For all those lucky enough to have their hands on a Rezound, please post any problems you are noticing (dropping calls, bad bluetooth, rebooting, etc).
SERIOUS Widespread (A lot of people seem to be speaking up) Issues:
1) Heat Issues (130+ degrees)
2) Dead Pixels
Other Widespread (A lot of people seem to be speaking up) Issues:
1) Since the SD Card now shows as "SD Card 2" many apps which do not know to look for that as the true SD card will not find items on your SD Card.
2) Birthday integration from facebook (birthday in the people app shows a day early) [SAME AS ON INCREDIBLE]
4) A high pitched whine while listening to music through headphones [MANY people have this]
5) The soft buttons turn pink
Other Raised Issues But May Be User/Phone Specific Rather than Common:
1) Notification sounds change seemingly at random
2) Light leakage on the bottom underneath the capacative buttons
If you are having any problems, please head over to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1359862
and post your problem and your manufacture date/batch number. Maybe we can figure out if these are just for a specific batch of phones.
Thanks!

My battery is great. I was in a 4g area tonight for 3 hours. Sittin idle in pockey only to check a few texts and one 3 minute call, i lost 9% of my battery. The 4g on the rezound can be turned off and use 3g only, even in a 4g area

Not sure if its supposed to go out, but my red soft keys dont stay lit, or light up sometimes. I think i may just be looking at them wanting them to glow? When i first saw them, i wasnt gonna get it. It bothered me that much. But when they light up, it is not bothersome at all. I really like it. Glad i just bought it and didnt let my mind get set against it. As i type this, they are out. Not sure if its sone sort or battery saving thing? They aeem to light up randomly?

I think turning off the 4g radio helps this phone a lot. Under networks, go into network settings then preferred and you can set it to cdma or lte/cdma.

basically you didn't really do much of anything with the phone in that time. id like to see much battery drain there is with it constantly using 4g data w/ the screen on the whole time, for 3 hours. my Thunderbolt would die before the 3 hour mark(stock battery).
Batteries can be replaced with extended batteries. While very important, would still like to hear if there are reboot problems or Bluetooth problems or anything else.

nah, just like on the incredible, they work based off ambient light. tunr off all lights or cover the area by the ear piece, they'll come on. turn on a light and put the phone under said light, they'll turn off.

Awesome. With 4G off I am sure it can be manageable. Can't wait to get this phone in 2 weeks.
no prob man..haha on some of the later sense 2/3 hybrid incredible roms, devs couldnt figure out how to turn them off and use the ambient light sensor....so they were stuck on lol
believe me, when i first got my inc, i had no idea why it did that either until someone explained it to me too

Doesn't work quite that way for me, to be honest. I was sitting outside in the dark tonight, and they would just not come on sometimes. Most frequently, when I unlocked the phone and explored the home screen, they would stay off. But sitting here now, in a lit room, they do the same thing. Let the phone sit for a bit, and on they come. Weird.
It does seem like an issue to me. Just an annoyance.
Have not tried Bluetooth functionality yet. No random reboots yet. Had trouble getting Wifi to work at the house. Turns out I put the wrong MAC address in my wireless router MAC filter list. User error on that one.

Not sure if this is worth it's own thread... guess I'll just post it here. I've heard some questions elsewhere about weight. I weighed the Thunderbolt and Rezound. Here are the weights I measured.
Rezound - 170 g.
Thunderbolt - 195 g.
So the Rezound is still a hefty boy. Not as hefty as the Thunderbolt, though.
Maybe you've got a defective one? They're supposed to work based on ambient lighting. Thats weird.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
They do, I bet if he covered it with his finger it'd go on, then go off when directly next to a light (each for several seconds).
A problem is often HTC's settings for ambient light aren't the best, and they won't go on at a relatively dark area because there is a light off in the distance that it picks up.
I do believe there is a few second delay after determining if it's dark or light, so that it doesn't rapidly flicker when changing from light to dark areas.
My HTC incredible did the same thing, and the TB did too. No surprise to hear this
Exactly. Haha
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
One other thing about the capacitive buttons. Unless I have defective ones, they aren't exactly "red" when lit up. They look more like hot pink.
Personally, I don't mind. I roll with a green theme, and the pink is a nice subtle clash to the green and complement to the black bezel. If you're unlike me and are afraid of sporting a phone with pink buttons when it's lit up, I guess this should worry you.
hmm..all the videos i've seen looked red..interesting.
maybe that'll be like the ol famous 'pink hue' problem from our amoled incs! haha osme had it, some didn't

I think most pics posted online show it in the unlit state, where there is definitely a dark red color. I guess when lit, it's more like Magenta than pink... if you can tell the difference.
Odds are I'm the only one curious but, how's the quality on the earbuds that come with the phone?
Are they comparable to any of the models they sell?
Also as of now does it seem like most developers are holding out for the nexus? Seems to be the impression I am getting - sticking to my Thunderbolt for now...
So, I've been getting this notification that the battery temp is too high so it stops charging my Note. I have no idea why right now, but I'm looking into it. Just started a thread wondering if anyone else is having a similar problem. I'm using the OEM charger and cable. I've tried this both with the OEM battery and the gold 3250 battery. The phone is in a flip case on my bed and I feel like that may absorb the heat causing the temperature to rise, but I really have no other ideas beyond that. Anyone got a clue as to why this is happening now? I've been charging the phone on my bed for about a month and this just started happening recently.

Mines fine here also in a fitted case gets warm a little but nothing major id send it in
note @ 1.83
I would definitely call warranty. I wonder if something is stuck running in the background that would require intense CPU/GPU power (like Google navigation).
Its common on my other phone while in the car dock using Google navigation to briefly stop charging. The phone being exposed to direct sun light and heat from charging and navigation is too much. A built in protector stops the phone from charging when its too hot then resumes once it cools etc.

I'm telling you, call warranty. In no way shape or form is your case causing this. I have a TPU case on mine. Way more restrictioning than a simple flip case. Mine never does this.

i think the original charger can cause this too. i'm using a rubber casing which i bought just around the corner and this sometimes occurred to me as well.
When charging and operating the phone at the same time, the phone heats up at a higher temp. Theres no doubt as it did with my previous iphone and gs2.
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke
Several days ago my phone started behaving strangely. Whenever the phone is NOT plugged in, the battery icon flashes continuously. If i plug it in, it stops flashing and behaves normally to show the phone is charging. Also, when the phone is NOT plugged in, the lock screen says it is charging. My battery life is dismal.
When i unplug the phone the battery indicator remains at 100% for a long time, but then drops quickly.Since this started i have to charge the phone twice a day with only moderate usage.
I am now on Shostock2 4.1.5 and Siyah 4.1.1. I tried factory reset, clearing cache and clearing dalvik. I also tried installing a different kernel (dream kernel) and a different ROM (aberration), wiping data, cache and dalvik each time.
I searched the forums, and the only threads i found seem to point to a bad usb port. One thread suggested cleaning the port, which i did using alcohol and compressed air. It helped for about half an hour, and then the problem returned.
Everything seems to point to a usb port that for some reason makes the phone think it is plugged in all the time...perhaps it is somehow shorted? So, it sounds as if my next step is to replace the usb port.
Still, I wanted to ask if anyone had any other possible solutions i could try before sending the phone for warranty repair and get the port replaced (or replace it myself).
Any ideas?
You are being kind of vague here. For instance. U say u have to charge it twice a day with .moderate usage. What if your moderate usage is 2.5 hours screen on time or something. To me, that means of course u will need to charge again if u want to make it he whole day. A bit moar info? Some cowbell?

Moderate usage means (for me anyway having the phone on, wifi on, gps off, no gaming. I only turn the screen on to check email for a couple of minutes here and there, and to answer the occasional call. Before the problem started my phone used to go all day without recharging. Now, even if i let the phone sit, unused, untouched, screen off (like overnight) battery level will drop over 10%per hour. I tried using better battery stats but none of the triggers have been triggered: if i try "since unplugged" or "since charged" or "since screen off" they all show zero seconds...I'm guessing that being "plugged in" continuously is messing with the triggers.
Still, the battery drain is not really the problem. The problem is that the phone seems to think it is plugged in continuously, even when it is not. It sounds like a bad usb port, or a port about to fail completely, but before i try to replace it i wanted to know if anyone had any other possible ideas.
People usually scrub the inside of the port with an alcohol swab if I'm not mistaken. Thought I've seen that posted, never had this problems myself.

My USB port needs to be replaced due to wear ( loose fit of cable). The ones for I777 I have found are $7.00 but are port alone, ones that are for I9100 are $15.00 but are attached to the ribbon cable. I plan to take phone apart to try to determine if the I9100 part will work. The price to have it repaired by MobileTechVideos is $40.00 plus shipping.

Definitely sounds like symptoms of a bad USB port to me. One thing you might do if you want additional confirmation, is to flash back to stock firmware (to rule out firmware issues...though I don't know of anyone who has confirmed this type of symptom being caused by bad firmware) and grab an older copy of BBS that will continue to report stats when plugged in (or maybe it will still do this if you set custom ref? I haven't tried.) There is a wakelock that will show for plugged in...vbus_present I think it is. Or you can also watch CPUSpy - if it continually thinks it's plugged in you'll get zero deep-sleep.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions.i tried sering a custom reference in bbs but no luck. No matter what i try they all show zero seconds. If i look at the battery graph in the system menu, it says the phone has been charging non-stop for the past two days, which is not the case. I will try cpuspy and report back.
Get a tooth pick and push up or down on the metal insert inside of port. May take a few tries but will work. I believe it is caused by your chargers 5 little metal cables bent when you plug into phone...

BBS update
FYI - I just grabbed the latest RC for BBS, and it now has a toggle-able option to log stats while charging (with a caveat to use at your own risk...stats may be inconsistent). Might be another tool for further investigation.

I tried cpu spy. i left the phone untouched, unplugged screen off for about 90 minutes. Cpu spy shows the phone spent almost all of that time at 200 mhz, never entered deep sleep. So it does seem to be a hardware problem, where the phone thinks it is plugged in continuously. i will carefully try the suggestion above to straighten the pins inside the port..maybe they are bent and somehow shorting. If i screw up the port....well, i probably have to change it anyway

So the past couple of nights I have been using sleep as android to track my sleep patterns. Worked well every night until last. I waited for the screen to turn off than put half the phone under my pillow to keep it from falling off the bed. This morning I went to go turn off the App and my phone was burning hot. It was showing a black screen. I could not even hold the phone in my hand it was so hot. I have auto screen off enabled for 1 minute.
I waited about 20 mins and the phone finally booted up., it would just display the LG logo real quick and sit at black screen Untill it cooled off.
My questions are is this because it was under my pillow charging? I know this phone has a temp sensor, but can't find a temp sensor that work's. I know this because if I have the screen at full brightness after a while playing a game the screen will dim, ill go into settings and try to bump it up and it says temp to high please try again later. So I know this phone has some sort of safe guards. How come my phone was burning hot, shouldn't it have turned itself off. Also can this happen even not being under my pillow? Im nervous about leaving my phone chargeing when I sleep for fear its going to burst into flames lol.
Just curious if anyone has ever had this phone get so hot you could not hold it? Phone seems to be working fine, is there away to make sure this phone never gets that hot again?

Best guess is, yes. Don't put your phone under your pillow. The beat has nowhere to go basically it just keeps around the phone.
The N4 has been known to shut itself off for a few minutes after overheating/extremely dead battery.

Check your battery, it may be three cause for this problem. The battery is what heats up the phone the most, if it is leaking, or damaged in any way then it can cause this
Also try cleaning any vents on your phone, they may be clogged, not allowing dissipation of heat
Alternatively, check which kernel and cpu governor you are using, if it is terribly inefficient it can be causing the cpu to stay at high frequencies, which can cause it to increase its TDP footprint
Sent from my GT-I9100
If I helped you, please hit the thanks button!
How would I check my battery on the og since it's internal. Vents were probably blocked since it was under a pillow. Phone is brand new running nocturnal and sk8ters kernel with set cpu governor on on-demand.

I have to be honest with you guys. The only time my phone gets hot is when I play intense games or download a 200+ MB file. Other than that it's always cool, and I'm using a case.
Don't leave your phone under a pillow, turn it off when you can, try and use darker colors/lower the screen brightness as much as possible, and give it a break every so often...

This was the first time it ever got hot. I found a battery temp meter, mine phone gets warm a lot, right now my brightness is at one, set cpu gov is Powersave I have been browsing the net and fb for a half hour, my phone is warm on the upper back half, battery temp is 89.1 f so I dunno like I said it freaked me out, first time it ever got hot in the week I owned it. But it does get warm which is prob normal with all its power and no fans.

You could check the battery by sending it to lg, or check for any sort of liquid seeping from the phone. As for the governor, try setting it to a more conservative setting, on demand can result in it pulling max resources all the time and this can cause the heating. Apart from that, don't keep it under a pillow, in a leather case, or in tight jeans. Keeping it in the sun in a car can also be problematic

Mine got super hot when I first got it. It would do it randomly on occasion, but normally in recovery, however over time (and after flashing updated recoveries) I've been noticing less and less of a problem. Using sk8's kernel also seemed to help.

Have had same problem w- sleep as android app also
At first I thought it was from being under the pillow as well. So I made sure not to put it there the next night, but had it on the bed. It still got pretty hot, just not as hot.
Next, I let the app run all night next to me on the nightstand and it still got pretty warm, but then you don't reliable stats. I then made sure the app was off for a couple of nights and the phone was at a normal temp in the mornings.
There is definitely something different with my phone when running this particular app.

My wife dropped her Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and it would not power on, I searched all the forums looking for a fix I didn't find a fix but I did find someone with the same problem, so after I did find an easy fix I thought I would post it on here maybe it can help others. I took the battery from my phone and put it in my wife's and it worked, I put my wife's battery in my phone and it would not power on or it would not charge. A hard drop on the floor can tear up those cheap replacement batteries so now when I have any problem the battery is the fist thing I will check.
