How about Samsung I9192 Galaxy S4 mini?
Dual SIM card seems great.
mini sim or micro sim?
GT-I9192 has no 4G support?
this seems like a good and bad idea... what would be the point though? If you have a pretty current cellphone, your sim card will be more current to the micro right?

I have to say I have the galaxy s 4 mini dual dim card and it's the greatest phone I had, my last phone was the galaxy 3 and I just love the size of the phone the performance is great and also battery life, it might not be as powerful as the sgs4 but on tests it's on par with sgs3

Please define mid-range phone.
The S4 Mini GT-I9190 (according to http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9190_galaxy_s4_mini-5375.php ):
Is smaller than most "high end" phones, so it'll fit in your pocket more easily.
Being a Samsung device, sports a high-end 11-pin (MHL 2.0) connector instead of the MHL1 that if at all is featured on "high end" phones.
Comes in a DUAL SIM version (GT-I9192 only), something most "high end" phones lack, especially when combined with 1080p video recording.
Comes in a version with both 4G/LTE and NFC support (GT-I9195 only), something most "high end" phones lack.
Comes with USB Host, something most "high end" phones lack.
Comes with FM Radio, unlike it's bigger brother Galaxy S4.
Features an Infrared Transmitter, so you carry a Universal Remote in your pocket at all time.
Aside from the FM Radio, those are all USP's for me when combined in 1 phone. So I'd dare say that I consider this a high end phone for specialists, despite the fact that it doesn't have the fastest (quad core) processor and big screen/resolution.
IMO if you will treat a phone as a 'dumbphone' (just calling and texting) or just be playing around with it (swiping through menus and running 3D games), then I guess there are better options available with a faster processor, bigger display and higher screen resolution, even for half the price. I for one am looking for a tech-empowering device that with the features I mentioned is capable of being a portable replacement for a desktop PC. Most consumers probably won't be interested in that, but I think the S4 mini can be a very good productivity-phone.

hello friends
yesterday i brought hp touchpad 32gb and was just checking the device settings and it is showing carrier.
i am just wondering whether this supports sim card ???
can anyone tell me does it support sim card ???
thanks
They all say that. I would guess a holdover from webOS. IIRC there is also a Phone app etc on all of them too.
There is a little thing that slides out that looks vaguely like a SIM tray too.
No, the WiFi versions do not support SIM cards. The version for AT&T Faux G never went into wide production.
Sent from my Galaxy S II (i777)
Why, in certain apps do i see different network signal settings in mine, some apps tell me different things.

Hi,
I have been digging around, but came up with nothing.
I would like to have dual sim ability on my samsung galaxy s2, however I want both sims active at the same time. I have seen this feature in crappy phones where they have a "line 1" and "line 2", both active at the same time and you dont need to switch between the two.
Unlike my samsung galaxy s2, the crappy phone does not need a dual sim adapter.
Now from what I have seen, a dual sim adapter can provide some interface to switch between sims, this tells me that the OS can interact with the dual sim adapter, so maybe theres a ROM or app can that allow both lines to be active at the same time?
Any feed back is appreciated
Hey all,
Through a combination of misfortune and greed, I ended with a possible clone Galaxy S3 last night. I think it could be a clone, as the About Phone options are not complete (No Hardware/CPU info) and lack of Samsung Apps.
Also, the internal memory is less than 1GB.
Externally, the phone looks real, including the identification sticker at the back. Internally, there are some issues.
The phone is only connecting to 2G networks on Edge or Gprs, even though the SIM will connect to 3G or HSPA on another handset (means the SIM is correctly working on 3G).
In addition, there boot logo also splashes Android logo between Samsung, unlike normal S3.
Unlike my work mate's S3, which I compared it against, the SIM card and MicroSD card slots are located towards the top of the battery. Whereas my colleague's SIM card and MicroSD card slots are located towards the bottom. My phone takes a normal SIM, whereas my colleague's phone takes a Micro SIM.
I believe I have ended up with a clone. What is the best I could do with it (technical suggestions) ? I did not buy it to use, as I have another working handset with me.

You won't get any support here as you don't have the genuine S3. What you can do is sell that one to buy a genuine S3 or find a forum that supports that clone.
Here you won't get any so tough luck for you. You should've been more careful on buying such devices.
Can you kindly confirm if this is indeed a clone, as I am unsure myself.

The 'minor' hardware differences are the clincher, it's very difficult to exactly replicate both form and function when reverse engineering. Some clones can look very similar from the outside but take the back off and it becomes clear that they are working from a limited bin of parts to get something that will even switch on.

Your phone is a copycat. Sorry.
I know I keep bleating about dual SIMs, but does anyone have experience of installing Cyanogenmod on a device with dual SIMs? (Accidentally or otherwise ;=))

CM doesnt really support dual sim card devices. Many reason for this. They are not really an option outside of Europe, Most dual sim card devices dont release the kernel source for their devices so CM doesnt develop for them.
It really is not the case that dual SIM phones are largely limited to Europe. They are extremely popular in Africa, and as I understand it in India and China also.
There are quite a few reasons for this. In my case I can get a decent Internet connection from one provider, but cheap calls to friends and family, and better money transfer facilities from another. Other users my be tied to one provider for their work, but prefer another for their private life - usually on cost grounds. Yet others simply like to have dual personas. OK for non-smart phones, some people get along with carrying two small phones, but carrying two sizeable and expensive smart phones is a bit much, and if you get robbed or something you have more to lose.
It would be a pity if CM were restricted in the long term to techies etc who were not interested in such considerations.

Sorry what I was meaning was outside the US. One of the biggest issues is no kernel source code for these devices. Without it there will never be a CM rom for it. Also it would need a maintainer, Someone with one of the devices to build it.

Any news here?
I heared that CM supports Dual Sim on the Moto G (1st gen) officially, is that true? Are there any other dual sim devices in the meantime wich are supported by CM?
Just wanted to give it a bump as I'm also struggling with a HTC E8 dual SIM
I'm using it without any problems on Moto G2 (2014) DualSim. I was testing it on CM12 and now on CM13.

I have two variations of same phone (Mega 6.3"): SGH-I527M and SCH-R960.
First one has only one port (R1) but latter has two ports (L1 and R1). I was wondering why? I might want to just keep one of them and if one has more capabilities, I'd rather keep that. I read here:
The Telstra Samsung Galaxy S4 4G has two external antenna ports L1 and R1. When connecting your Galaxy S4 to an external 4G antenna it's important to only use the L1 port. The R1 Port is used to improve 3G services. These ports are auxiliary ports, not switching connectors, the internal antenna will remain active and the device will choose based on which receives stronger signal.

Now the trouble is that SCH-R960 which is US Cellular is locked and although I do have official unlock code (from US Cellular store), it's not unlocking it! Both phones are LTE phones so why different ports?!!! Does this mean SCH-R960 receives better signals for 4G?
Does it mean that some phone that have 2 or heck even 4 external antennas have better chance to receive signals?
Well, if someone has broader information (not just confined to Mega 6.3") about these, I'd like to know. Thanks.
