Does anyone know if you have ~~ Auto receive mms ~~ turned off ~~ how do you prompt the system to sync / receive again / manually?...
Unless I'm really overlooking it...
I only see turning this check back on to refresh it...

I had little research about this, i know that Google made this that way, because they think that getting MMS (and not downloading the picture) that we can't see in full version (with sound/picture/video) is bad - so it wont give Notification Sound.
The problem is that i have disabled 2g/3g and when I get mms i dont know about it so i can't turn 2g/3g on to check it.
Is there any way to bypass this ? (I like the stock sms/mms app, but if it can't be done in it please recomande me another sms/mms app)
Anyone?
Running cm7.2 official rom and wondering if rom auto sends and receives mms. If not is there a kernel update or other update I can flash to fix this. I would really prefer it auto send and receive. Thanks in advance.
what do you mean by auto send and receive? all ROMs receive MMS and SMS automatically when they are sent to that phone. i'm not quite sure what you are asking
I have a mot bravo running an unofficial cm7 build, when sending or receiving mms, mobile data is automatically turned on and off. This way my data is off so I don't have to worry about usage but still receive mms.
MMS and normal data use different APN settings.

Yes they do, I'm trying to say that on my moto bravo, when sending a MMS message, I attach the picture to text and then hit send. After hitting send the mobile data icon appears in the status bar and the message w/ pic is sent. When someone sends me a pic, my mobile data icon appears automatically and the pic is ready when I view the message. On the atrix 4g, this doesn't happen. If I want to send a pic I have to turn on mobile data before making the MMS so that when I hit send, it is sent out. Also, if someone sends me a pic, when opening the message there is a button labeled download that I must hit after making sure my mobile data is turned on for pic to be downloaded. I like the way the bravo ROM handles the MMS better.
I hope this is clear enough now.
when someone sends you a picture, video or group text message, it comes in as a multimedia message (MMS). when connected to wi-fi only, the message comes into your messaging "in" box, but the audible notification does not ding, nor does the message text completely download. (this on the stock android 4.4.2 text messaging app.)
however, as soon as you turn your data on, both the audible notification rings and the full message text comes thru.
my question: is there any setting available that will automatically turn the data on when an mms message arrives? if so, where is it found? or is there a workaround that will do this?
if not, well, that's just dumb.....
thanks!
Just Got my Le Max 2 820x from Geekbuying yesterday. Seems like a great phone. My one huge problem with it, and I'm hoping it can be solved, is that I sometimes don't receive SMS or MMS when people send them to me. I don't know why it works sometimes and doesn't others. I had a friend send me 7 text messages over the course of the day yesterday and I didn't receive any of them. I used my sons phone to send a test SMS and I didn't get it. Then like 2 seconds later I tried again and got it. I used his phone to send a picture (MMS) and it showed up fine. I texted his phone with the Le Max 2 and it showed up fine. Then I sent a picture (MMS) to his phone and it showed up fine.
I can't be using this phone if I'm going to be missing text messages. It's 95% how I communicate. I've already checked the APN settings and they appear correct. If they weren't, I probably wouldn't be able to send or receive SMS or MMS whatsoever. I'm going to do more testing today, but could DOZE be turning off my cell radio when it goes to sleep somehow so that they phone doesn't "see" the text messages when they come in? I'm hoping it's a software problem. Here's my rom info:
EUI VERSION: 5.8.015S (Stable)
Build Number: FEXCNFN5801507014S
Security Update: June 1, 2016
Please help! Oh, and last thing, I've already tried changing the messaging app from default, to Google Messenger, to Textra and it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Try with rom CM13, everything wil be ok.

I didn't fix it, but I found what the problem was, and I found a workaround. Refer to this post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/help/swiping-app-closed-task-manager-t3481571
Basically, if I leave the messing app (textra) running in the background, I get all the messages and texts. But If I use the app manager/recent apps button and swipe the textra app to close it, somehow the system disables it until I open it again. That's why I was missing messages. So my workaround is to ALWAYS leave the Textra app running in the background and never swipe it closed.

Hi,
I had almost the same issue as you. I did try a custom rom and thought it fixed it, I couldn't unroot that one and BT didn't work though so I went back to stock, sometimes with SMS and some times without. Then the other day I was peeking in the hidden menu and saw something I couldn't understand "SMS over IMS" - it's apparently a way to use SMS as a IP-messenger i.e SMS over LTE. I tried to set it to "NO" which seems to have fixed it.
can you tell where is this hidden menu for "SMS over IMS"?
Thanks!
Hi,
Iam from India and i'm using leX821 version of le max 2. Here,I use a 4G network called Jio. So automatically my data turns on and off while surfing the net. Please reply for the answer
Hello
I have a question about the receipt of mms when the data is disabled
on some smartphone when I receive a mms while my data is disabled, it is activated automatically (in transparency) and I receive well.
on another if I do not activate it manually I do not receive it.
i did the test with the same smartphone same configuration apn / messaging app but on two different rom stock / custom.
on stock rom data disable I get the mms automatically
On custom rom data disable if I want received the mms I have to activate the data manually otherwise I do not receive.
my question is this possible to add / activated this function? does it part software manages that, kernel or rom or ?
thanks
