Nfc android beam problem - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I am running slim bean and I'm not sure if this is just me. My nfc works fine I can scan nfc tags no problem but when I try and beam something to another person it will send them into the settings app. That person can beam a file to another phone just fine. Do you think this is just me or is that a bug in the rom.

mine is just opposite
My problem is just opposite. On my att galaxy s2 i777 android beam is working but nfc not working . Any idea. I am using jelly bean shostock rom . Same rom on other galaxy s2 is working fine. Battery is not an issue here because same battery on the other phone works fine for nfc. any suggessions?mb

Issues here too
My Verizon GS4 can receive things beamed to it via nfc, but will not allow me to send things. It makes the noise, vibrates, but the normal screen-shrink-tap-to-send animation doesn't happen. Would love if anyone ran into this and figured it out already...

ICS 4.0.3 leaked 1/12/2012 (my review)

So I installed it last night and it works great for the most part. The main issues I'm experiencing are the back and search hardware buttons do not work (home is back) nor do they light up, no incoming or out going sound on voice calls, and short battery life. After work I typically have about 70% battery left, today the phone died as I left. And I didn't check to see if the GPS, BT, and Cameras work. i heard video recording doesn't work on the international SGS2 with 4.0.3
anyone else tried it yet?
Here is a link to the Galaxys2root.com video where I found the link to the file.
What rom?
What ROM did you install? I looked at the ones listed under the AT&T GS2, and the only one close to ICS was the ICScreweD rom, which is not ICS.
Well, here's hoping that we get some ICS love soon...

You installed an international rom on your ATT phone. Hopefully you're able to flash it back to normal and a boot loader didn't come with it. Good luck.
PS
Red5 is probably 3 seconds away from locking this lol
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
A link to the rom is in the description of the video.
this is for the i9100 int'l SGS2 btw, NOT FOR AT&T I777

He installed one of the leaked samsung roms. It is for the international version and so it will have the softkey and call problems like he described.
It is obviously not something you would use as a daily driver, but it is fun to see what is on the way sometimes.
Thanks for not saying what ROM it was or thats its an international version so that other people that dont/cant read will flash and then we have 65146510484 threads started because their phone dosent work.
So to answer the OP question: No, because this rom isnt made for our phone... which is why about 40% your phone didnt work.

Serendipity 9.4 & Bluetooth

I have installed Serendipity 9.4 on my SGH-i777. Everything works great until I turn on Bluetooth for use in my vehicle. Once Bluetooth is on, it connects to my device just fine, but after about 10 minutes or so, it will disconnect. Sometimes when it disconnects it will re-boot the phone, or freeze-up the phone as well.
I don't want to go back to Serendipity 8.2. However, the Bluetooth connectivity is the whole reason I bought the phone, and it worked beautifully on Serendipity 8.2.
Is there any fix or patch for this?

I don't think Serendipity has anything to do with this.
On my vehicle this is an ICS issue. I posted my workaround in the following thread,

Is your car stereo Sony ?
I am having same problem on Semi rom. Pretty sure will also happen on stock rom.
Doing google search about it, I found that is may be problem with all Samsung 4.0.3 rom and roms based on it.
Same problem is reported on i9100 (International version of SG II)
And everyone with this problem was using Sony.
Installing a rom with android 4.0.4 appears to be only fix. (Unless going back to gingerbread).

[Q] MHL Cable not working

Hello everyone. I bought a mhl cable but it doesnt seem to be working properly. Im running Rootbox ics v1.8 with latest siyah kernel. I connected everything as it was suppossed to be connected, even the charger. My wifi signal drops and the image in the tv dissapears every few seconds and sometimes it just freezes. Phone is working perfectly as always but seems like the tv's image can't keep up with what's going on. if i watch a video that i have in my phone it works fine, but once i start doing anything else, like browsing the web, tv screen just goes black or it just freezes. This is really frustrating. I also tried turning airplane mode on but that didn't help. I also tried to overclock my phone but that didn't help as well. Any help would be appreciated.

MHL doesn't work for mirroring the display on any ROMs that are not based on Samsung stock.
RootBox is not based on Samsung stock, so it is subject to the same issues and limitations that all other AOSP and AOKP ROMs suffer from. This is one of those issues.
If you want MHL to work for stuff other than videos, then you will have to go to a stock firmware, or a ROM based on Samsung stock.

Thank You so much. I just downloaded stock rom and put it as a secondary rom and now i just have to switch roms in order to enjoy my tv experience. Thanks!
I'm having a problem. I have a galaxy sII, but even watching a video in 1080, the image is horrible.
I use version 2.3.6 Gingerbread
UHKI1 I9100
2.6.35.14 kernel N.E.A. K-x 1.4.2
May be the kernel problem?

No Call Audio Jelly Bean

I have no audio on calls on Jelly bean. Ive tried switching roms to different Jelly bean roms and no difference. This is so annyoing cause I can not call or receive calls! Any solutions??
I had this happen to me. I called at&t and they disconnected and reconnected my phone to the local tower and it started working fine again.
I get the same problems using a couple roms on here...I get reboots..then when comes back on I have no data..or someone will call and I can hear thrm but they cannot hear me....I found just rebooting fixes this...but I'm starting to hate JB right now...lol
If this solved the problem please respond and add [SOLVED] to the thread title so others with the same problem can benefit
I have the exact same problem with CM10, and it started with an old nightly, then I upgraded to the latest nightly and its still occuring. Anyone know whats going on, I don't want to go back to CM9
Rebooting is not fixing it.

Try a re flash. That was the only way I corrected this issue when I was running JB. I'm on ICS now and all issues have gone away. Soon, JB will be that way too. Until then though....
Sent from one bad ass, highly modified, Samsung Galaxy Note running Novena A3 using the BEST in mobile apps, XDA-Developers!
Until official jb source drops for our phone this will be a problem on ALL job roms . It seems to affect some more than others. For me, this happened less often than for most. However, it always happened at the worst times.. I am currently using the ICS based 7005 ROM with Google now and 4.2 camera flashed after the fact and find it to be an excellent compromise. 100% stability with 95% of the feature set and buttery smoothness.
I can't wait to see what PTMR3 does with padawan on this base....or better yet what manelscout4life brings us with official jellybean code..

I9100 lollipop on Sprint S2 epic 4G touch

I have been looking for a lollipop ROM to use on my old Sprint S2 E4GT SPH-D710 that isn't an activated device anymore, I can only find 4.4.4 and under for the D710 and I would rather have LP. I flashed an i9100 C-ROM 4.4.4 on it once and I remember it flashing fine and receiving signal but some things were backwards like screen rotation and hardware/soft keys, when device was straight up the screen would rotate upside down, I don't remember any other issues of any consequence though.
My question is what all do I need to change for the i9100 ROM to work on my D710. All I need it to do is work on WiFi and have Bluetooth function and have the keys function correctly for my device. Can anyone tell me what significant differences there are that I need to edit before flashing so as not to cause issues. I'm surprised my device didn't bootloop with the I9100 or even flash at all, not to mention that it was still seeing the network.
Any advice on what has to be changed to compensate for the slight differences between the devices would be much appreciated, thanks.
I have flashed three different i9100 lollipop ROMs , and an i9100 liquid marshmallow ROM onto the SPH-D710. None of them worked with WiFi . The Bluetooth does work though. And the camera is upside down. There is also no home button and If the screen sleeps it reboots the system ui. I have been inside and out of both devices ROMs on the d710. To get an i9100 ROM to work on a d710 the way you desire is to build from source either kernel or the whole ROM. I am currently trying that. I have a run on sentence in q and a about it
