Hello all,
I have a Galaxy S2 which I am going to give to my mother as I have upgraded to a Galaxy S4. I have flashed the latest 4.1.2 stock ROM (XWLSS) as I couldn't find a stock UK 4.1.2 ROM, which is a Swedish version. I want to change the CSC, so I downloaded the CSC changer from the play store, flashed siyah kernel for root access, but there is no UK CSC displayed. So I downloaded a CSC package from androidfirmwares.net (CSC_I9100XEULP5.tar.md5) and flashed it through Odin. Odin displays a success and the phone reboots into recovery, and an error message is displayed stating “E:Error in /cache/recovery/sec_csc.zip (status 7) Installation aborted.” Does the status 7 error mean I need root access as I restored the phone to full stock after the failure with the CSC changer? Any answers much appreciated, I know I'm probably doing something silly.

No, it means that your flashing the wrong/corrupted file.
Flash via mobile Odin, play it safe & easy.

I'll give it a go and let you know. Thanks!

Flashed fine, got through recovery fine, then hit a bootloop! Aggghh! Back to square one again. Anyone else got any other suggestions?

UK 4.1.2 LSS http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=GT-I9100&pcode=XEU#firmware good luck.
Would you believe it, I just looked through the carriers again and found that ROM under United Kingdom / Ireland! I'm downloading it right now and that should be me sorted. Thanks anyway mate!

Can someone help me out as I am new to all of this...
I am using a Samsung galaxy tab 7.0 (p2610), and I flashed a jelly bean update successfully using odin. I am not rooted.
I have a system update in the notifications window that is stuck there, that is not working (process fails), this is due to the csc code being in great britain.
I am in Canada, I have Odin ready to go, can someone please show me how to change the CSC of my device to Canada?
Where do I go to download the appropriate file? After I assume I load it up in Odin with device in recovery mode, and flash using the "CSC" option in Odin correct?
Any help would be great.
You're in the wrong forum. This is Galaxy S2/I9100.

Hi,
Please check the model of your phone/tablet
There is a search button at the top of the page to help you find the correct forum.

I have installed the CleanROM and rooted using ODIN but now want to return it to how it was when I bought it. It is a UK P7510.
I am currently downloading P7510XXKL2. Do I just flash the PDA via ODIN and then it will be like it was in the first place after doing a factory reset? Do I need to specify a CSC file in ODIN?
Thanks
I flashed it using ODIN and it went well. For some reason though Samsung Apps is now on the homescreen... Does this mean I have a different firmware (i.e older)??
there are guides to unroot your tab if you just search the forum
but you just flash the correct firmware with odin and then the stock recovery files
and to get the newest firmware for uk you can download an older firmware for uk p7510 tabs from samfirmware and then update using kies or OTA

For the UK KL2 is the newest...you're fine.
For US KMP is the newest
Thanks.
Just noticed some minor differences (different default icons/widgets).
I just want to say thank you to this forum for telling me how to root. get super su, cwm, flash kernals install cool jelly bean roms, even transform my m250s to a i9100 and unlock the sim. now here is my questions how do i transform my cellphone back to an skt m250s(korean version) what kind of roms do i need. i didn't make a backup before the transformation to the i9100. any help would be appreciated or any leads on where to go.
Sorry for the Edit:
I want to go from M250S --->I9100 ---> back to M250S(SKT) NOT M250K(Olleh KT) or M250L(LGU+)
If you want to revert back, go to sammobile.com and download a firmware there flash the .tar file using odin

I have a Samsung I9300, I'm in the US, and and on T-Mobile, it has the stock ROM, but rooted with Chainfire's CF-Root 6.4. The S3 has downloaded the OTA Jellybean update, and I have postponed it for now. My question is, can I apply the update ? and then just re-root with CF-Root, or will the update fail?
Thanks
I wouldn't apply the ota as it can fail with any root applied incl cf root. You could update through kies and reapply cf root or flash the official firmware for your phone through Odin. If ya need a hand finding out which official firmware ya need do the following:-
Dial *#1234# into your keypad and post results.

It shows:
AP: I9300UBBLG2
CP: I9300UBLG2
CSC: I9300UUBBLG2
I believe that firmware is Brazilian but using sammobile.com to check for brazilian versions I dont see a JB update for any of the brazilian carriers handsets or the unbranded version :/
If u have kies you could do the update through it, it updates the same as if u flash through odin and wont wipe anything. You could also use "checkfus" from playstore it should identify your phone and firmware version and allow u too download.
I had a similar problem, and I thought I could try to get Jelly Bean by flashing a custom Jelly Bean ROM. Now I want to go back to stock ROM (flashed custom ROM's performance is awful), so I downloaded the corresponding stock ROM from sammobile, but what I found was a very large (1,2Gb) tar.md5 file and a SS_Dl.dll file.
So the question; is it normal for it to be that big? and, how do I flash it with odin... which thing goes where? which pit should I use? do I put the 1,2Gb file in PDA? should I tick re-partition? bootloader?? Please, help
(Current ROM is DarkyROM III v6.0, and my android phone is a spanish yoigo i9300, so according to sammobile my stock is I9300XXBLFB_I9300YOGBLF1_YOG)

OK, a slight variation on the question:
S3 I9300 on T-mobile, stock ROM, rooted w/ CF 6.4. Can I use Mobile Odin Pro to flash the JB update that the phone has downloaded (update.zip sitting in /cache) checking everoot to keep root, and do the update this way, rather than using kies to update and the re-root?
And if so, what happens to the CWM recovery that is installed, does it get over written with stock recovery?
Thanks

Hi,
My bro got a 2nd hand S3 from CEX in UK, when we connect it to Kies it says...
'Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via Kies'
The current version is PDA:LI5 / PHONE:LI5 / CSC:LI5 (BTU)
It is supposed to be on O2,( has O2 stickers and box ) but I think it has been flashed with a generic firmware. Is this why Kies gives the above message? Don't think it's rooted, device status says normal.
Can I simply flash the 4.1.2 O2 firmware from SamMobile using Odin? If so do I need to do the PDA, PHONE & CSC, the guide on SamMobile also says to Re-Partition is the necessary? I am sure when I did my own S3 I just did the PDA part.
Will this wipe everything?
Regards,.
Les
Well I went ahead and flashed it using Odin, but still Kies doesn't like it. It now has the O2 4.1.2 firmware, with the O2 bubble screen on boot.
Kies says version = PDA:LL4/PHONE:LK1/CSC:LL1 (BTU)
Thought it was something to do with the CSC, I tried the Samsung Galaxy S / S2 / S3 CSC app but get and error 'preconfig does not support singleCSC'
Anyone have any ideas?
Regards,
Les

After flashing via Odin factory reset it. I had that problem too with kies. I flash jellybean firmware but kies would not recognize it. Factory resetting fix my kies problem. HTH.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Right well the problem kies is having is that the phone looked like it had the latest LL5 version at the start ( LL5 is the European Vodafone version) but the phones CSC is set to generic unlocked UK model(Btu). Even after your o2 flash the csc is still set to btu. So because the csc isn't matching the firmware, kies won't allow the firmware upgrade.
Either look to change the csc to o2u(UK o2 csc code) or flash the Btu firmware.
Edit: to change csc usually a full factory reset will change it or a 2nd flash of the o2 firmware should help. Even the csc app u mentioned earlier should help but be warned changing csc will wipe the phone using the app.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I can confirm that a factory reset and then a 2nd flash with the o2 firmware has fixed the problem.

I have bought a brand new galaxy s 2 (GT-I9100G). It's currently on GB firmware I9100GXXLB1 from XEF france region as this was bought in france. I want to update to Jelly Bean. I have installed the latest version of kies and got everything set up. But,when downloading the firmware update, kies is giving me extremely slow download speeds(3mbps connection here) that's going to take forever to download JB. So, I want to flash it manually using odin 3.07 as other firmware hosting sites gives normal download speeds.I have downloaded odin and want to install the following firmware.
So, can I upgrade directly from GB to JB without any problems? Do I need any special .pit or procedure while upgrading or I can flash normally using it?
Please reply..

No special requirements, that's assuming you know what you're doing with Odin (fair assumption given your post count?)
Actually, this is my first time using odin. I have never used samsung devices before. I have done a lot of reading before posting this thread just to be extra clear.
If no special requirements are needed, will I have any problems upgrading directly? Also, have I chosen the correct firmware for my GT-I9100G?

As the above poster said no problem in direct jumping from gb stock to jb stock, and you don't need to touch the pit files, but sometimes(very rarely) a bootloop can occur, so in such a case just performing a factory reset from the stock recovery would fix that.

Unfortunately I'm not going to comment on whether you've chosen the correct firmware. I don't own a I9100G, so have no experience choosing a firmware for it. As long as it's definitely an I9100G (as opposed to international I9100) firmware you'll be fine

According to the filename it seems to be i9100g firmware, if it's from a trusted source then it's safe for the i9100g.
