Why don't u just install it like everyone else.

You won't lose anything for testing it, unless you don't have your apps and contacts backed up through the cloud or titanium
Do a nandriod back up in cwm. If you don't like it restore and you haven't lost anything but time.

New EVO 3D user

My bro just bought a 3d and he wants to root it... He currently using his og EVO and he's planning to use it until the end of the month. My question is: do i root the 3d before he activates it or after? I want to root it ASAP but I dnt know if he will have a problem activating it.

Yes you can root it before you activate it. Just don't flash anything but a stock rom so you can activate everything correctly when the time comes. Once activated, make a nandroid backup and store it somewhere safe. Then flash away!!!

You can root it and make a nandroid of your stock rooted rom then flash away. When it comes time to activate it just restore that nandroid. In the meantime have fun flashing what ever you want.

EFS backup

Hi community was wondering of anyone knows where I can find an app I can use the back up my EFS folder.
I'm on stock Rom with root and Busy box installed.
Thanks

I don't think anyone has found a way yet. Alot of people have lost it while flashing.

Doesn't exist yet, but many smart developers are looking into it. You can search and find a number of threads open on the subject.
Actually I lied: the efs folder you can backup, but it doesn't appear to contain the imei, assuming that's what you are actually asking for.

Just backup all the folders

Wow I just flashed Trinity. What rom were you on? So it has nothing to do with CM but something else in the code, Fu*+

4ext recovery?

I started using 4ext. Have got to say I love it. Better than cwm. But I noticed after a couple of days, the app doesn't say anything about restore or back up. Or flash new zip. I know I can manually flash it but I'm wondering where the option went. I had it a couple days ago.
