Hi,
have you tried to flash latest official stock firmware?
Some times its the "messing with EFS stuff" other times its the device's BS on us.
Just yesterday recovered one i9100 imei by flashing april's latest firmware (northen coutries). I have service box's that can recover damaged efs, bootloader, etc and was just checking if it was really need (service box) and was fine with just a normal odin operation. This i9100 that i recovered had 2.3.3 firmware and was always in flight mode.
If you don't want to get problems with the warning triangle in the future, check with chainfire's triangle away thread (comments) if the very latest firmware its supported by his code!
Best of luck on this.

have you seen his screenshot pics attached to OP? unknown baseband. Nothing to do with barred imei, at least just yet. If he gets to recover imei he will notice that, or not.

Have read yes. Check your imei. Not for fun for a reason mate. Dont waste time flashing this and that. Check that as phone is of the net, second hand....

Id just say that he has some valid sugestions here to try solve a problem on hand.
moral part here, if there is any, because, at this point its merely a speculation of status of handset on his country's networks, i speculate negatively and could say maybe he bought it from other country. The barred status is NULL in his country.
The moral decision should be his own IF there is any to make.
In your vision, he should just BIN IT. Are you serious? maybe return (if possible)? sell it for parts or try to do the good samaritan thing and try to find its owner?
Always his own decision.
I don't want to make an argument here, but his problem was not that he bought it over the webs, was that the phone had no imei/baseband and suddenly its almost stolen/lost. Get a grip man.
Get a grip man?? Wtf!! Dont post like that...its rude mate!!! Phone is of the net....bad place were bad people hang out and sell emmm bad items. Done posting on here op hope you sort it either way.

Yes i flash this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487 but no result ...
i have EFS folder . How to restore in phone?how restore IMEI ? please help
your best shot will be this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1659366
Use with your EFS. If still the same, try with mediafire's EFS link in same post. If with that process you get 004999xxxxxx imei, you get on your own but get to know that the baseband chip is not damaged. Going to a local gsm repair shop to do the imei repair using original imei might help.

I have an S3 i9305 4g lte version, on orange network uk. I rooted the phone using CWM. Then installed the Panorama ROM, using the guide on here. And yes i have used the search function, followed pretty much every guide there is. Still no solution. Im beginning to think my phone will forever be caught up with this problem
on top of there being no service. The phone itself has started to randomly turn off, and also lags!
I regret rooting lol just wasn't meant to be.
Can anyone help me? Literally, I would be so grateful if someone can actually help me fix this problem. I basically just want my network service back, regardless of unrooting or not.
Thanks a million in advance!

Don't let one unsuitable ROM tarnish your experience Try flashing a different modem.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1740061
Also, if you're unhappy with the ROM, flash another one. Plenty of good roms out there.

cant find the orange network modem on there? for jb 4.1.2 ?
I'm no modem expert, but search based on your region http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356325
Try different ones to see which one works best for you. Also search those threads for your network/region to see what other people are using.

i do nothing, my phone is genuine...i didn't try to change rom or to do something...the problem is appared suddenly.
How can i fix the problem? imei code is intact and my telephone operator didn't block my phone or imei...
i know that in this forum there are some topics about this problem, but it is very difficult for me find them...
help me please...i haven't assistance...
thank you
Look for the serial, if it starts with 00000 or something like that, you nees to use Ariza Patch.

If it helps...
...my wife had this problem last week. Phone was saying that it was not registered on Network. Looked around on the net, checked settings on phone and found that if you turn the phone off for a few minutes and back on, it re-registered to the network. Very basic, don't know why it did it, but it's now OK

This is the problem: imei code is ok but there is "not registered on network"
About the other solution, i'm going to try it but i don't think it will work for me..
Is there a final solution? It is impossible that we can't solve the problem..
Thank you all..

This worked for me after flashing S4 Revolution ROM V5, thank you i've got my IMEI back.
Hello
I've only just flashed my Samsung galaxy ace GT-S5830i with jellyblast 3.0.3. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1976674 ) Everything went fairly smoothly and now I have an almost fully working jelly bean 4.1.1 install.
Unfortunately, I can't connect to my Network Operator which is Tesco Mobile in the UK.
If I go to " Settings > Wireless & network settings > Mobile networks > Network Oporators" jelly been searches for available networks and comes back with a few options, one being O2, which I think tesco uses. But when I select O2, the phone says that my sim card does not allow connection to the network.
So... my question is, how can I connect to Tesco mobile network if the option is not available in the options provided?

You will see a box with IMEI written on top
Tell if there is a number written there or is it blank?
And it is Gingerbread, not Jelly Bean

If there are Jelly Beans FLYING AROUND
Then, congratulations, you a Jelly Bean device
If there is only a static image, sorry, you have Gingerbread

I thought the imei number was hard coded. meaning, part of the hardware. is that not the case?
What does loosing the imei mean?
Ok, so the imei number was stored in the EFS folder right? and if I haven't backed that up, then i guess i'm screwed?
If that is the case then I guess the only option is to take the phone back completely bricked?
Is there any other way I can correct this problem?
thanks

Lol. Thats a nice way to get rid of this phone...and buy a new one if you are out of your warranty period. You will get your imei number back....just flash any stock rom through odin again. Once you get back on stock...backup your imei number using galaxy toolbox app so that you dont think about crucifing your phone again. ( I wont be surprised even if you want to....because i usually feel like doing that.

I've actually just bought this phone with a new and very cheap contract (what a dooch). Flashing hadn't even crossed my mind 2 days ago when I got it. If only I'd known what I now know, I definitely wouldn't have got this particular phone, seems as though its a real pain for everyone.
Thanks for your tips by the way.
I've downloaded the stock firmware from sammobile.com for this phone, will the combination of restoring the imei, backing it up like you say and flashing with sammobile's rom be enough to restore the original setup?
If so, I might use the 14 day grace period to change my mind about this phone and get a slightly more flashable one.

I sorted the phone by putting the stock firmware back on, deleting offending files and unrooting it. I then went back to the shop and swapped it for a Galaxy S II GT-I9100 (wohooo what a phone!)
I will be rooting it at some point but I have to be sure I can do it without problems.

I'm pretty sure anything that concerns this thread will be already answered in there.
These are also useful, and a must read (before any sort of flashing, any ROM download page will indicate so):

In the last thread, especially this:
Provide details - ALWAYS tell us exactly what happened if you are requesting help. Always describe in detail what is happening.
"Flashed my phone now it doesn't work" is useless information.
"I rooted my phone 3 months ago and flashed a custom ROM. I decided today to flash ROM X from recovery Y. I booted into recovery and flashed from my internal SD card. I rebooted the phone and it is not starting up. It is looping at the boot animation" is GOOD information. We need to know What, when, how. We need to know if you followed a guide and which one (links where possible)

First of all, this is not my first time flashing a custom rom. I've been using different roms for months. Before this tragedy I was using MIUI as my primary rom and CM10.2 temasek's UNOFFICIAL Build - V10 as my secondary rom with Googy-Max Kernel 1.6.7 installed. Everything works perfectly fine. Yesterday I decided to install Resurrection Remix® v4.0.6 as my secondary rom. During the installation the installer asked me to choose one modem. And I randomly chose one of them. After that I rebooted my phone into secondary rom, but there was only black screen. Then I took out the battery, reboot it into my primary rom. UNFORTUNATELY, THE MOBILE SIGNAL WAS GONE. I tried to flash different modem/baseband and tried everything I can find on the internet. Now the signal shows" Emergency Call Only". I used Odin to restore my phone to stock rom, everything on my internal storage is gone BUT THE SIGNAL IS STILL "Emergency Call Only". The SN is normal (not all 00000000) but imei is wrong. Can someone tell me what the f*** is happening to my phone? Thank you so much! :crying::crying::crying::crying:
Update: I sent my phone to Samsung care. And they said some sort of chip on my phone is broken. And they charge me 200 dollar for replacement! Hell no! Any ideas??

...and the IMEI matches the sticker?
Maybe look on the internal and external sd card for an efs backup. Maybe a rom you flashed took one.

The stupid thing is I didn't know efs before this. And there is a backup. But nothing happened after I restored it. Another thing is the Titanium Backup on my phone became a free version. It should be a premium one. Does that mean I lost my efs? Then how come I still got the correct IMEI and SN?
Well if your imei is intact what's the fuss ? stick to the newer base bands

I just found out that the IMEI is different from my sticker. But the SN is the same. There's no signal man.

Okay..now I realize that my IMEI has been changed to 00499010640000 which is different from my sticker. But the S/N are the same. Is it fixable?

If not reset flash counter flash stock firmware and visit service centre

Ouch...
If you didn't have efs backup then visit to service centre was 'a must' move.. Although I have no idea how much they charge , 200 $ kinda seems too much /// @rootSU should know better

I would expect pocket change, £20
