Hello all.
I've got a Droid Razr Maxx, XT912, and the ear speaker doesn't work most of the time.
When I take a call, the caller can hear me, but I cannot hear them. If I switch to a bluetooth headset, a wired headset, or speaker phone, I can hear the caller fine.
Sometimes the speaker will work again when I switch from speakerphone to handset and back a couple times, but most of the time I can't do anything to make it work.
Any suggestions, ideas, tips, or tricks for troubleshooting or problem solving?
I'm running VZW's JB (looking to upgrade ROM soon), rooted, nothing special.

Hello all.
I have this annoying issue and seen this posted elsewhere. Currently I am running Airborne TB rom (it was doing this before the rom flash). When I am plugged into the headphone jack, and I receive a call, I have to unplug the headphones or the caller cannot hear me. On all of the other Androids I have had (4), I could leave the jack plugged in and just answer the call. The caller would play over my truck radio and I could just talk. They could hear me just fine. Now I have to answer and hit speakerphone (which is horrible when in a cradle) for the caller to hear me. I am sure this is by design. If the Airborne TB RC1B1 Rom dev could see this, maybe they could fix it.. AWESOME ROM with GREAT support..
thanks..

yea ive had the same problem....i was just hoping for a fix for at least until my z-130 comes in....BT FTW
I'm on a stock TB and realized this the other day.
I loved getting calls over the cars speakers with my old tp2...
i got some iphone headphones (klipsh promedia S4 headphones) that have inline volume, call answer and mic. I found it weird i could not use it on this phone since i can use it on a bb with no issues.... so this can be "fixed" via a different rom? i thought this phone just didnt support it? I CAN use the play/pause button
only..but no volume or mic
if this can be added, i got one more reason to root this phone.
I assume it is because the phone thinks we have a wired headset (mic and headphones) in.
so it may have to wait untill we get kernel goodness.

Doesn't work on a wired headset either; I tried Bose and iPhone earbuds.
I am hoping the Dev for Airborne fixes it the Rom. I really like the speed and battery life with this rom. This rom has amazing support!!!
Thanks.>

I am sure it will eventually get fixed...
These Devs are really good..

I am having a problem hearing since i rooted, but everyone can hear me fine.
same issues here, my droid 1, droid 2 and incredible worked when just plugged into an aux cable in the car. The thunderbolt turns off the mic when i plug in the aux making it imposible to talk to a caller over the car speakers with an aux cable. I really hope there is a way to fix this with a rom. It seams like such a little thing but it could be a deal breaker. Dont feel like using buying a bluetooth hard wire hit $200+.
Anyone else noticing really loud background noise when using a bluetooth headset? I have tried a couple different headsets and it's almost as if the noise cancelling isn't even working. I know the headsets work as I have used them on other phones with no problems. The background noise almost seems amplified to the point that people on the other end complain. What I hear on my end sounds completely normal though.
I'm having the exact same issue. Only happens with the Rezound. My N1 and RAZR work perfectly with the headset.
I'm not sure if it makes a difference but are you on stock GB or running a rom? Maybe someone can help you trouble shoot then
Stock and no issues with a Jabra speakerphone.
KORM via the beast known as the Rezound.
My Rezound is doing the same thing on my Pioneer in car bluetooth unit. I haven't tried since I updated to the newest ics rom.
Stock from for me.
Blue ant t1 and jawbone era. People on other end say I'm scratchy and loud. Agree is sounds like no sound cancelling.
Glad I'm not alone. Too bad I thought it was the t1 and bought an era.
It's more than just lack of noise canceling. I did a test at work by calling my desk phone. When i wasn't speaking, the gain would keep increasing until you could hear my officemate shuffling papers. Then when I'd speak, for a moment my voice was very distorted, and then the gain would drop and I'd be back to normal. As soon as I stopped speaking, the gain would start climbing back up.
I've used this headset with five other phones with no problem.
The phone is still stock. Now I need to decide whether to unlock and try a different rom, send it back for another one, or trade for my wife's maxx (she never uses a headset).

I really wanted to see if the ics roms had this prob but I also have a 3.8volt battery so that's out of the question for now.
Hi all,
Since I got my S3, I've been connecting it to my car's built-in bluetooth headset for music and for phone calls, and it's been working flawlessly.
Anyway, about 2 weeks ago it started making weird noise when I'm trying to call someone. At first I thought it's a connection issue, I hang up and call again, and it works fine. But at the moment, it happens all of a sudden during phone calls.
The issue is that the phone itself is still working earpiece and mic even while the bluetooth headset is connected and the bluetooth headset green button is ON. Which creates an audio loop and makes all the static and noise.
I've read that people started getting this after the JB update, with me it happened so slowly, I'm not rooted to try ICS back again. However, I tried to diagnose by connecting my old XPERIA arc to the car and my GS3 to another bluetooth headset. Same problem with the other headset, while the arc and the car work perfectly together.
I also tried to disable NFC and even removed the NFC sticker from the car completely....still the same problem.
Any idea how to fix this, or even bring it up to samsung to try to fix in the next update?

I had a similar issue when connected to my friends bose. Ended up with noise coming through, it might just be bluetooth, can be a bit funny at times.
Car bluetooth audio feedback
Helo,
I'm trying to revive this thread... I have also problems with audio feedback from my original embedded bluetooth car kit.
have a Toyota Avensis and I get a terrible feedback noise when making out calls from my phone.
I tried playing with many settings, like noise reduction etc', but none helped.
All this started since I updated to Android 4.1.X (from 4.0.4). At 4.0.4 there is no problems at all.
I see that it takes a while to the phone to actually dial. From the time that I push the call button to the actual dialing, the microphone is active and is directly feeding the audio system, which results in this annoying audio feedback.
In my mind, the microphone should be muted till the call is made... but it is on. When I wear a BT earpiece, there is no problem since there is no audio feedback path from the mic to the earpiece. but when hooked with the CAR kit there is a direct audio path between the mic and loudspeaker.
I'm sure I'm not the only one suffering from this problem. please post here if you suffered such problems.
Please post if you managed to solve the problem.
I am currently running with the latest 4.1.2 update - same frustrating problem.
no solution for feedback noise....anywhere
It seems to be a mystery. I've checked a number of forum posts with this problem and absolutely no solution. I also suddenly began experiencing this problem in my car's hands free blutooth system. Sometimes it happens, other times not. I usually switch the phone to headset then back again to make it stop. But it's becoming more frequent and the headset switch seems to be lasting for a short perios before it starts again. I've seen posts mentioning grounding issues and others that say it's normal because of the car speakers (like putting a microphone close to a speaker). This is NOT normal. I have never experienced this with a hands free system and a phone. Also, the fact that I have been using this for some months with no problem. I did however notice that when I am not using the hands free and I put my s3 on speakerphone, it sometimes switches back to headset for no reason at all. If anyone has found a solution please post it because right now in the interverse...there is none. Will do the same if I don't crush this s3 for being so annoying while in the car first.

I've been going nuts with a similar problem and it started happening after the 4.1.2 update as well. When I make a call I sometimes get an ear shattering blast of static for about 1 or 2 seconds just before the call connects. My wife has the same problem and she uses her phone all the time and she's going deaf. We both have Moto's Razr Maxx. Verizon gave he a new phone, it worked phone for about 2 weeks and now it's having problems again. This really sucks and I think we need to buy new phones. If anyone has a solution I would sure like to hear it.
I am running CM10.1 WFTN with hboot 1.5 S-OFF on Sprint CDMA.
Every time i get a call or call out i can barely hear anything and im sure the speakers are worn out so i have new ones in the mail
however ive been trying to use speakers or headphones so i can actually have a conversation but even with the speakers plugged in or a headset its still very hard to hear.
I have found however that after i place a call or answer a call if I have the speakers plugged in and press the speaker phone on then off again the volume jumps way up and i can hear the other person. This is kind of a pain though and I'm not 100% sure that the speaker is worn out either considering that there is this problem with the headphone jack as well.
Does anyone know of any glitches/fixes for this issue ive tried everything i can think of and the volume is all the way up for everything.
I am on my 3rd HTC One and the microphone is still having problems. I've read other threads and none seems to provide a solution to the problem. People I talk to can hear me if I use speakerphone or a headphone, but not if I'm just on the regular headset. People can't hear me unless I scream really loud. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm on stock rom.
Dumb question, does your headset have a mic on it? And have you made sure the volume is turned up with it connected?

My buddy is having the same issue. He is now on 4.3 and is still experiencing this issue. It's been occurring for a some time now. He is completely stock/never rooted. The phone itself has horrible mic quality when using the phone alone. If he turns on speakerphone or uses a headset the quality is crystal clear.
We did some playing around on how he calls and apparently it may be an issue with the noise cancelling sensor on the back of the phone (small hole). Try calling someone while covering and not covering this hole to test if your call quality improves. He ended up hold his phone while cuffing the back and it seems to be better. It's a dumb solution, but hopefully it works for you.
Does anyone know if there is an option to turn off noise reduction on the phone? Sorry for the question, i do not own an HTC One.
