Last week I rooted my phone with update.zip file. But then I've accidentally cleared update.zip while I was spring cleaning my sd card. It was placed in the internal sd card. Now the problem is my phone manages to boot up, but hangs and does not display properly.
I've tried placing another update.zip file onto my external sd card and reflash from there, however when I enter recovery mode, I don't see my external sd card in the directory.
Is there anyway to remedy this problem? I assume the worst case scenario is to restore factory settings and wipe my phone clean from recovery mode, but I would like to try other methods before coming to that. Thanks

I tried to root my phone. I got the Superuser on. I got clockwork recovery on. Then I tried to install a Rom. The rom said it had an error with the status bar. What I read on some of the forums said wipe and reinstall. I figured well if the the wipe is good. I'll just delete the partations. So I've deleted the partations and re-formated the partions. I can get into the recovery console but it doesn't see the SD card so I can't load the rom. When it boots normally it just comes up to a galaxy screen and hangs. Obviously because the file system is gone.
It's a Galaxy S 2 by sprint. What can I do?
Format your SD card with your PC, place some roms on it, re-insert it in your device, do a full wipe of data and cache, then flash a different rom of your choice.
sd card
So I have copied roms to my sd card but it says there is no files on the SD card. I have go into clockwork and turn on the USB storage and copied the rom there as well. But still no joy.

Make sure the files are in "zip" format (.zip after the filename).
Hey guys, today i was messing around with my nook tablet and i tried to restore it and i acidently deleted everything. now when ever i boot its goes straight to CWM recovery. ive tried to flash recovery and stock reboot and nothing worked. Is there anyway to restore it using usb or anything else? thanks.
I ran into similar difficulty with this earlier today. What worked for me eventually was using
the CMW Windows installer on my SD card, which nerfed it down from 32GB to 2GB,
formatted that 2GB partition,
put the "acclaim_update.zip" folder in the root,
inserted the sd card,
plugged the tablet into the charger,
power+n cycled once, then regular boot and it went it.
Your results may vary, though. It took a few tries before I finally got it to boot from SD
How exactly do i do that?
Fix for the Cyanoboot CWM bootlooping...
It could help someone, haven't seen this simple fix around so i decided to post it up here.
1. boot into CWM from sdcard, see here to download the sdcard version , instructions to burn the image to your sdcard are there too.
2. once you have finished burning the image into your sdcard you will see the size of your sdcard will be reduced to less than 50 MB, CLICK on your sdcard and you will see some files in there.
3. Download 8gb-16gb_cwm_internal.zip from my thread and copy-paste it to your sdcard so you can flash CWM internal using CWM sdcard version. HOPE YOU DONT GET CONFUSED.
4. Safely eject your sdcard from PC, power off your nook(long press power button), put the sdcard back into your nook, power on your nook.
5. It will boot into CWM sdcard then flash 8gb-16gb_cwm_internal.zip, reflash the ROM of your like (It should be on Internal sdcard, you can also swap to another sdcard containing the ROM while in CWM sdcard or resize CWM sdcard [50mb] with a partition tool software so you can copy a ROM to it).
6. Remove the sdcard from your Nook and select reboot system now from CWM
Done!
Your Nook tablet should now boot normally!!!
NOTE: the 8gb-16gb_cwm_internal.zip made by @succulent has few options missing so consider to install another internal CWM later. This process will just make you fix the bootlooping process and boot your device normally.

Flash "acclaim_update.zip"
I recently made a thread on how to flash "acclaim_update.zip" in CWM so head on over to it and see if it works for you and remember do a factory reset from CWM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762024
hello, i was running cm7 on my phone and decided i wanted to switch to nottatrix
i put the files on my external sd card and went into recovery did a factory wipe and then a cache wipe and then a dalvik cache wipe
then i accidently managed to click partition internal sd to 128mb while trying to get back to the main menu
i then rebooted into recovery to try and install my files for the new rom and it says no files found anywhere
i then tried to reboot into my backup i did yesterday and it says there is no backup?
iv turned the phone off to save the battery please help me i dont know what too do?
would this work? put sd card in card reader put rom back on it then install from recovery?
also can someone explain what partitioning does and why all my files have been deleted from my sd card ?
When you lift the partition on a file system....it is erased. Your files are gone.....hard lesson learned.

it must work, i had to do it once, just place the rom in the sd card again, enter recovery and install the rom
So here's the deal, I screwed up big time.
Bottom line, the SDcard is formatted and I can no longer get in the phone (stuck at the splash screen for King Kangers build).
I have a backup of the SDcard and a nandroid backup of the phone, but when I enter CWM, I cannot get the recovery to recognize the external SD card and I can no longer access the internal SD card.
Also, Samsung Kies no longer can access the phone either so I can't re-flash back to stock.
Help please??
Thanks!
Id10t < that'd be me.
Ok, I may have gotten lucky.
I reflashed the ODIN CWM recovery tar and then re-created the folder on the SD card for clockworkmod/backup/ and placed my backup files in there.
Now, I'm back in the CWM and recovery found the external SD card.
I'm in the process of restoring from backup, crossing fingers this all works.
:good:
I my DCIM and a few other folders, were wiped!? Factory reset is not support to wipe either SD card. What happened here? Is there a possibility of permissions, rescanning (I tried manually in the AOKP kernel settings) not bringing up the files?
Trying to figure out how the hell my internal sd card got wiped. I did have to wipe data, to go back to an older recovery but that again should not touch the sd card, it never has in the past. The only thing that makes me think otherwise is in the newer version of TWRP it is mounted oddly (under emu/storage) as opposed to the usualy direct method of sdcard or /external sd
Help! At the very least don't want to make this time consuming mistake again.
What really confused the hell out of me was I went back to my 4.1.2 build to get some files/check some settings, and took some screenshots. All I did was a factory reset in TWRP and restored my newer Kitkat, and none of the screenshots were anywhere to be found. I am hella confused here.
