Hello, my name is Josh and I just rooted my HTC Evo V 4g, I’m kindof new to the rooting world and any help would be appreciated. The problem that I have is that when I try to flash a custom ROM it always says: Failed, Skipping MD5 check: no Md5 file found. assert failed: getprop(“ro.bootloader” ) == “1.04.200″ E:Error executing updater binary in zip ‘/sdcard/shoot Error flashing zip. I’m pretty sure that I installed everything correctly but it just won’t flash, I am running the Team Win Recovery Project v2.5.0.0, HBOOT-1.58.0000 S-ON Unlocked, I tried to flash JellyBAM v. 7.6.2 and P.A.C man JB. v23.0.0. I Also tried making sure that the checksum was the same and it is exactly the same. Some one please help me!
Ok guys, I made a little bit more research and I read that you can't install jelly bean ROMs on hboot 1.58.0000 is this correct? The ROMs that I wanted to install are infact jelly bean ROMs. So I have to S-off my evo and downgrade it to hboot 1.50 is this right? I need a little confirmation and I would appreciate if anybody wants to help me out. Thanks

Yes, JB ROMS require Hboot 1.50 or lower, so you will need to get S-off and downgrade your Hboot.

Hey Everyone,
So I just got S-OFF via JuopunutBear 0.4 on my Rezound and was wondering if you could give me some advice. I currently have a stock Rooted, S-OFF GB Rezound. I would like to flash ICS Ivysaur's ROM or the CleanRom however I am not quite sure what to do about my firmware. Right now when I boot into hboot I see:
Vigor PVT ENG S-OFF RL
HBOOT-2.11.2005 (PH9810000)
Radio 0.95.00.1118r/0.95.00.1223r
Open DSP-v10.6.0.7611.00.0919
I would like to put the lastest firmware on instead of flashing a patch. However I am not sure which one install. Can I install the lastest?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631830
And if I install the lastest hboot do I have to unlock from HTCDEV again or Root from Amon recovery? I am thinking now I am S-OFF I dont have to do any of that.
In the end, I guess I am looking for some better guidence on how to get to the lastest hboot for ICS ROMs.
Thanks for any help!
Yes your s-off so you can install the leak you are on gb so it's a big update I recommend do the whole update not just radios or hboot as they all work best together.

Hi sknight,
Thanks for the guidance. When I download the ROM from this thread does this include the whole update?

I currently have 2.21 ARHD with the first ICS leak. Do I have to relock, update to the later release, unlock and flash the new ARHD 3.0. OR.. is there a way to just flash the newer release of ICS and then ARHD 3.0?
I'm aware of 4ext and rooting, just wanted to avoid relocking, getting the token etc.
I am S=ON.
Thanks..

i am new to this and just unlocked, rooted, s-off my evo 3d cdma and now looking to put a rom on it just wondering if there are any jelly bean roms out that work with the hboot 1.58? i tried pacman and miui but it just goes into bootloop. any ideas why or if there are any?
None of the GB or AOSP based ROM's will boot with the 1.58 hboot and there are no JB Sense ROM's for the Evo 3D yet. Since you are S-OFF you can download your bootloader with the instructions in this post, then you should be able to flash and boot JB AOSP ROM's like PacMan. I recommend using either the JBear GB (1.50.5050) or engineering (ENG 1.04) hboot for the AOSP ROM's, but other hboots that are 1.50 or lower will work.

I will try that now AMD see how it goes. Thanks. Posting if need help I have 4ext as recovery and did the jbear. Hope it works.

hboot 1.58
hboot 1.58 from what I know, is only is only compatible with 2.89 kernal.. and I have not found a jb rom compatible.. You will have to downgrade to 1.4 or 1.04. I haven't done this yet but very close.

Hi,
I have HTC evo 4g lte. I had the latest version of MeanRom installed on the phone and everything was
working. Today I decided to upgrade to BeanRom and followed the instructions in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2048229
My phone information:
Ulocked Jewel S-on
hboot - 1.15
radio 1.05.11.0606
In the instructions it said:
if your radio baseband is less than 1.12.11.1119, you have to update to 1.12.11.1119 before flashing any of these firmwares.
My version was lower so I tried to install the 3.15.651.16 JellyBean OTA "Full" Firmware zip through TWRP v 2.4.1.0 but it was getting an error:
it said FAILED. (maybe because of S-ON)
I decided to install the Boot.img Only (signed) using HBOOT. This worked, it installed.
My phone doesn't boot into MeanRom anymore and I am not sure what to do next. It says before I can install 3.16 I should install full version of 3.15.
Please help. Thank you.

You should have gotten s-off rather than spending so much time trying to work around it.

Without S-off I don't know how you're going to update firmware other than relock and ruu. I'm not real familiar with that, I'm S-off. Good luck. Post in Q&A
From my Evo LTE, yup.
I've got HTC Evo 3D HBOOT 1.53.0007, rooted, S-ON, currently on Sensai ROM 2.0.0, but it seem i cant install any JB ROM. And 4.0.4 (which is Sensai) is biggest version i can get on it. Can anyone help me getting some stock android? Would really appriciate any help
you'll need to downgrade hboot to 1.49 to get AOSP based roms working. And you'll need to s-off your device before you can downgrade. head over to unlimited.io and follow the instructions to get s-off. then downgrade hboot from this thread
