier's fault.
That's lame...I remember my G2 sending duplicate texts at first and that seemed to be fixed pretty quick...I guess I can't do anything but wait and hope

This happens pretty frequently..along with several other issues I just posted.
I have the same issue. Only happens once in awhile.

I have the factory Rom installed and get it from time to time. Don't think its a Rom issue.
I got them today...multiple times...I remember when my Motor Cliq kept doing it...I think it might be a T-Mo issue

Happened to me too. There is a thread over tmobile forum about this problem. So far, no answer from tmobile yet. I think it has to do with the phone. I never had any problem with other tmobile phones. I'm using bulletproof, but I don't think its the Rom. It's kinda annoying.

I received multiple texts on Tuesday. However, when I mentioned it, the person who sent the texts said her phone had been acting up that day, and other people she'd texted also received multiples.
I sometimes get multiple messages. I always get ATLEAST 3 of the same MMS message. VERY annoying lol
I was having this issue and what I found is that I had my contacts in multiple places (Some on sim card, some on google, some on tmobile contact backup, some on phone ect...) I deleted everything except gmail and havent had issues since. Give thata try before you waste your breath calling care.

Ouch. Yeah not sure what would be causing that, might want to have them file a help desk ticket and have the engineers look at it.

did u try hard resetting your phone..?
If not, try it out..

Xperia active randomly rebooting

Hi guys sorry to bother but there's an annoing issue going on:
_the phone: rooted xperia active, stock 2.3 with .62 fw and 2.9 rage kernel.
_the issue: when inactive, phone randomly reeboots, mostly when in pocket [never while using so far].All started a few days ago after installing a few new apps,i pulled the phone out of pocket and it was booted in temporary debugging mode.i rebooted and all the widgets went bananas.replaced them, and since every time i take it out of pocket it's askin for pincode.never rebooted overnight while chargin!also the calendar app would crash every launch.
_Solutions attempted; wipe data/cache and dalvik.uninstalled one of the above apps(it had root access, the other 2 are games…)and the semc.calendar.nothing worked…also i am experiencing major unusual batt drainage...
Any help will be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Probably one of your newly installed app goes haywire.
Is there a log where i can see what is causing the reboot?i haven't done backup for a couple weeks and wold like to solve the exact issue without full wipe and recovery backup...the apps i didnt uninstall are popular (alchemy, doors and a.b.space)could it be one of these?ran virus check, only a trojan in winamp but pretty sure it's a fake positive...

I have the same problem with my xperia mini pro sk17i on stock firmware 4.0.4 from sony. I update my phone few times with OTA and Flashtool and thats don't helps.
Now I have rom Icshybrom v2 and all works perfectly.
I also did ics update last week but reverted back to gb the next day,i don't think the rom or krnl have anything to do,phone worked fine up to 2 days ago!

Little update:uninstalled all recent apps, the problem remains...if one of the apps was faulty wouldn't the phone reboot also when using it?it ALWAYS happens when in idle!this morning i unplugged the phone from charger, put it in pocket and 2minutes later was rebooted with battery at 91%!(no usage at all!checked 4 missed calls and sms and that's it).yesterday it rebooted twice and then was fine for 12hrs,sometimes it does it 4 times in 1hr,it's completely random, just never happens when using the phone...

Maybe there is something in your pocket that makes your phone randomly rebooting...try to leave it on a desk for a few hours to test it whether it is rebooting or not
XDA Premium sent this message from owner of Sk17i
I thought it could be a hw issue, but i slammed, shook and pressed hard all over and no probs,i even added a lil piece of paper to completely block the battery, but to no avail...could it be that these days i'm in a place with no 2g signal at all?faulty sim card(it's 10yrs old)?i looked all over and there's tons of people reporting this problem but all posts end with no solution.it rebooted also when laying on the table, never on charge!as soon as i disconnect from pwr poof!this morning had 4 reboots in 30mins,yesterday only two throughout the whole day....

Sent from my ST15i using XDA
It seems like it's the most plausible thing,i'll try and report.what about it happening mostly when there's no signal?could it be something in the phone tryin to force connection?is there anyway to get a reboot log?i found an app but it's all in jap...

Ok after a few days of investigations i can now affirm that the rebooting occurs 99.9% of the time when there's no signal at all. I'll try with a new sim card and see how that goes

HTC One capacitive button problem

Hi, everyone
First time posting here so hoping I've posted in the right place
Just wondering if anyone is having the same issue as me on the non functioning back capacitive button
Sometimes it would just stop working completely and will respond after 30-60 seconds
It gets really annoying.
A temporary fix is to power the screen off and then turn it back on to get immediate response
This leads me to believe it is a software fault and if it is HTC need to know about it.
Also there's a screen protector fitted on the screen but that shouldn't be a problem
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
This would get far more replies in the HTC One Q&A and Troubleshooting forum. First check if anyone has a similar problem and a solution for it, then either ask a mod to move it there or create a new thread (all assuming that your question doesn't get answered before then of course).
Thanks

Happens to me as well...really annoying. Back button just stops working/unresponsive and then starts working again after some time. Generally the sensitivity is too low, looks like a software issue but we need to wait long before carriers approve any updates and push it to us. So hopefully some custom rom or mod will fix this.
Just re calibrate you screen and lightly tap the buttons when requested. It should fix the sensitivity. And The others are right wrong forum.

One way I found to replicate the issue, in case you need to show someone like a tmobile rep, is to go into the app drawer and press the back button repeatedly until it stops vibrating. Then open up an app, and you shouldn't be able to back out of it for a bit.

Known problem with all HTC One's. Don't bother swapping it out.
Allegedly it gets fixed in the 1.29.XXX.12 OTA. Unbranded phones in Europe and Asia are the only ones to have received this OTA so far but they all report the issue is solved after applying it.

Can confirm calibrating the screen through the HTC keyboard settings fixed mine. Trick is to barely touch the screen when calibrating the sentence. And I mean like barely brushing the screen. The Buttons work great now.

I just recalibrated mine, and the problem is still there. I also tried a demo one from best buy and the back button worked perfectly. The vibration was even more evident. I don't know what this means for me, but I'm still going to swap it out.

I don't think you can say that it's a problem with all Ones. I've tried everything suggested to try to reproduce the problem on my phone, and my buttons work fine.
I wouldn't disagree that HTC had some supply chain problems with the One. But, that some people have posted problems in forums doesn't mean it's as widespread as you may think.

I was starting to have issues again oddly after the calibration attempt. Just flashed trickdroid based on 1.29 update and the cap buttons are way more sensitive and I spammed them to death no issues. Will report back after using this for a day but it does appear the 1.29 update fixes the issue

Glad it worked ! Used it all day today and the capacitive buttons worked beautifully. So there's the answer as far as I can tell. Either flash a Rom based on the 1.29 update or wait for the OTA from T-Mobile

[Q] Help please, phone has service and is activated but won't place or recieve calls

Hello all, this is my first technical question at xda. I usually don't have problems as i never dirty flash and generally use caution when doing things.
My i605 randomly shut off today and was unresponsive. After a few battery pulls i was able to boot it back up. The phone would not call or text, even though the signal bars showed normal. Right away i flashed a new ROM after 3 full wipes and the dalvik cache wiped. The phone activated on my number right away and showed normal signal, but won't call or text. I updated the modem to the latest 5/3, still no luck. Suspecting it was my SIM card, i tried it in another device and the SIM works fine. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this or anything i should try before reverting to completely stock?
Thanks everyone!

Didn't you just quote the entire OP?
I put my wife's Sim in today. Same problem. It has started receiving text messages but will not send them or call. Data still works as well. Is there anything further I can do besides updating the radios to try and fix this issue? Obviously something is working if it can receive messages.

Have you tried dirty flashing the ROM and seeing if that fixes the issues? That's been know to fix a multitude of issues that happen when things aren't properly copied over.

What were you doing when the phone locked up on you?
Did you notice any over heating, screen problems, lag. ETC.
What kind of case if any do you have on your NOTE 2.
What were atmospheric conditions (as this may have trapped moisture inside affecting the antenna)

I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary really. No case, and i never keep my phone with me if moisture is around. (rain, sweat, etc.) My phone was on when i was driving to work, when i arrived it was off and unresponsive for a few minutes. I've only experienced maybe 2 or 3 reboots since I've had the phone, pretty much since launch.
I hadn't updated the radio/modem ever though. I don't know if this had anything to do with it.

I'm glad that everything is working for you on the replacement. If I were you I wouldn't wait to unlock though. Sammy is pushing an update, at least thru the VZW computer app, that may block our current boot loader exploit and may make it un-unlockable.

[Q] Slow wifi

Hey guys I just picked up the Z2 the other day and I'm loving it but I'm having an issue with the wifi, it's really slow. (about 2mbs when it should be about 30mb) However the issue goes every time I turn the wifi on the phone off and on again. I'm sure it's just the phone as well as I have other devices connected to the router which run at the correct speed and I've tried resetting the router as well as forgetting the network on the phone but still the problem persists, anyone else found this problem with their device and found a solution?
Ive ran into the same issue with my Z2 and S
I found that after purchasing my xperia s i ran into this issue , after a few months it fixed its self
This could be because the device needs a run in or the firmware
Id recomend waiting a tiny bit to see if updates will fix this issue
Im waiting for my actual Z2 to come so i can conform this, for now im stuck with a dev device between me and someone else
Id also recomend googling about this as many people have this issue and it seems to be a firmware issue over a device or hardware issue

I just went to settings-backup and reset-factory data reset, I'm not sure I can recommend this method any more though as I've noticed my wifi speeds have dropped again today and yesterday. I'll keep a close eye on the issue though
