That's a good question but I'm told through threads here that those files are renamed and stashed in some ridiculous folder no one would think to look in and it is really hard to get a good look at the inside of those folders due to how much of them are hidden, encrypted or just plain aggravating.

Trying to Locate Vibrant's T-Mo Wallpaper File

Hey Folks - Can anyone help me locate the wallpaper file on my Vibrant that is part of the T-Mobile 'My Device' app on the Vibrant? Under the 'My Device' app, there is a Wallpapers folder, and at the bottom of that folder is a 'T-Mobile' Gallery folder with six wallpapers in it. Please note that the 'T-Mobile Gallery' that I'm looking for is different and separate from the standard Android Wallpaper Gallery.
I'm hoping to extract and transfer that file/folder over to a Nexus One, but I don't understand Android enough to locate the file on my Vibrant, and probably where to put it on the N1.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Why not just pull the app an place it on your n1?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Ok, good idea, and so I just tried that, but it didnt pull the wallpapers that are visible from the My Device app that show up on the Vibrant. Still just the same N1 wallpapers after copying it over to the N1. Funny thing is that on the Vibrant, these WPs are only visible when in the My Device app not from the WP selector...so wonder where they really are, since after copying over and replacing the My Device app from the Vibrant onto my N1, the WP folder doesnt show up in My Device App (or the regular WP selector)...
Any other ideas? Thanks.

Thanks so much! You're a lifesaver (as far as a wallpaper could save a life - lol). Returned my Vibrant last night (sadly) to T-Mo before locating these WPs, so thanks for extracting them for me.
I was able to load your file into the Gallery just fine, so I now have the WP that I was wanting, but wondering if I could just plop these into the stock WP folder? I cant seem to locate that on My Nexus One (froyo). Having them in the gallery is alright, but sure would be tidy if they could go into the WP folder.

The stock wallpapers reside in the Launcher.apk in the res/drawable directory. To add new wallpapers you will need to recompile, test-sign the resource and put it back on your phone.
A big pain in the rear end in my opinion.

Why can't they make it simple? ={
thanks, i was trying to figure this out too!
Thanks for confirming that they cant simply be plopped in a folder.
That kinda sucks. I would of thought I could put a bunch of images in a folder to keep my gallery from scanning it all of the time.
I'm looking for the other wallapers from the samsung vibrant other than these. does anyone have them? I like the one with the tree.

Lockscreen Wallpapers

Can someone please upload the lockscreen wallpapers that came in your Lumia by default?
Thanks,
The loser who couldn't wait for Lumia and invested in Titan.
They should be available via Settings -> Lockscreen -> Background

Read the post he hasn't got a Lumia, so he cannot get them there. I have them, but how do I sync them to my PC. Zune doesn't show them.

Some people don't know about this option thus missing a few stock backgrounds. I thought it was worth mentioning.

Yeah you are right, I don't own a Lumia
But I've heard Lumia has got some awesome wallpapers (as if the phone itself wasn't enough) to make me want it!
I think they are meant to be extracted somehow. Could you upload them to Skydrive from your phone?

Yes, there are some pretty nice photos in there But I don't see any way to upload/share them. If you know of any other way, let me know
I don't think you can extract those photos in any way. They are probably "baked" into the system. There are no options at all when longpressing those photos or the album. It can't even be browsed/seen other than when changing the lockscreen wallpaper.

File explorer

Hi !
I was wondering if there is any chance of having a file explorer in the near future .
Any thoughts?
For what purpose? Browsing pictures and wideos?

For what purpose?
Why the question about purpose? A file explorer is generally a pretty useful thing to have. Re-opening downloaded files is a good example.

And maybe you didn't understand the logic of the question...
A file Explorer will be nice so that you can decide for your self where to store files like e-mail attachments. I'm still recieving Zip file attachments.
For the amount of time windows phone has been available and still no file explorer...i wouldn't expect one anytime soon. If i recall correctly, its not even possible right now.

Weird contradiction of logics on the same topic.
At least give us your logic of the one you understand and someone else will give you in more detail the logic of what you do not understand.

Though you had a valid point that honestly made me laugh, I find that a file explorer would help in some ways: Renaming files, changing locations, finding email/messaging attachments easier. Renaming files has been a huge issue for me, but I can just do that from my computer at home.
Some people think they should have those features built right into the phone, so you have to understand that they want a file manager.

Hopefully you are just toying with him , with your response. The intent of his response was to indicate that the Windows Phone system has integral plan and purpose in restricting where files, pictures, downloads, etc are stored. This is most likely to insure the integration with Skydrive and its Office apps, etc. This has been in play since the release of Windows Phone 7 2 years ago. Microsoft has not deviated from this. Anyone doing any research about Windows Phone would know this. The response just highlighted that a potential new WP user was asking a question.
A quick look around Windows Phone.com and/or several wiki type sites on the web will help fill in the blanks, and will help you understand what Microsoft will and won't allow access to. Hence, the lack of a file Manager.
If you own Windows 8, you can get a little access into the folder system by connecting your device and using the Windows Explorer to see what is accessible. But you will find access limited to Storage areas and a few other spots like Documents, music, Pictures, videos and Ringtones.
As a reminder, you as an OP should have done a quick search of the forum to bring up this already known situation. Your responder should have reminded you of that, and posted a non sarcastic response..again, as per forum guidelines. Isn't life hard enough without getting into pissing contests over a mobile device app?
Well I'm working with Windows since 1988... There was GEM before then long after got ipad1 android and now wp8. All previous had a file manager...
Now as an example I was downloading a FLAC file via bluetooth
The system just was happy to download the file on the phone...
Now as we know no flac player the file got on the file system somewhere
but I was unable to locate it for deleting it as is is 15 mb of useless data
Now what?
So looked at for a file explorer but nada...
Connecting the phone to the PC only showed the basic stuff
So where did that file ended up?
Surely wp8 is nice fresh what ever you want but common that stuff is sooooo locked up worth than apple.. Surely good for security as praised by some but personally I start to hate this paranoia and philosophy that what you bought is actuality not yours..
Please someone teach me where that file ended up maybe I missed something?

This may be of some help. It's not a file manager like on Windows, but you can manage downloads and there is a file manager section. I would post the link, but I'm new. The application is called "getthemall".

Stock/Original Ringtones for Lumia 920

I wonder why it's very hard to find an extracted stock/original ringtones, notifications and alarms for the Nokia Lumia 920? Anyone can help finding extract for them?

Because the same reason you don't see custom ROMs for this phone. The OS and all of it's files are locked down and no one has been able to break the security since the 820 was released. So you will not see any custom sounds or any other customization options for this phone. In fact if you want to customize then drop the Lumia line all together. it won;t be cracked any time soon.

[Q] Timely alarm clock as ringtone?

Hello, recently I found out about the AMAZING app Timely. It is absolutely beautiful and works great. I really love the default sounds it comes with, and would like to know if I could get one of the alarms as my ringtone. So is there a way to get the music off this app?
Galaxy note 3 Sprint, not rooted (yet)

Any chance you could re-post that zip file? The only other way to get the sound files appears to be extracting the apk and I'm not sure I know enough to do that successfully.
You can find timely apk file on your device (in /data/app folder), select it and choose to extract (apk is a package like a zip file). All sounds in ogg format are in res/raw folder

I'm pretty crushed that they've stopped supporting Timely, it really was the greatest Alarm Clock Android has ever seen.
Personally I can't find the .apk file on my phone, but I've found a few other places on the net where it can be downloaded and extracted.
There's even a SoundCloud playlist (I can't post links yet, sorry)
The trick for Dalia (My favorite as well) is that the actual file name is "la_gitar.ogg". I had to listen to them all to find which one it was.
Several others have different names in the app versus the actual file name.
Hope this info helps others.
Cheers!
But.....
Could you tell me where you found the file? I've searched, and still can't find it
Thank you for the help! It's very sad that Timely is no longer supported, best clock app on Android, have been using it for years! 5 plus easy! But at least now I can use the alarm sound I'm used to.
