thanks for the help but I figured it out last night. now im having trouble getting a recovery to flash. im using the tool kit but when the command screen opens it does not do anything. am I supposed to type in something?
No. Make sure you are in boot loader, then hit volume down to make sure it says Fast boot USB and then you can flash your recovery of choice.

With the command screen just close it once and a new one should open.

Hi guys and gals. I just received a good deal on an HTC Rezound. (Love that phone btw) I got it from a guy that already had s-off and locked boot loader. Which from what I read is a good thing. I am wanting to out it to stock.
So I downloaded the stock recovery ph98img.zip (think that's what it's called) ran it, says update successful I reboot the phone and it comes up with a 7.11 mb ota to prepare for ics. I take that ota its gets to the stock recovery goes about 1/4 of the way thru the green process bar and stops and a red triangle comes up and fails I have to do a battery pull.
I am just wondering what I'm doing wrong. I don't have a PC at the moment. So I'm kind of at a loss.
I know the importance of reading before asking so believe me I did lots of reading. But if i did miss something please let me know.
I appreciate anything anyone can offer to help!!

Hey guys another question...when I flashed this RUU it went thru everything and found it.
But it would System-Fail-UZ and wouldnt boot up. tried 3 times everytime it failed on system only. And it also said tampered on top...
I was able to flash twrp recovery and got another rom installed but I was wondering why it did that?
To flash ruu you have to have the bootloader in locked state

Might want to look around the evo forum to get the RUU. The RUU is just a program u run on our computer and it restores or phone to stock. Its by HTC so it will be completely stock.

Hi all,
Am I missing something? Is there a point to have s-off now or wait until the devs do something with it first?

Personally, I only use out to flash kernels without a computer but I'm okay with using it so waiting isn't too bad

I'm at this part, but what is the appropriate filename they talking about?
Wait for the black HTC screen, then do this:
fastboot flash zip <appropriate zip filename from above>
The
psomething-dna.zip
Obviously with the correct letters and capitalization.

It's the zip that has your model id in the name. If you're on the DNA it should PL8320000-DNA.zip http://d-h.st/nOo
That's from step 3 in the original thread, btw. Also make sure you put the patcher from step 1 in your working folder, I missed that initially.
it keeps telling me that my device cannot be recognized or found. what am i doing wrong, i even checked my CID and its all 1's
I get to the spot where I get the unlock token and it gets stuck on waiting for device. How do I get past that?

Did you actually get the unlock token in a email or did the process not complete?

looks like you need to start the adb server manually for adb and fastboot to work

Recently picked up a AT&T htc one off of Craigslist. The phone winded up being blacklisted (My fault for not checking first). Can I use it on tmobile? When I put a tmobile sim in, the unlock code prompt doesn't pop up so I'm assuming someone entered the wrong code too many times. If I run the stock RUU will it reset the counter? Even if I can unlock it will it work on tmobile? I htc dev unlocked it and im on the 1.44 HBOOT so I'd like to try to not update the bootloader so I can S-off. Any help is greatly appreciated.

From what I understand is that AT&T and T-Mobile share their DB for black listed devices so it won't work if that is true. You can give it a shot though.
