hello
i tried 2/3 times to flash the vanilla rootbox rom (can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1806401) on my SGS 2 I9100 but it stopped with an error in cwm but i don't understood.
i come from this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1847600
i flashed an official samsung rom 2.3.5 and then tried again with the rootbox but it says in cwm "signature verification failed" or something like that
i follow the steps of flashing, i wipe all data but always the same result.
it's not my first flash, i normerly know what to do if they are some bugs but this time no, so i ask in this section for help because i can't post a reply in devellopement section
(and sorry for my bad english ! ) thank you

Signature Verification failure usually occurs when cwm encounters unsigned packages, you can install the package by disabling signature check option in cwm after selecting install zip option.

Okay, at this point you need to make a choice, both have the same path, but you need to know that all is and jb Roms are vulnerable to the EU bug which as of now is irreversible and removes the use of your internal sdcard. As far as being able to flash a Rom, you can odin, overstock then boot into recovery, and flash according to Roms specific directions, general rule of thumb is if you are going to flash an ics or jb Rom use cm 7.1 as an intermediary between the overtook install and your ics/jb Rom.
You can check this too.
Go to Vibrant Android Development.
1st thread, Essential hard to find files, by Woodrube.
Scroll to miscellanous Guides and threads.
Select Installing ICS Roms.
Read, Read, Read,Read.....Hope your familiar with CMW, its essential.

These men speak words of wisdom. Make sure you understand what you are doing before flashing. Not a good practice to read and follow steps while doing it. I generally read first, twice and then flash.
Thanks for take your time, i've try the CWM and recovery mode form to flash my ROM but when i want to enter in the recovery mode
throw me this messages...
My CWM version is 5.0
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted
anyone knows the best way to fix it...
:fingers-crossed:
What recovery did you flash

You flashed a ics or jb kernel. Try a 2.2 froyo kernel from moped ryders threads or fisherman.
recently i bought it so i dont know what kind o flash it has.
My recovery version is e3
can someone give me a tutorial, that how i can flash de kernel and all the stuff that i need?
my vibrant has de froyo 2.2 system...
Just search through the development threads, find a 2.2 kernel. It will be a zip file. Go to CWM recovery and Install zip from SD.
It'll flash the kernel and you'll be up and running in no time
As mentioned, you'll find good kernels to use if you look through some of moped's or fishmans ROMs.
The links I posted walk you step by step how to flash etc. If you are looking to go to a GB, ICS or JB ROM, use the Odin files in the link and go back to stock 2.1 eclair. Then use the update.zip in the links I posted to get cwm recovery. Everything that you are asking can be answered in the threads I posted links to. I would suggest either going to GB or JB. Flashing an ICS ROM puts you at risk of the EU bug.

Pretty sure md5 mismatch.
Status 7 means you're trying to apply a ROM that's not for your device.
I was experienced that error when I was trying to flash a random roms through cwm.
Try downloading the rom again or update CWM. You may also toogle signature verification in recovery, if you have that option.
At the end: you can flash the rom with Odin, just convert the zip to tar.

Thanks, doesn't seem like it was so simple. I had tried that many a times before posting this on to the forum. When I try to install CM10.2 again through CWM, it errors out with (Status 7) error. I did a Wipe/Factory Data Reset, Wipe Dalvik Cache and format system. Tried again but the same error re-appeared (status 7).
So I had to reinstall CM11 and GAPPS for CM11 again to make the phone work with some old bugs again . Camera not working, lag in screen rotation, stock browser not working etc.,
Thanks

Thanks, not sure on what the issue with the Rom could be. I have rooted the device and then installed Blazing Kernel V3 with CWM 6.
Before I decided to upgrade my phone to experimental CM11, I used to apply all CM10.2 Nightlies without any issues.
I have tried to install even CM10.1 stable release through CWM v.6 and the same error comes up.
Further, I have always downloaded ROM's from download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=i9100g or through the CMupdater in the phone.
Can you please let me know, what version of Blazing Kernel should I using on GT-i9100G and how do I flash it safely without fearing of the "Sleep of death" happening.
Thank you.

Thanks for the tip mate:good: I did some reading and found that I need to Flash CWM 6.0.4.5 or so. But somewhere I read about kernels. Can someone tell me the sequnce in which I should flash CWM, Kernel and ROM . Probably going for CWM 6.0.4.5 , Gustavo's kernel ( just because read somewhere its good ) and POUND ROM. Do I need to do all at once ?
Do I need a PC to flash these stuff ? I have a PC without admin priviliges so I can just download the files and copy to my SD card.
I know no one wants to feed spoon , I have done my homework need someone to show me the way to do it without me having to go through entire XDA pages.
Please help.

Yes if its zip then u don't need a pc.
Just flash it without wipe
Dorimax is used for Dualbooting so people prefer that
Gustavo's kernel is one of the best known kernel for kk right now

Thanks for helping me out, Well the main reason for me to flash a Kitkat Rom was because I was not able to login into my skype account using the android app. It says " Incorrect username/Password" . Well I re-installed skype serveral times but same error. The login details are absolutely correct because I can login using PC App and browser. My friend tried his ID and still problem seems to be with my app as I too can login on other phones. Thats when I started thinking maybe this is because of my ROM. Unfortunately after following this thread to flash POUND rom it still seems cant get skype working as same error appears .
Can someone help, Skype is very important app for me.
Do I need to open a new thread related to this for related responses?

Hi everyone, sorry to disturb y'all here
But I have some questions over here
Currently I am using the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i model and I flashed the Ace-I-Sure rom for quite some time ago.
But now i wanted to try another rom,so I downloaded the new rom and put it in my sd card, wipe cache, dalvik, factory reset and everything according to the instructions given by the rom creator, somehow when the device is tryong to open the package, suddenly the installation was aborted. So I try to perform it again, but it's still the same, what is the problem actually? Do i have to flash back to stock rom before flashing a new custom rom? (I was thinking of CM7 or Adrenaline ROM). Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance
P/s : I am a noob newbie here,if there's anything that I did wrong while I am posting this,I am sorry

The reason you are getting the error "Installation Aborted" could be because the rom package must be corrupted. Try downloading it again. If you still have this error, it could be a problem with the rom itself. In that case, you can install another custom rom from the recoverymod. You don't have to flash stock rom before flashing a new one as this was an error caused by the new rom and not your device. If you still can't install any of the other rom, then you can install stock using odin. Do post your results. Hope I Helped
