[Q] Bionic Linaro - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I see Mysterious PacMan with Bionic Linaro.... but are they the only one using it?
other Rom/Kernel are using it too?
Is it in the Kernel of CM10.1 already and PacMan are just improving it?
Thanks

It a way of building a Rom from scratch. Cm10.1 is build by some one building this way. Ment to be smoother ui and saves battery. Its not pacman its a build from pac done a different way. Kernel don't change I don't think. Stock cm kernel I'm sure. Maybe silght changes in it but not much

AOSP/AOKP/CM/Kerenel

Ok... i'm not new here, but Android has changed a lot since last time i used it. I see many new things here, and i tried looking other threads but still have some confusions.
1. I know AOSP is the original source, and AOKP is the modified one, but can someone still tell me what's the difference? what what in the hell do they modify, and why do they need to modify, i guess the original ROM is better than the Kang.
2. Is CM a AOKP ?
3. Which one is better AOSP or AOKP?
4. What is a Kerenel ?
5. If i flash my phone with a ROM, what happenes to my Beats Audio ? If its gone, can i get the app from somewhere, cause its there in the gplay.

1) http://aokp.co/about/
2) CM is CM and AOKP is AOKP
3) test it!
4) Kernel! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_kernel
5) Lloir includes a modified DSPManager with Beats sources

All roms have to be based on source, otherwise it's not android, it's just another mobile OS running on linux.
Kernels are not new, every OS has a kernel, GNU/Windows/OSX. A kernel is used for communication between the device at a H/W level and the software.

[Q] Most suitable Kernel for CM10 M66B

Hey guys, i'm running CM10 by M66B (421) the last release by him and i was wondering what's the most suitable kernel which i could use for it. I need performance (gaming) and battery life. I currently am on the stock nAa by M66B which was included in a zip and i thought if there is a more suitable kernel out there, i should try it. The only problem is that i don't have enough time to try all JB kernels at the moment (though i tried nAa 3.0.8 kernel 3) and it does have battery problems.
Another request is to how to get the maximum performance on CM10 M66B? What do you guys suggest should i try?
Thanks a lot,
Ishan
Everyone has different choices. What may seem good for one person, may not be suitable for the needs of the other. You can try reading the comments of diffent JB kernels to know about their performance. And xda dosen't allow comparing between roms/kernel.

Hmmm...there NOTHING more suitable kernel for CM10 Extended Roms by M66B than its own kernel made special for his roms...the roms and kernel are made to to help each other, making your phone as stable and usable for daily use..

[Q] GIF support in jb rom?

So I've trued a lot of ICS/ JB ROMs on my matrix but only those on "that kernel" seem to have gif support which I would love to have because I use cinemagram. Unfortuanately "that kernel" is awful on battery life, heat ups, etc. So any suggestions or solutions? It has to be a ICS or JB ROM.
Thanks in advance

Try unpacking boot.img and swap out existing kernel with new 3.1.10 kernel that coresponds to the correct rom (cm9 3.1.10 kernel for cm9, cm10.1 3.1.10 kernel for cm10.1) that should fix things

Thing about that is with the new roms with the kernel is I have some SD card problems and idk if that is ROM related or kernel, any fixes for that as I know the kernel is super new

Any use on using Pimp My rom on CM10?

I'm guessing the rom is already highly optimized, am I wrong?
If you use fxp cm10 ROM it's useful all other cm10 based ROMs they are already tweaked ones...

Uber Kernel on Padawan ROM?

I have been using the Uber Kernel on the ReVolt ROM and it is fantastic. The only problem I have with ReVolt is my MMS doesn't work even after changing my APN's. I use the latest Padawan as my daily but would love the features found in Uber. With Uber being a CM based kerenl, am I correct in assuming that it will not work on a TW ROM?
you are correct it will not work.

Try carbon rom w/ uber and trickster mod and the settings in my sig. This rom cannot be stopped, blazing from day one, no RR's or FC's. Padawan 4.1.2 was my DD until I found this. Take it for a spin and see how you like it.
