Phone w/ daily carry - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Heard tell of people having problems carrying the phone in pockets, "it's too big," they said. Haven't seen one of these, so what's your daily carry with your phone? Mine is pretty big, I work in a kitchen and need a lot of small stuff at all times to reduce running around. I actually have to update this as I have a few more tools. All this fits it my Dickies work pants though, no problem.
Tl;dr: what's your daily carry?

What is up my kitchen brother? I used to carry about that much, but once I started working the line I had to slim way down on what I keep on my person. All I carry at work is chapstick, contact eye drops, and this here note 2. I carry my note in my back pocket at work because I'm a little paranoid about the heat of the line damaging it, or accidentally dropping something or spilling something on it. Can't work without it though.

My Note 2 w/ Otterbox lives in my back pocket at work, but in addition to it I also carry 3 sets of keys, palm pilot, 3-4 pens, highlighter, sharpie, radio/walkie (work size, not the little Cobra ones), can of chew (Skoal Mint Blend), pack of gum, little notebook, wallet, headphones and normally my name tag & lanyard.

As another Kitchen dweller(Sous Chef), I carry my Note 2 in my front left pocket, wallet, & chapstick in my front right. I keep my keys clipped to my waist band with a carabiner. All pens & sharpies go in my shoulder pocket.

Lets see I have my note II, my work iPhone (i despise this), keys, chapstick, and wallet. Never had issues fitting the note II in any of work dress pants pockets.

i am a delivery driver curretnly starting a new job monday but.. i have a wallet case i recently upgraded to has my id debit card adn my cash i also hold have my electronic cig that i carry with and my keys with a carribeanar i keep everything i need in my car as my job is primarily out of my car lol

Yeah, my carry since that pic has been upped with a metal mesh cutting glove (goes EVERYWHERE), very slim (top small pocket/secret pocket) ChapFix, and a multi-screw driver with ten bits that fit into it's pen shaped body. I used to have a wallet case, to free myself from carrying a wallet and a phone, but I dropped it once and marked the bottom of s-pen, and around the slot itself. Needless to say, I was mortified, so I got an otterbox and a Nintendo wallet
I'm actually an Assistant Kitchen Manager, so working the line on any given day is pretty much guaranteed, but I never carry in my front pocket. Too many corners all over the place, plus people bumping and pushing. I've yet to fall in the restaurant in five years at this location, though I can imagine it would be horrifying if I fell a** first onto the ground, haha.
Either way, I am very comfortable carrying the phone, even with my loaded down pockets, otterbox, and extended battery (it takes a VERY tight belt, sometimes). For the most part my work carry is my every day carry, unless I'm going out somewhere nice, or somewhere I know I won't need any of it within a 70% chance. So, not just in the many-pocketed Dickies. Also, good to see so many of my kitchen brethren here! Haha, good stuff.

From reading through this, I never realized so many people carry chap stick. Never would have guessed.

Money clip, Note 2, Keys with pill fob, Ecig, Ecig charger/refill, Snus, and Roto as well
Only the N2 goes in the left pocket. Nothing else. And what do you need Roto for, OP?

[REVIEW] Spigen SGP Valentinus Wallet Case

So I have been looking for a case that doubles as a wallet so I could free up a pocket. I came across the Spigen Valentinus. I have read a couple reviews on it for other phones, but none for the note. Read some good things about it so I ordered it from Amazon for $44.99. It came in about a week ago and I am pretty pleased. Even though it's faux leather, the quality and stitching seem to be top notch. Has a smooth feel to it and isn't overwhelming in the hand.
It only has slots for 4 cards/license and a space for money. But since I carried a front pocket wallet before, this wasn't a problem. I carry my license and main debit card with me in it. My other membership cards, AAA etc., have apps that I use so I don't have to carry them anymore. I rarely ever carry cash on me, but if I do its only a few bills. Any more than 5 or 6 bills would probably be a little thick for the case. If you are a person who carries a lot of cash or has a George Costanza wallet, this is definitely not for you.
The size of the case is around 6" tall and 3 1/2" wide. Almost an inch thick with the phone inside. If you wear skinny jeans, this is a no go. It fits nicely for me in my pockets, but may be a tad large for some people.
As far as phone/camera use goes while in the case, I haven't had any issues. The front flap folds around the back easily to text or playbgames, although, to take a picture or video it is a little awkward at first. Talking on the phone is not an issue at all. The phone will even still read nfc through the case. I would recommend using a screen protector with this as the cards touch the screen and may possibly cause a minor scratch over time.
Overall, for a wallet case, I would rate this a 4 out of 5. If it were a little thinner and came with is own screen protector, like other Spigen products do, it would be an easy 5. Hope someone finds this useful.

I think this case looks beautiful but I would like to know if it's not to intrusive when you try to take a picture. That looks like the only possible downside to me.
I am still waiting for my case to come but I sit on my naked note all the time. I do take it out of my pocket if I sit on a hard surface just to be safe as I'm a good sized guy at 6'3" 230lbs. But my phones have all taken serious beatings. I'm rough on things and my sgs2 took the beatings so so very well... I assume my note will as well. Its already taken a tumble down 15-20 wooden stairs and also fell out of my work shirt pocket from 8 foot or so onto the concrete floor and made it through without so much as even a scratch. And keep in mind I have no case no screen protector. So these things are pretty tough. My wife's white skyrocket is missing clear coat already and she babies it. I assume it was just a bad coating to begin with.

Of course there will always be cases of good and bad luck with everything. Ive probably just been very lucky so far. I also ran my sgs2 over in the grass with my truck and and was fine. So I mean as far as build quality goes I think the galaxy series are pretty tough but they aren't indestructible and there's always going to be factory flukes that cause a bad experience for someone. Which really is a shame because they are great devices.

dropped you note?

How many times have you dropped your note?
I was terrified of dropping it at the beggining and I was so careful. I figured I would break easily because its so big.
I've dropped it many times. One time I dropped it from about 4-5 feet in the air onto a marble tiled floor, it fell with a deafening bang on its corner and bounced about 2 feet and dropped back down. It didn't even turn off. Just the card got ejected. So screw all you people who think plastic phones suck! They're so lightweight and so durable. Love those iPhone people walking around with cracked glass!!
I've probably dropped mine over 50 times, no scratches or anything its awesome, all I hear is iphone users whining about their screens being cracked

Didn't mean to sound arrogant, I just hate when the iPhone users scoff at other phones because the iPhone is "beautiful with metal and glass"
Yeah, and it shatters as soon as it hits the ground!
I've dropped mine twice. Once on concrete and the other I can't remember. Both chipped or dented the bezel but didn't damage the glass.
I had an iphone 4 that I dropped and broke. I went to the store and said "I broke your unbreakable glass, what can you do for me?" and got a free replacement even though I was outside my warranty period.

Ironically, I have dropped my note twice only after I got my otterbox defender case. Of course there was zero damage. I think I heard my otterbox case laugh and say, 'you call that a drop?'
Ive dropped mine once, but it was very low drop. it was fine, but reading other stories gives me chills.
I dropped it from about 4 ft, landed staright on its face and tons of cracks in the glass.
I put a screen protector over it, the pen works perfectly still since the screen isnt cracked and someone even told me they could barely tell because the colors are so vidvid.
I have insurance, but they want too much money and paperwork with the Note 2 right around the corner. I figure ill wait and try and find someone selling one for cheap/broken ports etc then give away 200$ AND my hardware that is still worth a bit of money.
the not cracked part has more area than a 3.5 in screen anyway
Dropped it agaim today. No case. Back popped off and battery fell out but no damage at all. Amazing.

I've dropped mine significantly only twice. Both times scuffed the silver housing, but the screen is still perfect. I could care less that samsung uses plastic, it holds up super well in drops. I have a tpu case, but I rarely use it...only when I'm out partying or doing yard work etc. Prefer to use phones nekkid.

YOU'RE HOLDING IT WRONG...
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke
NOTE user:
"take a deep breath, make sure to get a good look at it, relax and slowly take it in, the size is overwhelming at first but you will have a happy ending afterwards".
Woman:
My wife knocked mine out of my hand a few days ago (accidentally). It fell about 4 feet, and I went diving in for it... and missed. It skipped across the concrete a few times, and luckily only ended up with some scuff on the two side corners. I received more damage than the phone. It is truly quite durable. Apparently I need a skin protector for myself, more than a screen protector or case for my phone.
I dropped my note about 5 times, and it's still ticking! I do have the otter box commuter case. So far this phone is very durable, love it!

I guess I'll comment on what I've read so far.
I love the look and feel (and weight) of naked devices. Its a big device but its manageable without a case. So, though I've seen some nice cases, I'll keep it naked. Another thing, best buys insurance is much better, no deductible. It just doesn't cover theft.

I don't normally promote accessories I buy, but I'm going to start so it hopefully answers other's questions. So I bought this case earlier in the week since i work in a dirty and hazardous (to phones) area. I have to keep my phone on me but i always run the risk of dropping it or crushing it. I can't stand using a large bulky case such at the Defender series even though they are robust and perfect for where i work. I like to keep my phone in my pocket so a slim case is perfect. I tried using a skin but i still wanted that extra guard from a rubber case. This case is very tight. Could have been because i have a carbon skin on my phone already but i definitely liked how it fit on the phone. I also had to be very careful cause the corners took the screen protector off. It didn't have raised buttons on the case which was a downfall as it would make it a bit more functional for the average user. However, most DNA users will ether have the USB cover broken off or will use a wireless charger. My wireless charger worked perfect with this case as well.
If you want a case similar to this then go for it. i have no complaints

Is it any easier to press the volume, lock buttons than without the case since it outlines where they are?
I find it easier to find the buttons cause of the ouline of the case. But no easier to push them, about the same effort.
sent from my rooted DNA
I also have this case and I would agree with your assessment. The volume buttons are about the same to press, a little easier to find due to the cutout. The power button is still hard to hit and probably a little harder, I would have liked raised buttons.
I am a repeat customer of Cruzerlite for a reason. Quality and value, and this case is no different than their other products. It is very sleek and slides in and out of my pocket with ease. It does not attract pocket lint either. The back is clear and you can see the notification led through the case. I also like how Andy is on the back instead of some cheezy argyle pattern. Also it does not leave marks like the Verizon tpu case does, which I also own. My only niggle is I wish the cut out for the volume and power buttons were not cut out, as I feel like it does make it easier to push the buttons as they are really flush. The vzw case doesnt have the volume cut outs but its not a deal breaker by any means. At least the holes are big enough to smash your thumb through.

I'm a big Jacksonville Jaguars fan (yeah I know they forever suck) and the teal cruzerlite case looked pretty sick on my Rezound. I got a demo unit for DNA in green and I really hope they seal in the volume rocker port like the vzw tpu case its much better because how flush the buttons are. Also the power button sealed in would be nice. I would buy several cases if they did a revision until then I am sticking with the blue tpu from vzw.

Carrying around z ultra -- what's your method??

Do you have a handbag?
Do you put it in shirt/jacket pocket?
Do you put it in trousers/jeans pocket? Front or back(Don't sit on it!)?
I am sure carrying ZU has forced a few of us to change regular pattern.
I always had front left jeans pocket reserved for phone and wallet. But now that the thing is a bit larger than the average phone, and that it still feels funky(voer a month of use) when I climb up stairs with ZU in front left pocket... It made me think of alternatives.
My belly is a bit too big to have a holster on my belt...
When winter comes, i can use jacket inside pocket, and I think it would work well.
But until then.....
I want a man-bag
Has anyone bought a handbag recently, because they felt the need since purchasing Z Ultra?
I want it just big enough to transfer what used to be in my front and back pockets into the bag, and yet have a perfect compartment to fit my ZU. I have a big bunch of keys, Z Ultra, at least 1 pack of cigarettes, maybe 2, lighter, wallet
It would be nice if accessibility is convenient, compartmentalised so that it won't scratch up the phone and well protected.
Anyone care to share their bag-choosing decision with me?
I bought a bag for my ultra lol its like a small messenger bag.
Sent from my C6833 using xda app-developers app
I thought about carrying around a messenger bag of some kind when I don't have my notebook with me (i.e. going to work). You know, something small, compact, and easy to carry. But the smaller they got, the more purse-like they look. Just sounded like more trouble that it was worth.
So when I'm wearing loose shorts, it goes in my pocket just fine. If I'm wearing jeans, such as to work, I use this leather pouch. Works great.
http://www.pdair.com/index.php/smar...-ultra-xl39h-horizontal-pouch-type-black.html
I may switch things up when/if I actually find a case that works for me (still going sans case/protector) and when my SBH52 arrives. In which case I could at least toss it in my notebook bag in certain situations. Right now, I kind of want easy access to it.
I'm still wanting a good belt-clip case/holster, but I've yet to find one.
I just put it in my left pocket in my jacket or on the left outside pocket.. Works good. But I might purchase some leather case but not right now.
I have it in my front pocket, unless i wear slimfit pants, then i'll put it in my jacket (if i'm wearing one). I take it out of my front pocket when i sit down. That's not necessary if it's in my jacket though. That's all i guess. When i wear a blazer or suit, it'll go in the inside pocket.
Shirt pocket.
Front left pocket always for me.
My pants aren't very tight lol
I always take it out of my pocket when sitting down though.
Left jeans pocket.

usually front left jeans pocket or left rear pocket if I'm waking and want easy removal. I have a thin case on mine that has a matte rubber feel so its been a little harder to remove from front pocket lately. I always remove it from pockets when sitting down so I don't sit on it or have to struggle sliding it out of the front pocket. lol

When I'm. Walk g around its always in my back pocket. In the car it's on my passenger seat and at work it sits on my desk or in the drawer. Using it daily hasn't been an issue at all for me.

Working in London a man bag is not laughed at but actually a normal accessory, so the Ultra paired with a SBH52 is a great combination.
Sometimes in the big front pocket of my fleece, or suit inner pocket, but never in my jeans pocket, as I just know I'd forget and have a broken phone.
It fit inside my pocket but really annoying and uncomfortable, even in the hand Best way is put on the dock and use like a tablet.

Its comfortably in my pocket when I'm out and about, in the passenger seat when I'm driving and sitting on a dock on my desk at work.
I only had the device for 3 weeks and I really don't see the size as a problem so far, but when I do pull it out in public people always commenting and it seems like they have more problems than I do but I also got a lot of positive praise.

Always in pant's left pocket...
Most of my pants were not tight...
Even if i wear jeans, the phone wont cause too much trouble...
Btw im using Aluminium bumper which wont increase the thickness too much...
in my jeans front right pocket. I use the incipio dual pro shine case with it as well as a glass screen protector..so it has a bit of added bulk to it but it doesn't cause me too much trouble
Left pants pocket. Always.

A lot of left pockets.. Lol. Well, my ZU goes in the Right front pocket, or the chest pocket in my jacket, sometimes in, sometimes out. I haven't been able to find a casing anywhere that fits the dimensions of the ZU. The closest I've seen is the case for iPad air, and that's not even close.. I do love my Phablet either way though <3

Rubber feet

Since I got my phone on Tuesday, I've noticed that I seem to have trouble picking up the phone when it is flat on a table.
It wasn't until this afternoon when I took out my previous phone to look at some settings that I realized why.
My previous phone does not sit flat on the table but rather the back is flat and the phone edge is raised above the table. So when I go to pick it up, my finger easily fits under the edge.
This phone even with the case is flat on the table with the edge flat to the table as well.
I'm thinking in looking for some rubber feet that I can put on the case that would raise the edge of the table to pick it up easier.
I've seen someone do that to give some protection for the camera lens.
Wonder if any one else has done that.
I am using the Spigen Neo Hybrid case.
If I paraphrase your message, it says that you have a hard time picking up the phone because it is too thin LOL
if you pay close attention, you will find that the camera portion protrudes from the back and the phone lies at a slight angle. The camera lens never touches the surface.
Go get yourself a bigger case if your fingers are so big they have trouble picking up a note 3
and if you have trouble picking up the note 3, i think it'll become a challenge for you to pick up the iphone 5 lol
In the Spigen Neo Hybrid case it is flush to the table. The camera does not protrude like it does without the case. So I imagine that without the case it is easier to pickup. However, I have already seen the effect of carrying around the phone without a case. Coworker dropped his, 2 days after he got it.
I found some "feet" that are very small that might do the trick.
Diagram showing what I am talking about. And no, I don't plan to go case hopping... Already spent enough on the phone, case and et al.

The N3 is actually a lot thinner, even with the case.
Sure, add some rubber feet. Why not.
I have a spigen bounce and assumed that the case you have would be similar.
My case has 45° angles at the bottom to the sides, so I can easily grab a bit under the case.
Put the oem wireless charging back on the phone. It makes the back thicker and therefore it is easier to pick up the phone.
I already have ordered a QI wireless set which should work with the original back and case.
As mentioned, I already have a case. Will update when the feet arrive.
I want to find some clear feet just thick enough to keep the camera off the table to stick right to the back of the phone. I love the phone but the awkward angle it sits at annoys me as my previous device (Note 1) had a mostly flat back and sat flat correctly. Anyone know where to get such feet? I have the white Note 3 so the back is hard plastic, perfect for attaching feet to.

Go to a hardware store or Lowes/Home Depot and tell a clerk what you want clear rubber feet that stick on. They'll probably have more than 1 type/size. You'll be able to ring some about 1/2 in diameter, either flat or rounded. Smaller diameter may be a problem.

Just use some of the clear rubber feet that stop kitchen cupboards from closing hard.
Pic is of the feet and a UK 1p piece.

Funnily enough just flew back from Arizona on Thursday!
would say it's slightly larger than your 5c
So you can see how small they are.
HTH
I have rubber feet on mine. They were salvaged from the underside of an old laptop. Routers, portable hard
drives, and other electronics are and excellent source.
I should do this.. prevents the surface from scratching the camera too...

I have these on mine. The problem is the adhesive does not stick well at all to the black back. Not sure if it has something to do with the soft touch feel or what but I've practically lost the sheet of these nipples.
I used to have an HTC one. I couldn't bare to put a case on that phone, so I bought a dbrands skin for the back, and went to ikea to pick up the Silicone bumper stops for cupboard doors. They work great! And best of all, they're free I'd you go to the returns /exchange counter. Rusts where they hold all the miscellaneous parts

Most of the Ringke Cases have little nubs like feet that keep the phone up. My friend has one on his iPhone and it seems to work great.
They still havent announced any cases for the note3... Which is a shame because i wouldve bought one yesterday.
If you get the OEM wireless charging back it will do the same thing.

Can you tell me if lens cover is plastic or glass?
The rubber feet actually worked out great.
However, I ended up moving to the Bounce case instead. It is slimmer, lighter and very grippy compared to the Neo Hibrid case.
I have used the feet on a lot of other stuff though, a number of USB drive cases etc...
Rubber Feet I used... there are actually fairly small, clear so they blend in well on the background of what they are attached to:
