I am wondering if I am good to send back this phone that I have rooted and played with a lot and what not, to send back to Verizon with a custom bootloader that says it is locked and S-ON. Will they know that is isn't really locked?

If my bootloader says relocked not locked but everything else is stock then can i still claim under warranty in Australia on vodafone
Probably not. Bootloader has to be "locked". Relocked will let them know that you had unlocked it and flashed something.

That really depends Vodafone Australia's policy, as it seems to vary by country.
If you do need to be "locked" rather than "relocked" this link might help. For users that that have htcdev unlocked, the easiest way to regain the "locked" bootloader status is to do the JuopunutBear wire trick, which will leave the bootloader "locked", then flash an RUU and set S-ON with the "fastboot oem writesecureflg 3" command. That would set your phone back to totally stock.

few days ago, I unlocked my DX bootloader to root it.
but, I notice that I can't install OTA update from HTC, so I relocked my DX bootloader. But, in the bootloader screen, it written "Relocked".
Someone please help me to get back the "Locked" mode, not the "Relocked" (for the warranty ). I've searched in google, doesn't found any solution.
sorry for my bad english.

And you won't find any, that's a curse of bootloader unlocking.
Hi I basically want to trade in my HTC desire 610 (EU addition) at CEX.
It is currently S-ON, deodexed & modified stock rom with JMZ kernel.
I want to be able to unroot and relock bootloader without signs of tampering as I will get less for it if they find it has been rooted.
I am fine to flash an odexed stock rom (im pretty sure there is one in the dev thread), but does anyone know how to get the bootloader back to its original state, when I have tried with other phones it always says "re-locked" instead of locked and is obvious it has been tampered with.
Any ideas?

You can do "fastboot oem lock" to re-lock the bootloader. This will change it from saying "unlocked" to "Locked". However it will still say "Tampered" above it and there is no way to get rid of that once it has been unlocked.
Hello,
I am not sure if I am in the correct section so please redirect me if I am. I installed CyanogenMod on my Desire 610, and when I tried to get back to stock, the .exe didn't work. I read that I needed to relock the bootloader in order to use the software so I did:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
Now I am stuck on the white screen, almost in a bootloop, like a soft-brick..
Code:
*** TAMPERED ***
*** RELOCKED ***
*** Security Warning ***
and S-On
I can't get out and I don't care if I lose data but does anyone have any ideas?!?
Thanks,
Desoto

did you try to unlock bootloader again?
So you are attempting to ruu back to stock?
Unlock bootloader again and reflash the original recovery.
The stock recovery MUST be installed before relocking or it'll lock you out.

okay I'll try when I get home
I've had amy Mate 10 Pro for a week now and am enjoying it so far. I have always rooted all my phones and want to root this one as well. I have applied for my unlock code and received it. One thing I was wondering about, Huawei say they record that you have asked for the unlock code for warranty reasons.
So......... As I have my code, does that mean they would not honour the warranty even if I dont unock the phone and leave as it is??
If so, I may as well go ahead and root!!
Thanks
Hi ya, I did the same thing as you, applied for it and then it said they record that you asked for it. I believe when you unlock the bootloader it goes to unlocked and you get the splash screen warning on every boot, but if you relock the bootloader, it's shows relocked and not locked. So aslong as you haven't unlocked it , then it will show locked and your warranty should still be intact, but the thread by mankindtw is able to unlock and relock without the code and I believe still shows as locked after relocking for warranty purposes. Hope that helps.

Thats great. Thanks for the info. Coming from Samsung with e-fuses I just wanted to know what the situation is with Huawei!
No efuses to blow in this phone. My last one was an s8, so I know all about that. Enjoy.
