[P769] Security Error after flashing CWM - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Rooted P769 V20D.
After flashing CWM using Nandroid Manager I am stuck with the LG logo with "security error" written underneath.
I am able to get into s/w upgrade mode, but adb does not show up in device manager. Tried to reflash KDZ but failed at around 16% (error message showing phone is not connected).
I saw some people with the security error on the P760, but their problem seemed to stem from different issues. I've got fastboot working. I just don't know exactly how to proceed from here. Any ideas?

Thanks Lelus, I'll give it a try.
Edit: Dropbox link is dead.
Edit2: That did the trick. I was really hoping the solution was that simple. Thanks again for this and all the work you've done helping out the L9 community.

Nash/Lelus,
I had the same security error after being stupid and flashing CWM with Nandroid Manager. adb does not detect the device in SW upgrade mode for me to reflash KDZ or even try the fastboot option above
Can you guys help me on how you were able to fix recovery image back to stock? Would greatly appreciate it guys. Thanks in advance.
P769 V20D.
Edit: Working now! Thanks to your fastboot script Lelus I was able to flash it with the stock p4_769.img. For a minute there I thought I won't be able to get out of this mess. Thanks to your effort in helping the community. You are a saviour
PS. Is there a safe CWM version that I could flash on my P769 in OTA V20D 4.1.2? I think what happened I used a wrong version. Nandroid Manager showed the CWM version for Android 4.2.2 but I still tried to flash it and that bricked it.

I have the exactly issue, but my ADB did not appear in device manager any more and I found myself stuck here. The LGMobile Software Tool stull can see my phone, Not the USB-ADB, and the tool says I have the latest version (20F) so I cannot update through the tool. Neither the fastboot, Anyone have other solution?
I tried the "Recovery" in the option of the tool, it stuck in the step 2 (download) forever.

Your phone boot loader is unlocked? If yes, please place recovery.img in fastboot\yours\ folder. If you use Lelus fastboot tool it will redirect you to that folder.
PS. You cannot flash custom recovery if your bootloader is locked.

You did nothing wrong. I've read in some thread that update may seem to stop or hang but it still downloading rom. Please try to wait about 2 hours.
If that don't work, did you try to flash P769 ICS u-boot / x-loader in fastboot? It should allow you to offline flash kdz pass 15% (phone not found error).

Rooted P768g V20a.
Any ideas?
fastboot flash de recuperación p4_768.img ?
auxilio :crying::crying::crying:

Unlock your bootloader first. That would avoid security error.

More problems (new?)
Okay, so I have been playing with my p769 for months now, and I have been able to get rid of the "security error" screen previously. This time, when I go to flash the latest using the LG update tool, it goes from analysis to download to update, but on the update phase it stops at 4%, and won't move for hours.
I tried the fastboot fash, but the command prompt says, "waiting for device" and does nothing. I have no devices appearing in ADB, and I have hit a wall. I had previously installed the p769_20H update, rooted and customized to my liking, so I am speculating that the 20H update or the latest update tool is the cause of the problem. I have been at this for over 12 hours now to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated at this point.
I have attached a screen shot of both status screens

this worked for me in getting rid of my security error after trying to flash CWM..
this phone is like fort knox man.. i hate it lol

OK.
I think I screwed up - BAD.
I was attempting to unlock the bootloader. During the process, I accidentally did a factory reset. Its easy to do. I watched myself do it nearly in third person and was horrified.
I cannot get it to be recognized via ADB.
During a normal boot, it gets to the LG Setup Wizard but it will not complete. It crashes and tries again.
I can get it in S/W Upgrade mode.
Using the LG Mobile Support Tool without the hosts file fix, it gets stuck on the second phase being "Analyzing phone setting..."
With the hosts file fix, The Phone Update tool gets stuck at 15% and in the error field below _isPhoneConnected(0)
Updated USB drivers to the latest. 5.10

Look for adb and fastboot install directions. This is what I did:

The attachment linked to in that article is missing. The one at "HERE".
I sent a private message to shrucut to update it. The instructions for the post you linked to didn't align with omap4boot-for_optimus-v1.21 that I found at the original post of the article you linked to.
The one I sent you was for the fastboot which should send you to another for omap4boot those ate the only ones I use.
Sent from my LG-P769(v20f) using the xda-developers app. Hit the thanks bottom, makes me feel good!
Fastboot Problem
I got a proper version of the fastboot script for L9.
I get this when attempting to do fastboot.
usb_read got: 0, expected: 4, errno: 31
usb_read got GEN_FAILURE - got: 0, errno: 31
usb_read failed: 31
usb read = 0
unexpected 2ndstage response
It wont continue
It won't continue because you need omap4boot installed first. Dude read everything or you still won't succeed. You have to follow directions. Good luck.

Post OMAP4BOOT Install
Hey!
I finally got the OMAPFlashInstaller dated 3/9/2011. I installed the driver on XP 32 bit.
I get the same error as above.
Any thoughts?
Will a kind person do some more in depth troubleshooting via join.me?
I just cant get my phone unbricked as fastboot will not recognize the phone. (My XP box does have USB 3 ports but I am not using them.)
Thanks!

Please try Lelus fastboot, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292828
And you can find thread about it in forum. You need to install fastboot driver, in device manager before and after connect usb cable, to make fastboot works.
Wow!
I just found a greyed out device driver in "Software Devices" for LG P769. I deleted it. I now see the greyed out LG P2 device in Other Devices AND I just need to enable unsigned driver installation.
Its alive!
Used option 5 in the Lelus script.
Then the LG tool saw it without problems.

i made a backup of everything using TitaniumBackup but i have absolutely no idea what i am supposed to do now. i have read and read everything pertionent to my issue and have found no fixes for this. i cannot do anything with the bootloader at this time because the forums are all vague to the content towards Alcatel devices. the bootloader i have is

when i view recovery logs everything i see has 0 at the end so i assume its disabled. and i mean EVERYTHING.
i can send a copy of the TitaniumBackup zip file to someone who can help me with this issue. i have the stock recovery also. i am at my wits end at the moment. would someone please help me with this issue and possibly run me through some steps as to what i can do to get this phone successfully working again? I have never had this much trouble with a phone/tab as i am with this one. i am really desperate as i cannot afford to buy a new phone nor do i want to send it in to boostmobile to have the "look" at it. they will laugh at me and say "warranty void".

im having the same issue with my friends phone....i rooted it with king root and used supersu me to delete kingroot and install supersu me, and when i "successfully" updated the binary with the newly installed supersu it told me to reboot...i clicked the " reboot" option given by supersu it went to reboot but just stays at the loading screen where it says android and alcatel one touch.
where are you getting these packages you are trying to install with adb ?
i wanna try that too but i woulod rather just use odin to flash the stock rom back onto it, but i cant find the stock rom file anywhere , im assuming because this phone is new ( released july 2015)
can anyone hook me up with the stock rom file for alcatel onetouch conquest 7046t boost mobile???
Could you please upload the stock zip you have.

You can try to rename the file to "update.zip" and install it that way. It would be best to put the zip on the internal sd if possible, I believe. Also the error you are getting appears to be a signature/oem issue. You could also try editing the zip you have through the meta/google/??? not sure if this is correct folder. You should be able to search on XDA for modifying custom/stock rom. I believe you have to delete or add a few lines in a script file. Needless to say I have the same issue but no access to stock rom. Hope this helps. Please share the zip you have and I will post any results I have witgh my head ache. BTW im not positive, but believe this issue could be a result of a locked boot loader.
---------- Post added at 11:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:46 PM ----------
Another thing you might try is to install via fastboot
"fastboot flash system filename.img" you will have to convert zip.
Alternatively, you could try "fastboot flash zip filename.zip"
Not sure if you can flash tar files this waym but this may be an option also. Using fastboot should eliminate the errors you have described in your post.

all of this seemed good to be honest but did not work on my device. it seems that i do not have the stock recovery i believe as it says in the first few lines of the recovery log that TZDATA is looking for info from Los Angeles and also from a file made in 1970. i video recorded it so i could read it in .25x speed. it was a pain. could anyone use MTK Droid tools to get their recovery and scatter files also with the rom itself so that i may fix this. the device registers as MTK (Media Tek) for some reason. maybe because it was manufactured in China and most Chinese devices run through MTK as a primary then through their subsidary. if anyone c ould try this for me and post their findings i would greatly appreciate it. i am running trough all my ideas at the moment. Thanks guys.
gonna try a new approach i guess.
Has anyone had any further developments on this device? I have even tried to find another one at Boost Mobile but according to the clerk they were sold out across the nation which i find hard to believe. I am sending the device in for the warranty which a representative said they cover just about everything programming wise no matter what really so ill try that next week. Wish me luck everyone. Tnx.
i have the phone in perfect condition. i have hesitated rooting it. Going by the comments i have seen so far most people have either bricked their devices and are not able to get back to stock. i want to use the device with a GSM simcard its only has options for LTE and CDMA. Is it possible like to activate the GSM bands on this phone

I believe this phone uses the Qualcomm chip set. Mtk based methods wouldn't work with those right?
New info
So I've done some research into the boot loader, and from what I've found, traditional rooting methods will not work. Fastboot it seems is disabled on the device and won't accept any fastboot commands. The only program I've seem successfully unlock the boot loader is Sigma Key, which costs a good deal of money( for those prices you could rebut the phone). I do have a question though, if I got hold of a factory version of the stock ROM, could I reflash it with the boot loader being locked?

I don't know what to do with this bin file. Is it possible to convert it in tot file ?
Thanks

Hi !
I was hoping an answer but it isn't the case.
I'll try to help you, I've spent a lot of hours to recover my phone.
Try to follow this How-to :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2409308
-----------------------
About my problem, I think I don't have any possibilities. Even a factory reset fail.
USB debugging not activated --> Trying by ADB --> ADB need to install Superuser.apk in /data/local/tmp --> This directory has been erased because I've tried a complete flash and all my data are gone but my phone is still bricked.
Trying to Root to flash recovery --> USB debugging not activated --> Unable to root my phone
KDZ Updater fail (maybe because of USB debugging not enabled ?)
I think I'm f**ed (sorry for this bad word but I don't see any possibilites ...)
----------
Dear mudster, if I can help you, I will do my best

Help needed! Unable to flash rom with SP Flash Tool

So I've got this P780 from a friend. He got it for his kid, but the seller tricked him it was in working condition. Turns out the phone is in a bootloop. I've managed to access recovery and found out it has TWRP installed, but that's it. There's absolutely nothing else on the phone. My guess is the seller soft bricked it and couldn't fix it so he got rid of it.
I'm not used to flashing Lenovo phones, I've always had Samsungs and Nexuses, so I was a bit confused at first, but I found a couple of threads here and tried to flash a stock rom using SP Flash Tools, but there was a problem. My laptop couldn't recognize the phone. I found drivers here and installed everything, but I still can't connect the phone on first try. I have to unplug it and then plug it again every time.
I followed these instructions - https://forum.xda-developers.com/le.../rom-lenovo-p780-pre-rooted-official-t2553725 using the sp tools and drivers from the thread, but I've got an error - readback fail (4009)
I'm really stuck right now, I've been browsing the forum for 4 hours and tried everything I found, but nothing seems to work...
I could really use some advice.

first of all, thank you. the drivers provided by you in the first post worked perfectly.
i tried flashing with sp tools v3 and got nowhere, then i swtiched the preloader with the one i found on google drive (it said preloader 2014 or something) and the flash started but after a few seconds i got BROM_ERROR : S_FT_DOWNLOAD_FAIL (4008)
after that i tried the same thing with flash tools v5 and got a different error - BROM ERROR : S_DL_PMT_ERR_NO_SPACE (5069)
edit: i forgot to mention that i did all that following the instructions and using the rom in that same post from the first thread
any ideas as to what went wrong ?

Sooo.... Brom error.
Ok repeat the flash procedure.
But.... When you plug the cable to flash, before insert the cable, press the small red button for 20 seconds and before release plug the cable and release the button. In that order. Finger crossed. ?

Ok. Try to do this:
1. Prepare all to flash
2. After that setup SP Flash Tool v.5 to download, not firmware upgrade.
3. Deselect all except preloader.
4. Press download and wait that the preloader to be loaded.
5. After all that is done try to flash again your firmware.
6. Tell me what is going on.

Soo NAND problem.
That is bad.
I want you to try to flash the firmware from this link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/development/p780-stock-rom-links-t2842399
Try to flash with both sp flash tools.
By the way. You did not tell me what phone it is 4 gb or 8 gb ?
honestly, i have no idea if it's 4 or 8gb and i don't even know if there's a way to check. i think it's the 4gb version, but there's no way to confirm. the owner doesn't know, everything on the original box is in chinese and sadly there's not a single digit that would indicate what version it is. or maybe there is, but i don't know what to look for is there a way to find out ? like something written on the back cover or on the battery ?

If the phone was buyed from India, for sure is 8Gb. If was buyed from Europa, the phone is 80% 4 Gb.
In this moment you have nothing to lose. Try both.
I'm almost a 100% sure it was bought in Europe, so it's the 4gb version.
I've been trying everything I could think of and nothing seems to work. I still get the PMT info error when I try to flash.
By the way, I forgot to mention earlier - when you told me to download the preloader and then try to flash - the only preloader that worked was the one I downloaded from here https://drive.google.com/drive/fold...l4MXlWT1ctQ3dSUGFVWW4tazdIVlROaVp2aS1DSXk5b2M
I only got the green circle with that one, but whatever firmware I tried to flash with it I got the pmt info error.

yep, multiple times sadly, nothing happened. either i'm doing something wrong or the phone is totally screwed. but it's weird, because it had twrp on it, so the chip was working. maybe if i haven't done the format beforehand and just tried again to flash like you told me it could of worked, but now all i get is the pmt info error and that's it.

[SOLVED] Need help to unbrick an Archos 50 Diamond (ac50da)

Hi all,
I recently got my hands on a screen-damaged Archos 50 Diamond (ac50da) running the latest stable stock Android 4.4.4 ROM (I didn't know that an Android 5.1 preview was available here : https://blog.archos.com/fr/lollipop-en-version-beta-sur-le-50-diamond/).
I bricked it by doing the following :
- Trying to install @phhusson TWRP from here : https://twrp.me/archos/archos50diamond.html, without upgrading to 5.1 first (as explained here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/ar...ment/twrp-support-thread-archos-twrp-t3468677).
This did not work, as when trying to enter recovery mode by holding VolumeUp while powering up the phone would now bring up a totally green, then totally red screen, but nothing else. No device is detected if I plug it in a computer (either Linux or Windows).
- Booting (not flashing yet) CWM from here : http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum...50-diamond-root-procedure-recovery-cwm-v6051/
For some reason, I ended up rebooting (without installing CWM or anything else). But before rebooting, CWM warned me that my ROM wasn't rooted, and offered to install the su binary in /system/xbin/su. That's were I met my doom, because the device would then no longer boot.
- If I power up the device, the Archos logo shows up, then a black screen. Plugging the device on a Windows computer shows a dozen data drives, and the devices itself identified as QHSUSB_BULK.
- I thought of using QFIL (Qualcomm File Image Loader) to re-image the device : https://androidmtk.com/download-qualcomm-flash-image-loader-qfil
I managed to get my hands on a stock firmware image (prog_emmc_firehose_8936.mbn or validated_emmc_firehose_8936.mbn) by paying here : https://firmware.gem-flash.com/index.php?a=browse&b=file-info&id=110067 but QFIL won't flash it as I don't have a driver for QHSUSB_BULK.
- However, I'm unable to find a proper driver for that device. I found several Qualcomm drivers, either for QHSUSB_BULK or the (apparently older) QDLOAD, but none of them include definitions for the Archos 50 Diamond.
- The device's USB identification is the following : USB\VID_05C6&PID_9057&MI_00
VID (Vendor ID) 05C6 = Qualcomm
PID (Product ID) 9057 = ??? (should be the Archos 50 Diamond but is not referenced anywhere)
MI (Master Interface) = ??? (no idea what that means)
- Other findings :
The .mbn files refer to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 610 MSM8936
Inside the stock image is an android-info.txt file that reads "board=msm8916"
So, can you guys help me out here ?
I think that finding a proper QHSUSB_BULK driver for VID_05C6&PID_9057 should be enough, but I'm open to any suggestion.
Thanks !
I think I found a driver for that device here : https://driverpack.io/fr/hwids/USB\VID_1D9C&PID_9057&MI_04
It's for a "Sonim XP5 HS-USB NMEA 9057", but whatever.
However, after installing the driver (just uncompress it using 7-zip), QFIL fails when trying to download the firmware image with "failed to switch to EDL mode" (EDL = emergency download).
Anyone has a better idea*?
VICTORY !!!
When trying to power off/reboot the device, I noticed that it could still boot in fastboot mode, by holding VolumeUp + power until the screen turns green, then release the buttons before the screen turns red.
I could then boot again in CWM (still unable to flash it though), and re-install a stock ROM from the manufacturer site : https://www.archos.com/us/support/support_tech/downloads.html?type=s&rlist=1&devid=240
Phew ! At last !
And now to try and install the 5.1 beta update…
