Hello, I connected my device(a Nokia Lumia 920) to my computer in OSBL mode.
My computer recognized it as a Qualcomm MSM Device - does that mean my bootloader is unlocked?

How would you have an unlocked bootloader when they don't exist?

Is this normal? It states it is in a non-compatable USB mode. It says "RM-801|NOKIA_Lumia_800".
Yeah it's possible.
It appears that Nokia has 2 types of Lumia 800 recognition type/drivers so your phone will get recognized eather in disk mode (mass storage device, then its also capable atm to runs custom roms for the Lumia) or when it is recognized as Nokia DLOAD, I'm expecting it will be detected by PC Suite.
However I have not tried PC suite to get to work with my Lumia, I would stress that Zune is the program you should use to sync with your phone.
i did a restore of my lumia 710 with zune and now the phone doesn't power on. no button combination works, no vibration, nothing! however when i plug in the usb cable windows recognizes the device as Nokia USB Connectivity. i had the Qualcom bootloader but put back on nokia dload sometime earlier. NSS detects my phone but shows it in OSBL mode and no matter which mode i try to switch the phone to in NSS, nothing happens! heeeeeelp
I'm not an expert, but i'm just trying to help..
You can try checking on Linux if your device have 9 partitions, if yes, you can flash it with with the archive you created when you full-unlocked your phone, if u don't have it, you can ask for it to someone.
checked that already. those partitions are only accessible if qualcomm mode is present and i have dload. so what you suggested wont work. thanks though!
Have you tried with NSS? Check it at this link
look at my first post and the last line. haha i already tried that and it doesnt switch modes no matter what

Have you managed to fix Nokia ?
well i sent the phone into nokia and a new phone is one the way
So whenever I try to use the nss software (i'm trying to simunlock my phone) I keep on getting:
Looking for phone...Done.
IMEI:
Changing phone mode...Done.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Looking for NAND disk...Not found.
Things to check:
1. Is the phone connected?(Plug to the USB)
2. Is it in the correct mode?(Try to switch to OSBL mode)
3. Have you installed the Qcom loader ?(Use the Install button)
I have the Qcom loader, but don't know why this errors showing? I've also installed all the drives etc...
I would really appreciate the help
Bump. Anyone?
I have the same problem! I am going to try to uninstall all the drivers I download and then re-install NCS. If that doesn't work, Im gonna plan an emotional funeral for my Lumia 800

Hi,
You start the phone in Normal Mode ? Is the phone with blank screen after install
or just restarts to Normal Mode ?
BR
You have intalled all drivers zune Nokia care suite Windows phone drivers etc?
Sent from my lumia 710 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
hello there!
i have a problem with this device.
i can't flash / unlock. all the drivers are ok, NSS PRO detects phone in normal mode, read all infos, but when choose OSBL mode, screen goes black, short vibrate and nothing happens after. phone is not detected anymore, but in device manager, there is "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" with an yellow exclamation mark. i tried this on 2 pcs WIN7, 2 laptops WIN7, 1pc WINXP. no luck. i even run ubuntu into a virtual machine. it displayed "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" , i done the connection, but the drive Qualcomm MMC does not appear in device utility.
NCSD Version: 1.9
SW Version: 1750.0805.8773.12220
HW Version: 112.1402.2.3
am i elligible to flash phone?

thank you for reply. i done that before opening thread. all drivers installed, but still no luck. phone goes in OSBL mode, but can't find any driver
PS: NSS can't detect phone as "nand disk" because of drivers, i guess.
lumia
if your phone doesnt come up as a flash disc then your not able to flash a custom rom regardless if it is detected as qualcomm msm, as i have found with few lumias i have had there seems to be a version of the boot loader which was just before nokia went to dload.
rob:good:
can i flash a custom rom with "traditional" softwares, like phoenix, jaf, ncs?

be sure you are running NSS as admin
good luck
I have 3 bricked Lumia 800 here.
Two of them are in 9008 mode directly when plugged into the USB port. Both of them can be recognized by Nokia Care Suite as products in flashing mode however cannot be flashed since NCS cannot read its product code. I tried to use QFIL to flash it however there is no firehose file for MSM8225 and corresponding rawprogram0.xml.
As for the other one, it can be recognized as "Care Suite USB Connectivity", and can flashed by NCS however it shows:
ERROR: OSBL reported an error! Code: 0x30022
