I am considering getting the htc one. Before I do, I was just curious whether or not I have to flash the boot.img with abd like the one x or one x+ or can I just flash a rom from recovery and its good?

search for your device (AT&T or International model)
Had a friend who was also a flashaholic lol and he had the original HOX not the + and he said that HTC blocked "S OFF" for the device so nobody can/could flash any ROMS on the go and instead every time they wanted to change ROM or reply a Nandroid Backup they had to flash a boot.img via fastboot using a computer??
Is this the case with the HOX+ ? Can someone clarify on the issue?
Is there any other issues within the development community of HOX+ that the devs are having troubles with?
As I'm pretty keen to go for the ONE X+
No S-OFF for One X+ yet...not one that available to general public

Hi All,
Apologies if the has been asked already but I was unable to find an answer to my question.
I have an O2 HTC One X Plus (CID 02__001) which WAS on Hboot 1.30 but is now on hboot 1.35 since the OTA update 1.17.206.1 came out in the UK not very long ago
I know there was an issue being able to use a custom ROM with the older hboot. Will I now be able to flash a custom ROM to my phone (I am eyeing up Android Revolution HD 6.2)??
Or is it too soon ?
You now have the latest hboot. So you can flash any international custom rom you want

Fantastic. l assume I don't need to do the firmware thing the instructions mention just the boot image and Rom itself?

Yeah just flash the boot.img then boot into recovery and flash the rom. If i was you i'd do a nandroid of your stock rom first though.

There are so many developers and members in this site but none of them can help me in this topic or none of them can give the stock ruu 1 mothn gone i am facing problem but no body give **** to this....
my problem
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524749
that's because there is no RUU. Your hboot version too high.
If you bothered to spend the time learning rather than clogging up the forums with silly threads you would know that.

ok if there is no ruu its ok....but you can help me in this topic that why its cumming that (( this threats is for development purpose only)) i am not able to reset my phone or when i go to recovery this shows why it is like this whats the solution for this.
Your best bet is. If you still have that backup, boot into custom recovery and do a full wipe of your phone "System\data\cache\" (Not internal storage).
Then boot into fastboot and flash the boot.img from your backup.
Boot back into recovery and restore your backup. Then flash a stock recovery before you relock bootloader. Make sure you do it before you relock though.

from where will i get the stock recovery...
Lloir should of posted atleast one in one of his recovery threads. If not you'll need to extract it from an RUU. Any stock recovery meant for international devices will work for you. Ones for the AT&T device wont.

problem solved......instaling stock recovery.
Just one more way to install Twrp or Philz touch recovery to our
HTC one M8 .
Now this is only for S-OFF,Supercid and can be simply made for any of the HTC ONE M8 variants .
Was made for those that are on the fly RUU flashers that can't wait for the use of a computer.
Just like other ruu files in the "0P6BIMG.zip" form
place it on the root of your external sdcard and boot to "hboot".
Once hboot finishes verification and asks you what you want to do
Volume-up and install will finish and you can reboot.
Tested on my at&t HTC one m8 fully converted to GPE,S-OFF, Supercid
I give thanks to @dottat

You sir, are awesome. I was literally just getting ready to start a question thread asking if this very thing is possible. I remember being able to flash radios this way on my old desire hd. Haven't used it yet, but great to keep just in case.

I know you said this works on your gpe converted att device, do you know if it works on stock att firmware, and dev edition converted att devices?
The reason I'm asking is I noticed that the main version doesn't match my current main version, also the hbootpreupdate does not match either.

If your S-OFF and supercid than it will work
if replaced the recovery.img file with the lastest trwp.img, will this still work?

This is really old, almost 2 years ago. I would not recommend installing such an old version TWRP.
For Lollipop, download TWRP 2.8.7 and flash using fastboot method: https://twrp.me/devices/htconem8gsm.html
But also recommended to update to Marshmallow firmware, in which case you want to use TWRP 3.0.2.
