install amon ra recovery through adb or cleanflash 1.0
then go to recovery and click developer menu then click
install su & superuser (2nd) then reboot and you are done
didnt work, still not rooted but i have the superuser app.
I had the same issue as you. Download the zip on post number 1036. Flash it in recovery. Reboot your system and I think you need to download super user from the market.. open the fileand you should be rooted

I just made a mistake and I cant boot my razr now I flashed euro 2.3.6 then OTA to 4.0.4. I supposed that OTA ROOT should be the last step. Now I cant boot , and I cant flash euro2.3.6now. Any solution for me?

do you have a mmcblk18 backup?
if you do then its fixable and can get back to normal booting
if you dont then you can fix it but have to boot with bp tools everytime.
Reply back and ill try walk you through it..
woops.. I dont have a mmcblk18 backup.. I'm trying to flash boot.img then flash the euro 2.3.6 then OTA ROOT OTA4.0.4. I saw a thread which says the ge4.0.4 can use this method to flash euro 4.0.4
Could you boot before you tried OTA root? If you could, try to get the 4.0.4 update file onto your SD card, then restore to 2.3.6 (it'll fail, don't worry), and boot into recovery and install 4.0.4 again.
try tson's advice before going down the road of erasing cid.
if you are on an EU device then you should be able to fix it.
yep ,be4 i how to restore to 2.3.6?.. just apply the 4.0.4 again?

ok before i was on ics stock. then i upgrade to jb and i dont like it. so many bugs. it is an early jb build btw.
then i downgraded back to ics by installing a jb hboot twrp, and restore a ics nand backup by ckpv5. then 3 months later which is today, i want to upgrade back to jb.
so i install everything back to stock. both stock recovery.img and stock boot.img installed. i used the files from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2210619 at post #1 there are
STOCK_boot.img_Installer.zip - [Click for QR Code] (3.58 MB, 609 views)
STOCK_recovery.img_Installer.zip - [Click for QR Code] (4.32 MB, 622 views)
and just simply press install recovery.img and install boot.img command via fastboot. ok so all done everything is stock. stock kernel stock recovery and stock ics rom, but jb hboot.
then i go to settings and check for update, and i downloaded the 4.1 jb upgrade and it says ready to install then i press ok to install it. then my phone shuts off by itself then i didnt really pay attention to my phone for about 20 seconds then my phone reboots, i thought to myself wow it took this short amount of time to upgrade to jb? then after phone boots my phone are still on ics!! i checked an update again from settings and it ask me to download the updates again.
what should i do? i already changed everything to stock, recovery and boot (kernel) to stock. what else i should do?

You already updated to JB before, so there is no need/you can't to do software update again (with ICS boot.img and recover.img but your hboot is JB), just simply restore your JB Nandroid backup
Then only do software update checking if there is another update for your CID

You don't make one ?
There are not many of JB Nandroid available - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2324815
Just check your CID and see any of those match yours

did you use odin for flashing stock? flash stock firmware
Yes I did switched to stock Rom through Odin and the phone is working but software update downloads but when the time comes for installation it goes into bootmode and says installation aborted. Could you pls tell me that if I am using a custom Rom that is installed by philz recovery "install zip from ext card " then how to switch back to stock Rom using Odin.
